@@LOZTGamingnot to mention the disrespect to it in the ride queue. Karma I suppose. I do agree while I’ve never been able to visit that particular section (was focused on Jurassic park on my trip) the theming does look amazingly done.
Massive Pokémon fan, but that ride sounds so lame! I wish Nintendo wouldn’t overthink these rides so much and go for these overly ambitious interactive rides that just don’t seem to work as well as they really plan. Mario Kart was such a missed opportunity. What I’d do for just a really good Pokémon Snap Dark ride. Gyarados bursting out the water, bird Pokémon swooping from above, a huge Chrizard blowing mist in the riders faces. I can play the games and catch them I don’t need to do that IRL but want I can’t do is see them larger than life in an immersive space. Zelda sounds promising though, again I may be biased as darkrides and super themed coasters are my thing.
I'm inclined to agree. The interactive stuff is fun, but it also feels a bit limiting. I think I'd rather have something like Forbidden Journey: not interactive, but big scale animatronics and sets
Great update! I had the Mack boat ride in mind when you mentioned Creature of the Black Lagoon a few videos ago but Zelda seems a good fit too. Not that hot on either Zelda or Pokemon themes, but somehow the Epic Universe Nintendo stuff transcends my indifference to computer games.
I'd be willing to bet Universal is waiting for Epic Universe to open to pull guests away from Diagon Alley and then also away from Hagrid's Motorbikes & Velocicoaster before starting any larger construction projects in those two parks. It'd make perfect sense because more people would be visiting their awesome new park with new attractions, giving them a TON of time, money, and space needed to get stuff done. Additionally, I think a legend of zelda area would be PERFECT to reintroduce a new inverted coaster to Universal again. Ever since we lost the Dueling Dragons, they haven't diversified their coaster type a whole lot! I'd love to see a legend of zelda inverted coaster (it could be family friendly in the same sense that Hagrid's is: not too scary for mom & dad to come, but speedy, well-themed, and fun enough for even the more daring coaster enthusiasts to enjoy) maybe themed around your glider in the games? With the new-er concept of a multilaunch inverted coaster starting to gain momentum, Universal has a chance to really do something amazing. I'd love to see that from them! I mean, they've already managed to make the best family friendly coaster I've ever seen out of Hagrid's!
I’m still really, really hoping for some LOTR at Universal as an expansion. I know it’s probably not gonna happen, but it’s probably my number 1 biggest wish for any theme park
I know everyone loves Nintendo, but I'm honestly disappointed we won't get to see other franchises which I can imagine could have great rides. Some that come to mind are a Megaman dark ride, a Street Fighter simulator ride, multiple Sonic the Hedgehog roller coasters, and much more. Also, is it me, or does it feel like Universal itself is focusing on external properties more than their own?
No idea how much weight to apply to it. But I went to Poseidon's fury in it's last week and the actor who guides you along made extremely overt hints that it was Legend of Zelda replacing the lost continent area.
As someone who never understood the appeal of The Simpsons, I am glad that they may be replaced soon at Universal Orlando. Now we just need the same at Universal Hollywood...
Ok hear me out if they add a Luigi’s Mansion area then they should also add a Wario Land area with some kind of roller coaster. It’d either be themed off of his motorcycle or his gold mine. A rollercoaster would fit great with Wario’s character and it looks like there’s still a lot of space to add more stuff.
Pokémon replacing Spiderman in Japan actually makes a lot of sense! Considering where the Hollywood Nintendo area is, and the Transformers ride being right next to it being very outdated at this point. We haven’t seen those designs for the Transformers since 2011 and the new movies are using completely new designs. It’s unlikely the Transformers are going to stay much longer. So, potentially, we could have the Pokemon ride right next to Nintendo land, and maybe someday replacing the mummy ride, the DK coaster attraction. As much as people love the Mummy ride as a ride and how much people love Brendan Frasier, that might be the next attraction to go after Transformers. That’s just my theory, anyway, nobody has to agree.
If universal is able to execute all of this even to some degree, I do not see how they don't surpass Disney as frontrunner in the race. Universal IP for new expansions is in such a better place in terms of popularity than Encanto and Indiana Jones.
