My jaw DROPPED when you pointed out that wolfman footage was the actual animatronic. It's so ridiculously fluid I thought it was more of all the CG that was used in the reveal video. Dark universe is not only a childhood dream come true, but seems to be turning out even crazier. So stoked!!!

It's very early, but this land has the potential to be the best theme park land in the world.
-Its designed from bottom-up instead of top-down as far as the storytelling.
-It's opening with 2 potential E-ticket attractions and expansion space for a 3rd.
-It appears to have some of the best theming with the manor, the burning windmill, the gravestones, the fog effects, etc...
-It appears to have a variety of versatile restaurants and food options.

I could see it being something like with an actor wrapped in his bandage outfit chatting and talking with guests but then he quickly says something to the guests and ducks behind a corner. Maybe he throws some bandages and the goggles out in clear view? Then with hidden surround sound speakers you could hear him taunt you and move around the meet and greet area.
As someone who LOVES gothic horror settings, this land is going to be so amazing.
I hope they do end up making the Creature from the Black Lagoon boat ride because I think it’d be a great fit for Dark Universe, especially since he is confirmed to be in Monsters Unchained. I could see Universal adding a lake in the expansion area to become Gill-Man’s home to fit the backstory of Darkmoor, and then the ride itself could involve you joining a geology expedition looking for fossils (like in the first movie) when the Creature attacks your boat.
It would also be a great opportunity to throw in some shout outs to Jaws, like some variation of “10 minutes?! We’ll be shark food in 10 minutes!”

Wolfman is on this ride and has his own, so I don't think that will be a restriction.
monsters unchained looks like it could be one of the best rides ever, so i can’t even imagine what the ministry of magic ride will be like with the way they’re hyping it up
With the large number of advanced animatronics in Monsters Unchained and the extremely complex ride system in the Battle at the Ministry, I wonder which headliner attraction will be more reliable, and which will break down more often. 🤔

One of my favorite details I noticed in the concept art is the hair on some of the riders sticking up and frizzy as if some kind of static electricity is pulsing throughout
Fun fact: The “Victoria Frankenstein” character’s name is a reference to how, in the original book, the creator’s name was Victor Frankenstein, not Henry Frankenstein like in the movie. Also, the assistant in the movie was named Fritz, not Igor.

Everything, everything, everything about this land I just ADORE. ALL of the storytelling details: characters, architecture, interactions, shops and rides, (and no doubt sounds and smells), ALL tie back in and out of themselves in a way that is just so brilliantly cohesive, respectful and faithful to the original films and properties, yet still SOMEHOW fresh and innovative for a new audience. Absolutely incredible and inspiring work from the creative team for this area, it blew my already high expectations completely apart.
This video was definitely waiting up for. They are trying to combine Extraterrorestrial Alien Encounter with Forbidden Journey.Gill-Man deserves his own ride. Fingers crossed that still happens.

Im so glad Alicia discussed the details about ride effects such as the breath of monsters, the electricity being felt in the ride vehicle, and the bats effect. I can already imagine how impressive this ride will be technologically. It reminds me of Avatar: Flight of Passage immersion but with horror theming and with a KUKA arm ride system.
After watching I was wondering how they could possibly make Dark Universe look any cooler during Halloween… I don’t think it’s possible to be cooler than it is already designed to be!
Every piece of news about this land has only made me more giddy like a child on Christmas. Thank you for all your coverage of this park, and I cannot wait to be here at night!

When I heard the name "Monsters Unleashed" as the original name for the ride, my immediate first thought was the 2nd live action Scooby-Doo movie. I'm willing to bet that's why they didn't use that name.

