@Emma Harrison You’re close...she said “...do not truffle with it” ...because truffles were even expensive back then unless you had a truffle pig! Now just wait...“Next time on Food Wishes, pork with black truffle sauce.”.
I don't cook at all, but I can't help but watch your vids. Not only does everything look amazing and delicious, but your commentary as you do stuff never fails to make me smile and laugh a little. Thanks Chef John
Janey, too funny! After a while the corn just looks like it never ends! No matter what state we are in. Sadly, we both have to deal with corn sweat. They should make a horror story about THAT! 🤣
@@Cloud_Grl70 i never heard of corn sweat before. i'm a southern californian, and i dealt with 120 degree weather back in february... but damn, ya'll have it bad with that. my condolences.
I made "deadmans" meatloaf with Frankenstein mashed potatoes w/ steamed broccoli (hair) & blood shot eye deviled eggs every Halloween when my boy's were growing up...it's still to this day 1 of their favorite memories & my youngest (26) asked me to do it this year after I showed him your vid! This brought back great memories for me, warmed my heart watching, thank you!!
Chief John went hard on the Halloween spirit in this one. Love it. I'm going to serve mine with marinara and do them more like meatballs but this is still awesome.
@@jojojaykay because you didn't find love, you found your underwear got a little snug. love is what happens when the bond between two people is so strong that you would do most anything for them, and they would do most anything for you, and when shit gets bad, that bond can even survive things like disease, injury, or political differences... what you have is a case of seeing a pretty face, and don't have the judgment skills of a houseplant to know whether she might be the sweetest girl in the world, is a total bitch, or already has the love of her life and doesn't want jack to do with you. rihanna is an entertainer who tells stories set to music who, similarly, doesn't have the judgment skills of a houseplant, because she keeps finding herself in unstable relationships in reality, and tells the story of a *fictional* couple who found love in a hopeless place. ...but the reality of a good relationship is you build it on hope, hard work, effort, and with deep and lasting bonds... ...and not on seeing a pretty picture of someone you never met of halfway across the world.
Love Worcestershire sauce in my meatloaf. These are great and just in time....a friend's birthday rolls around Halloween and know she'll love them cause she loves my meatloaf. Thanks!
Dude, you are my hero. My partner and I have been working our way through your videos and everything we've made so far has been AMAZING! Just finished your peanut chicken curry. I am in heaven.
You always brighten my day! And scare the bejeezus out of me with your Halloween recipes. My friends and family still talk about the face pie I made a few years ago.
My mom is cheese averse so I made a simple pastry dough, cut out circles, made eye holes, and placed them on top of the raw meat similar to the cheese. Baked them this way for about 30mins and they came out SO CUTE and so tasty 🥹 for any cheese averse ppl out there :)
There’s something so special about each year’s demented and creative Halloween recipe that I’m never quite ready to see the thumbnail for 😆 thanks for another disturbing and delicious recipe chef!
Stole the technique from this video and made dinner for a lady friend on Halloween. It was her first time coming over for dinner. She loved it. Cook time and temp was perfect.
You really killed it with the commentary today, Chef John!
Okay this is probably the first and last time I'm ever giving a compliment on UA-cam but you look very pretty 👉🏻👈🏻
My man, please actually talk to girls instead of saying shit like that.
Killed the meatloaf?
@@FreterP im glad it's at least gonna be the last time
Indeed!
I am laughing so hard at your casual references to "bloody neck stumps" and other gorey silliness! Your sign-off was legendary!
Washyoursistersauce? That would taste like tattoos and vodka. Lol
ahahahaha! I was wondering if I heard him say that. Best comment I have seen is a very long time.
My sister can wash herself lol
"taste like tattoos and vodka" ok, you win.
Incest
AKA Alabama sauce
The script for this video is Literature Nobel Prize material.
You are, after all, the boss, of your wash-your-sister sauce.
Lol
We call it "worst-sister-shower" in the South.
i live in England and I say "war-sha-sha" sauce to get by. real pronounciation is "war-ster-share" sauce
😂😂😂
The bloody Auto Caption 😁😁😁
You could totally make these with italian seasoning, put them over a bed of marinara and serve with slider buns
Make the slider buns look like coffins
Yaaaaaasss.
I love that he always gives Michelle credit for her ideas :) idk I just find it cute 😊
Ghost on toast omg 😂 there’s way too many good phrases in this episode
These are so adorable I can hardly stand it 😍
Man Alive Chef John really went to bat for this year's Halloween episode.
It’s spooky how good he is in the kitchen
I didn't think CJ had a ghost of a chance, he really rattled my chain with this one.
That was super great! Even above Chef's usual high standards.
Mom: “STOP playing with your food!”
Me: “But...but Chef John said it was O.K.”
Well I posted before I read comments you beat me to it😆
Julia Child said "Play with your food, but do not trifle with it."

This is one of my favorite videos of yours!
The jokes in this were fantastic!
And I agree the horizontal screaming face is the spookiest. Ghostface is a terrifying killer for a reason
Humanoid25
Best jokes ever, and that's saying a lot! After 1,000++ videos!
And no one has mentioned the righteous brothers, pottery wheel reference!
"Everybody knows your nose falls off when you decompose." 😂👃
"I don't want a pleasant smile, I prefer something much closer to a tortured scream" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Should have made them and put in "Ghoulash!" Your ghost look great, good job.
This Nebraska girl appreciates the Children of the Corn reference!!! 😉
This Iowa girl is so glad that movie was based in Nebraska instead of Iowa.. even though Iowa produces more corn than Nebraska..
Malachi was *everything* and Isaac the child preacher, I gotta rewatch that soon. “Outlander! We have your woman, outlander”

I normally hate corny humor, but this video is genuinely clever.
Corny humor and cat videos are what I'm surviving on. Oh, and beer.