The brand loyalty just triumphs all of universal feats. I really want universal to come out ahead. But some people are literally crazy when it comes to Disney shit. Disney can literally serve them shit on a stick but it's got mickey ears on it...
@@gregmendoza1915 Brand loyalty will only get you so far. Companies that just sit and rely on "brand loyalty" generally end up going bankrupt eventually, or at least have a big downturn in the company. No company is immune to just sitting on their hands and doing nothing just because their brand has loyal fans.
I like The Lost Continent and wish it was still around in its true form....but those Zelda rumors are good eatin'. I'd rather have that than a land busted.
it’s so weird they wouldn’t fast track an immersive pokémon land asap. they would basically be printing money if they did an incredible immersive pokemon experience
Going a bit crazy with the interactive rides maybe? They already are not the most popular or highly rated with guests (MIB, Minion Blast); even haunted mansion-style rides that are transformed into shooting rides are always poorly received. These additions don't make sense logically in my opinion. Extrememly odd choices, but excited for them nonetheless.
I've been a huge Nintendo fan since 2003. A Zelda, Luigi's Mansion, and Pokemon land, along with the confirmed DK and Mario lands sounds like a dream come true. I selfishly hope the Zelda land and movie aren't based off the BotW Zelda games. I want my green tunic boy.
Fear factor live was an interactive show where actual park guest competed..they could use the same arena and have actual guest act as Pokémon trainers to battle. Let the guest user loaner Pokémon just like in the Pokémon stadium games so that the competition is fair and based solely on the skill of the trainer. Ever since they got rid of fear factor there has been a gap for an interactive stage show..so it would make the most sense for it to be Pokémon stadium.
I hope they go with this... spreading out each of these major franchises and giving each its own room to breath in its own miniland is a better option than trying to cram it all into one "Nintendo" land.
I know that the Simpsons ride itself is not everyone's favorite, but the carnival aesthetic is just so beautiful to look at especially at night. The whole Simpsons area has always been my favorite to walk through. I hope Disney does something with The Simpsons in a similar way over at Hollywood Studios.
A Five Nights at Freddy's attraction would be cool! Sally Corp used to have concepts of a ride for sale, but I think they shelved it after Universal got the rights to FNAF.
If Pokémon would replace the Simpsons area in Universal Orlando Resort, I wonder what will replace the Simpsons area In Universal Studios Hollywood? Universal Monsters, Fast and Furious or something original? Probably bringing Back to the Future back, who knows.
Wow this is big news. I am mad about extending the queue for hagrids. They really need to figure out the delays on that ride and deal with the real problem. Such a fun ride but the wait time is ridiculous
Wait, does this mean the E.T. ride is now dead? That is a huge bummer if so. I rode it as a kid in Universal Hollywood, my FAVORITE ride, but it was retired in the late 90s. But a couple years ago I got to re-live the ET ride on a trip to Florida! I was so happy that anytime I visited Florida's park the ET ride would still be there. But now you say that area's being replaced with Dreamworks? So is the ET ride gone for good? :(
Just like Nickelodeon having theme park attractions elsewhere and Universal Kids still using SpongeBob in the new Texas park, as long as they stay separate and are uniquely distinct, I don't think it matters.
You mean thing with Yomiuriland, it looks like it is not a whole park but just a section of the park going to be based on Kanto. I don’t think it will affect anything what universal is doing because Yomiuriland have a Pokemon section there already called Pokémon Wonder
Universal going all in on Nintendo makes sense and I could see everyone of these happening. All of that area past Diagon Alley to Simpsons is wide open for an IP as big as Pokemon. Zelda has been rumored at Islands for years. I would rather see that first over Pokemon but Universal fast tracking that makes sense. Luigi's Mansion is also a given to happen at some point. Would love to see Orlando get the Jurassic World ride from overseas but with all of this going on, it isn't looking as likely. Disney is going to have to do something if Orlando gets Pokemon. Simpsons isn't as popular so I could see Universal doing this as fast as possible.