As a horror fan, I’ve been waiting for this my entire life.
Edit: I just got to the part where she says Danny Elfman may be doing the score and I kid you not I felt tears come to my eyes. This world is going to be a dream come true.
I’ve watched all the uploads and analyses today but this one was the one I was looking for. ACTUAL details and comparisons to drawings, mentioning the type of ride vehicles and tech, etc. I literally don’t care about the plot and how exciting but rather how it’s actually going to work!!
So looking forward to this land! Between this and Dragons, I can't wait to see this park first hand. As always, you guys have done the best coverage of Epic Universe to date. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work.
It may not be the “Wolf Man”, but it would be amazing if the team members at Curse of the Werewolf said lines from “An American Werewolf in London” like: “Stay on the road, keep clear of the moors” and “Beware the moon.” Would have loved to see a Slaugtered Lamb pub put here.

It is going to be the ultimate test of my patience to keep myself from watching a Monsters Unleashed ride through video as soon as it comes out lol. Gonna be tough. It always seems like I am only able to get on a new attraction like at least a year or 18 months after they open, so it truly will put my willpower to the test. I must say, I think I am more excited for this new park than most of what Disney has been doing over the past 15 years. Love seeing Universal step up like this!
Halloween is gonna be HUGE at this area of the park. I imagine their gonna hold off on a real Horror Nights in this park for a couple of years.

I saw the official video first and was so confused when Alicia wasn't talking - I see the Epic Universe logo and assume it's Theme Park Stop!

Alicia, honestly you're so amazing at what you do (not that you need me to tell you) you narrate everything so well and in such great detail, breaking everything down for us, You give is all a real feel of what to expect, you're the only theme park follower that I truly trust! cannot tell you how hyped I am for this land, it's going to be absoloutley amazing, it's like nothing else that's ever been done (but then that goes for the whole of Epic Universe)! I cannot wait to see it all come alive. They have worked so hard on this section to make it relevant to today's audiences. I love how fluid and pretty everything looks (in art design) as a massive Gothic horror head all round. Also truly nice and respectful touch on changing it to mystics. More respectful of real people and for world building the mystics can become their own brand of things, like how a lot of universal original IP creations become fan favourites. Straight up classy. Well done!😊

Alisha did you watch five fires dark universe live stream? Guest on it has ties to people making the park and said epic was behind getting made so universal paid tons of extra cash to add more construction to it and now is ahead of schedule! He said from many people inside universal jan is epic universe opening date and they may do cast and other soft openings in dec of this year! If true epic opens in 6 months!

ERIK! While it did always feel like the recent HHN stuff was "prep" for epic universe on some level this reveal only proves it. (the original house, Bride of Frankenstein lives seems to be a proto victoria, Legends Collide has Drac, Wolf, and Mummy fighting, Monsters Unmasked had Erik in it quite a bit along with Invisible Man and Hunchback...) All that is really missing is Gillman getting his time in the spotlight...at all Poor guy.

At first Dark Universe didn’t really appeal to me, thinking it would all be intense high octane thrill rides (not a fan), but after seeing what they have in store I am so excited for it! I wonder if the reason they didnt do a black lagoon ride (yet) is because they need to figure out how to make it entertaining, fun, but family friendly while making sure its not just rehashing log flume rides of yesteryear or coming off as boring (ex: pandora navi river journey). There is a delicate balance and I bet the recent Tiana’s ride issues is making them glad they are taking their time with designing the possible ride for future release
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but I think Dark Moor might end up being my favorite part of this park. Thanks for the update.
Alicia, I have been so excited about Monsters Unchained since you first discussed the mysterious new animatronic technology for the monsters. I love that the Werewolf Coaster is a "Family Coaster" with horrific werewolves. Creature from the Black Lagoon water ride MUST happen---this park needs another water ride.

Like everyone else I've been watching these updates for many months. The more I watched the more interested I would always get. But I have to admit that during all that time The Dark Universe wasn't one of the lands that I was most interested in. Well all of that has changed after seeing this!! Now I DEFINITELY HAVE TO GO THIS PARK mostly to experience The Dark Universe. I'm so looking forward to experiencing that place at night. I already know that it's going to be so over the top cool being in that place at after the daylight ends. AND Danny Elfman composed music will be played through out that land too!! Oh, they definitely will be getting my money!!
