    Great video CP. It will be interesting to see how it copes when those trees go into leaf. It did do a lovely cut on that front yard though.

      The only time it has ever paused due to low GPS signal was directly under a tree and that was only during mapping with me standing close behind so I could have been blocking as well, I've never seen it pause when it was actually mowing. Maybe there's more of a tolerance?

    Another nice vid. I got mine setup this past weekend. My yard has big hills and thick grass. The Luba was stopping a lot because of the sensors so I set it to setting 1 instead of the default 2. It does a lot better.

    Your explanation and time lapse footage is awesome!
    I hope someone goes the other way and makes a gas powered autonomous mower that fills itself with fuel and has a generator or alternator installed that power a "shock" protection device for itself.

    • @Crazypostman
      @Crazypostman  Рік тому +1

      They're definitely is gas powered versions, there's a company that makes remote controlled ones for steep and hard to get to areas, there's another company that makes autonomous zero-turn gas mowers. You set up your boundary and your no-go areas just like luba and then you get out of the driver's seat and tell it to go and it finishes but it's literally a full size zero turn gas

    Thanks for the video! I am looking for a new robot lawnmower, however I need good obstacle avoidance, with Luba I am a bit worried, because it doesn't have a camera, just ultrasound sensors. Our dog and kids sometimes leave a blanket on the grass.. Is it capable of detecting the blanket and not running over it? I read on their website that it can avoid obstacles of min 5cm in height, however in one of their videos they show it going around a blanket. Otherwise it seems solid, two cutting discs, AWD, that's better than competition.

    • @Crazypostman
      @Crazypostman  Рік тому +1

      I don't think it would avoid something low to the ground like a blanket but it certainly would avoid anything that's sitting up like balls chairs children dogs

    •  Рік тому

      @@Crazypostman thank you, I originally was set on the new Ecoflow Blade, but I don't like the design of front wheels, making it more prone to getting stuck. My lawn is quite uneven with bumps and dips so I think the AWD on Luba would do a better job. I will have to consider pros and cons of both and decide for one of those. Another slight problem with Luba is that they don't officially ship to my country, so I would either have to wait longer or get it through some unofficial route.

      It doesn't have to have direct line of sight, It's a 900 megahertz signal between the mower and the RTK unit, It will go through some walls. But you do want the RTK unit with a full view of the sky for good satellite reception

    @Crazypostman Thank you for sharing. I'm curious if this is the Luba 5000? I noticed the max lawn size for it says 5000m², or 1.236 acres. You had mentioned the yard is ~3 acres. Is it able to cover the whole yard by utilizing multiple zones, or how exactly does that part work?

    • @Crazypostman
      @Crazypostman  Рік тому +1

      I have a different model than the ones currently on sale but It looks to be equivalent to the 5,000 I'm not sure how they decide max size because it can do 5000m2 in 24 hours so it should be able to do seven times that much if it ran 24/7...

    Great video to show the Luba’s capabilities. I am curious how the mower does when the trees have leaves (meaning, is there a degradation in RTK performance?). But you have a pretty wide open sky, so perhaps it won’t be an issue for you. I have more suburban view of the sky with house a tree blockage.

    • @Crazypostman
      @Crazypostman  Рік тому +1

      I don't have any RTK problems so far. If it does lose connection to GPS luba just stops where it's at until it gets more satellites. That's on the mower side. I haven't had any problems with the RTK 900mhz part even in the very back part of the yard and not in line of sight.

      @@daniellevine5859 That's one of the things I do not like about the luba If you're not within Bluetooth range you have no connection to the mower. You can't see notifications You can't start or stop or anything. As for the RTKs 900 MHz portion of the signal, I would assume they're using the standard method instead of something proprietary but I don't know for sure. RTK has been around for decades. It would be a digital signal that has error correction not sure the exact protocol, so it's possible for it to reach several kilometers Maybe even 10 or 20 if it has line of sight 😂