Ok, imagine a Luigis Mansion attraction with the Mario Kart AR headset. You get a poltergust and you get put onto a moving conveyor belt like on the Villaincon attraction. It takes you through all the rooms of the mansion and you have to capture as many ghosts as possible. It would be neat to have it be completely free roaming but I feel like there would be trouble managing crowds in that case.
Oh nooo, i love the theming of the lost continent in Islands of adventure. I hope they‘ll find a better way to get an attraction there, then to replace the whole area!
Krusty: Hey Hey Kids, your old pal Krusty was handed a fan letter! Let’s open it up! *Krusty opens letter* Krusty: I’m being evicted! Wait a minute, I own this place! *Camera zooms over to photo of Krusty holding the deed while laughing at Doc Brown.* Krusty: Why am I being evicted? It’s not like this place has mice. *Pikachu enters behind Krusty* Krusty: Ah! A MOUSE! Get it Mr. Teeny! *Camera turns towards Krusty’s back with Mr. Teeny acting as his Pokémon.* Pikachu: Pi-ka-chuuuu! *Pikachu uses thunderbolt on Krusty, shocking him and making him pass out.*
If true this will be cool, a popular icon from the 90s is replaced by a popular icon from the 90s. If the same ride system isn’t used then I can hear a million backs cracking back into place. 😂
I’m still so mad that Universal is replacing The Lost Continent. I’m still not over the loss of Dueling Dragons. I’m happy that Simpsons is leaving because I don’t like it… but but I was hoping Universal would put something better there. Pokémon is fine I suppose. It’s better than the Simpsons.
FINALLY! Pokemon is getting a real dark ride 🥰😍!!! I'll be honest, never thought i'd see this day this soon into my life. But that being said I have VERY high expectations for any interactive pokemon catching techniques. Although I understand tracking progress through the app, I think a more active motion tracking system that allows guests to throw AR pokeballs at 'randomly generated' pokemon would be much more worth the cost of an entry ticket from a consumer perspective (especially when pokemon go is... y'know.... Free). Just food/features for thought here but: Indoor Pokemon Safari for controlled lighting, pokemon adventure AR googles, special event pokemon, an immersive pokemon AR battle stadium show, pokemon sightseeing train ride, etc. Zelda would be great in any way. Immersive/ground breaking boat rides sound awesome because we do not have nearly enough of them in the industry today. Luigi's would be amazing. I have no qualms with its' possibilities either. However, WE NEED TO BRING THE WIZARDING WORLD OF ILVERMORNY TO THE PARKS. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk :)
I hope the hand gestures is better than what's used on newish Ninjago ride in Legoland Billund (looks identical to demo) because that's absolutely terrible as in terms of experience.
The video clips used in this are from Ninjago. There isn’t any visual representation of the rumored Pokemon concept at this time. And it’s still an early rumor, so it may not be true.
I don't like the idea of hand gestures during a ride, they never work correctly (I'm thinking of the Legoland Ninjago ride). And for some guests (people who don't speak the language, older people who are funding the trips but still enjoy rides, younger riders, people who can't keep up with the fast paced "think quick" style, etc) it can take away from the ride. And I understand "not everything is for everyone"...but sometimes when I get on a ride, and the interactive mechanics aren't working (Ninjago)/designed poorly (Harry Potter spell wands)/too busy (Villian-Con), it's frustrating and takes away from the experience. Or sometimes I just want to kick back (as much as you can "kick back" on a thrill ride) and enjoy the story of the ride.
I feel like not doing a flying coaster is a missed opportunity for Zelda.. We already have two boat rides at islands, and there is a strong rumor for another boat ride to be added to epic in dark universe.
I was sad to see back the future go. I’ll be sad to simpsons go. Haven’t been in years but something very depressing about childhood memories being phased out.
My first visit to Universal Studios Orlando after 15+ years was JUST this past Thanksgiving (2023). Most of the stuff was new to me, including my favorite part of the park, KRUSTYLAND. I'm a big fan of BACK TO THE FUTURE, but brother, does this ride's story make SO MUCH MORE SENSE than the BTTF ride. The whole experience, from the hilarious queue videos mixing clips from old theme park / vacation eps from the show, and new stuff made JUST for the ride...? If they sold that line video, I'd buy it. And inside, even more stuff plus a fun twist reveal. Great! I'm glad I got to visit Krustyland (and Mini Duff Gardens!) at least ONCE in my life 😄 Hopefully Disney finds a way to move Krustyland to Disney Studios.
I'm still so sad about USJ losing Spider-Man, that park has seen too many ride closures over the past few years (T2, Backdraft, the Snoopy coaster, and now Spidey!) and hearing that it will be another AR goggle ride is a huge bummer. I was hoping for an interactive ride themed to Pokemon Snap where you'd use cameras instead of blasters.
I would love to see a Splatoon themed attraction based on real life Inkopolis or Splatsville in which I hope they put either the squid sisters, Off the Hook or Deep Cut as mascots to represent the land, Metroid, and a possible land based on Smash Bros., but it could be unlikely.
@@AdamYJ Yep! I would like to see it in Orlando, but for Hollywood, possibly not. Plus, hasn’t Splatoon recently got popular since there were also manga published? Japan would like to see it happen someday, which very likely Japan would have to come first.
I can't lie. I'd kinda be sad about both replacements. I know this is the unpopular opinion, but I actually like the Simpson land. Well...the food at least. I'd be completely fine with pokemon replacing the ride. But I like the food options there a lot, so I'd be extremely sad to lose those. But I could manage. I'd be more upset about Zelda in the lost continent. I'm not a Zelda fan. Like at all. I've tried getting into it but it's just not for me. In losing The Lost Continent, we'd not only be losing one of the only non- IP based lands, but we'd also probably lose the AMAZING food options. Yes...I'm brining up the food again. But unlike the Simpsons land, The Lost Continent at least has extremely unique dining options. Mythos is definitely one of my favorite theme park restaurants EVER. And I'd be so sad to see it go. Of course, nothing I can do to stop this from happening. All I'm saying is I'd be bummed out. Am I the only one with this opinion????
Pokémon and Legend Of Zelda make perfect sense… however I’m skeptical of Luigi’s Mansion. It’s not that popular of a game series and does not have the sales/legacy of many of Nintendo’s IPs to back up such an investment.
I love the Simpsons but I know they are loosing the license I think for it but video games are not my thing so i would much rather another movie or series ride be put in. I know I am probably in the minority since younger people seem to by e weaned on video games anymore. Sadly some of the things I like best will be replaced. Mario & those things in Epic are more than enough for me.

I agree. Sometimes simple is best - a solid dark ride with some good animatronics and effects is all we need
Could always be for both rides. It's not like they are a stranger yo using the same ride systems. Would be fun to do
@radder86 Yes you're 100% right actually
Pokémon will have HUGE merch opportunities.
Maybe someday!
Rumour has it LOTR will be in the UK universal park
Yep, as there’s already the tour less then 50 miles away, I highly doubt that they would include a version of the wizarding world in the UK resort.
@@camelotbabe93they’re talking about lord of the rings…. Not Harry Potter lol
@@mra2zee I’m sorry I must have misunderstood.
Universal is the new king of theme park entertainment. Everything coming from them is filled with excitement and hope. Meanwhile, disney...
Pray for Epcot
Universal Studios actually listens to fans when comes to Theme Parka meanwhile Disney is shooting themselves in the foot.
Universal is a ride focused park, Disney is an experience focused park. It's not a competition.
I hope simpsons stays open til 2025 summer, I love that ride
Same
A Luigi mansion haunted house would be awesome
That was my question about the Hagrid's queue
Disney is good at what they do. They target them young and the kids grow into the loyalty. Scary stuff
I think a Pokémon Snap ride would make more sense, especially if it took after the game where continuous ride throughs would unlock more secrets.
Exciting! I just hope they never get rid of ET the Ride.
With Pokemon and Zelda Universal would hit hard on Disney
Going a bit crazy with the interactive rides maybe? They already are not the most popular or highly rated with guests (MIB, Minion Blast); even haunted mansion-style rides that are transformed into shooting rides are always poorly received.
These additions don't make sense logically in my opinion. Extrememly odd choices, but excited for them nonetheless.
I get the feeling interactivity is a requirement from the rights holders on these... I am thankful Mine Cart Madness somehow escaped the mandate.
@@ThemeParkStop People complaining of too many screens will turn to 'too many shooting rides'
Literally every single one of these would be AMAZING! Universal is on track to dethrone Disney, especially if these rumors are true
Man that spiderman ride seemed cool, sad i just found out about it
I love all of these. And they're exactly where I think they'd make sense too.
My little boy is gonna have his mind blown! All his Nintendo favs are gonna be represented!!! Pokémon is a close second…I can’t believe it 😩
I've been a huge Nintendo fan since 2003. A Zelda, Luigi's Mansion, and Pokemon land, along with the confirmed DK and Mario lands sounds like a dream come true.
I selfishly hope the Zelda land and movie aren't based off the BotW Zelda games. I want my green tunic boy.
Getting rid of the animal show area and making that the battle arena would be cool too
Fear factor live was an interactive show where actual park guest competed..they could use the same arena and have actual guest act as Pokémon trainers to battle.
Universal is really spoiling us and I love it 😊 if this comes true, expect Universal to bring in new crowds!
It would be nice if they brought back the BTTF Ride
A Five Nights at Freddy's attraction would be cool! Sally Corp used to have concepts of a ride for sale, but I think they shelved it after Universal got the rights to FNAF.
They need a house based on jt
If Pokémon would replace the Simpsons area in Universal Orlando Resort, I wonder what will replace the Simpsons area In Universal Studios Hollywood? Universal Monsters, Fast and Furious or something original? Probably bringing Back to the Future back, who knows.
Kind of makes me mad how universal has iconic franchises that are still relevant today such as Back to the Future and they do nothing with them
Thank you for all the updates. So excited for the future of US ❤️
I hope The Simpsons will come to the Disney theme parks once Pokémon comes to the Universal theme parks.
Wow Luigi's mansion would be awesome 😎
Wow this is big news. I am mad about extending the queue for hagrids. They really need to figure out the delays on that ride and deal with the real problem. Such a fun ride but the wait time is ridiculous
Universal is killing it!! 🎉
ET Adventure is still there, and even received upgrades recently. The new upcoming DreamWorks area only replaced Barney, Fievel, and Curious George.
@@ThemeParkStop Phew, thank you!!
I hate the idea of Pokémon replacing Simpsons. My daughter loves the Simpsons ride and I enjoy the Duff beer garden and the overall food and theming.
Pokémon just announce their own theme park chain.
How do you think it could affect universal?
Just like Nickelodeon having theme park attractions elsewhere and Universal Kids still using SpongeBob in the new Texas park, as long as they stay separate and are uniquely distinct, I don't think it matters.
@@ThemeParkStop unless if your marvel and simpsons ha ha.

@@ThemeParkStop another question what are you expecting to happen to kang and kodos.
You mean thing with Yomiuriland, it looks like it is not a whole park but just a section of the park going to be based on Kanto. I don’t think it will affect anything what universal is doing because Yomiuriland have a Pokemon section there already called Pokémon Wonder
@@zihaozhang3714 plus Hello Kitty has Puroland in Japan but is still available in USJ
I'm all for a Pokémon ride in Universal Orlando :D
I definitely wanna see a Luigi’s Mansion dark ride happen!
I hate to see the Simpsons area gone
Ok, imagine a Luigis Mansion attraction with the Mario Kart AR headset. You get a poltergust and you get put onto a moving conveyor belt like on the Villaincon attraction. It takes you through all the rooms of the mansion and you have to capture as many ghosts as possible. It would be neat to have it be completely free roaming but I feel like there would be trouble managing crowds in that case.
Oh nooo, i love the theming of the lost continent in Islands of adventure. I hope they‘ll find a better way to get an attraction there, then to replace the whole area!
I love The Simpsons ride & land. I’m hoping it stays & they keep it in Universal Orlando 🤞
Bro a Torterra Animatronic would be amazing
Any news on The Simpsons ride in Hollywood? I just started working there in November
Simpsons leaving, Universal makes me absolutely heartbroken. That's my favorite part of the park
Pokemon replacing Simpsons makes a lot of sense since Pokemon is way more popular and has more wide appeal.
Krusty: Hey Hey Kids, your old pal Krusty was handed a fan letter! Let’s open it up!
*Krusty opens letter*
Krusty: I’m being evicted! Wait a minute, I own this place!
*Camera zooms over to photo of Krusty holding the deed while laughing at Doc Brown.*
Krusty: Why am I being evicted? It’s not like this place has mice.
*Pikachu enters behind Krusty*
Krusty: Ah! A MOUSE! Get it Mr. Teeny!
*Camera turns towards Krusty’s back with Mr. Teeny acting as his Pokémon.*
Pikachu: Pi-ka-chuuuu!
Damn...that has me conflicted...one of my favorite rides is being removed... but ITS FOR POKEMON?!?
Or sometimes I just want to kick back (as much as you can "kick back" on a thrill ride) and enjoy the story of the ride.
any news on a USH simpson replacement ?
Having Nintendo at all 3 Orlando parks is some synergistic planning that is going to get them even closer to Disney
I want a Pokémon Snap ride or walk-through attraction
I feel like not doing a flying coaster is a missed opportunity for Zelda.. We already have two boat rides at islands, and there is a strong rumor for another boat ride to be added to epic in dark universe.
Wow. This was an incredibly exciting update. Universal setting the trend!!!!
I was sad to see back the future go. I’ll be sad to simpsons go. Haven’t been in years but something very depressing about childhood memories being phased out.
I agree with you man & this is totally out of order. 😎👍🏻💯
That would be interesting, considering how much Splatoon stuff is based on Tokyo youth/street culture.
@@AdamYJ Yep! I would like to see it in Orlando, but for Hollywood, possibly not. Plus, hasn’t Splatoon recently got popular since there were also manga published? Japan would like to see it happen someday, which very likely Japan would have to come first.
I just hope they keep the Duff brewery somewhere in the park.. best place to chill mid-day and grab a cold one.
AHHHHH I hope the Luigi's Mansion expansion is really happening!!! That would literally be the coolest thing ever!!!
Any info on the area between animal actors show and ET? Will that open soon, I saw Shreck on the sign.
I agree with you on Mythos. It's one of my favorite places to eat at Universal Orlando.
Disney is probably very concerned with all this future movement from Universal, they are leaping ahead.
I hope I can visit Springfield one last time before it is gone. But I was hoping that instead of a Nintendo theme replacing it, I wanted Diagon Alley.
Diagon Alley is already in Universal Orlando...
@@rapids444 Ya, so I was thinking this was going to happen in Hollywood too. So that's where I was hoping they would put a Diagon Alley. Thanks for the clarification.
I JUST WANT SOMETHING SPLATOON RELATED IN THE PARK IN ANY WAY!!!!
I hope this all comes true honestly this would end the war between Disney and universal as much as I love Disney they’d have to pull out a BIG gun to ever compete with these
Losing the Simpsons ride would be so sad. My family was just there last week and it's such a fun and popular attraction.
And Universal Studios never bothered to give Simpsons Treehouse Of Horrors WTF....
No Killer Itchy and Scratchy Robots... Nothing... Why Universal WHY
Am I missing something? What’s the hype with Zelda? It seems that they can use that space for something so much better
It's a popular and well loved franchise that would make for a very good attraction
@@ThemeParkOgre Yeah, that’s the part that I’m missing lol. Zelda was ant something that most people have heard of outside of Nintendo users/fans. Like Pokémon for example is known by so many people who never played and kids parents. I can’t remember the last thing I’d heard of or seen by Zelda. I can think of ten things that would be really popular
@@GodsServant543 Yeah, it's not a household staple like say Mario or Pokemon, but it's significantly larger than other franchises Universal are using (How to Train Your Dragon for example). The latest game that came out last year has sold 20 million copies
@@ThemeParkOgre gotcha, maybe I’m just thinking they could’ve done more popular and more mature content than Zelda.
Man that Zelda boat ride that could also become a dark ride suspended in the air ride system would be so sick!
Every time I see one of these videos I'm more and more convinced that Disney should be worried. What they don't realize is that for the first few years attendance at their parks will be down because people will want to book universal trips.
