Best review yet. I find it interesting that Lenovo in this machine, and it's bigger brother the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 9th Gen, has chosen low watt CPUs and intergrated graphics to avoid the requirement for a conventional AC adapter. Recently, due to the chip shortage, we have been getting Lenovo intead of HP Zbooks, and I certainly notice the performance delta, especially in those with i7, and discreet graphics. I am also surprised that anyone is using a display brightness below 300nits, really 400nits. That is the new Apple MacBook Air standard for only $950. It's a shame that you can still pay double that for a PC and end up with a dim screen.

The dim display panels used by the laptop manufacturers is a pet hate of mine. Should be 400 nits min. There are still too many 250 nits 'mid-range' laptops, as a consumer it puts me off instantly.

Great review as usual If this had a 3:2 ratio 500nit screen option and higher resolutions? It would almost be an instant buy.

Thanks. I know what you mean, 400 nits They saved the 4K 500 nits HDR400 panel for the X1 Yoga Gen 6 models. Although this is priced at £2.5K + VAT!

If I would use it for software development, do you recommend this Thinkpad or is the Thinkpad 480(Core i7th 8th gen) better?
    Other options I have: Dell latitude 7410 (i7th 10th gen) Thinkpad T480s ( i7th 8th gen)
All of them have 16gb ram memory

Thanks for your excellent Video and all the informations. The Lenovo online shop in Germany now has the L13 Yoga Gen2 with a 50% discount for around 700 euros. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong there, even with a toned-down configuration, if I buy it for that price. What do you think? Kind regard, Martin

I would like to know how to make phone calls via the X13 yoga knowing that it has two keys, one to pick up and the other to hang up, they are housed in the F10 AND F11 keys. Thanks in advance."

so after many months of use I would like to add some point that no review on youtube about this laptop really say and it's for me a big concern which should change the point of view of many people thinking to buy this model.. On my side I will advice just : DON'T DO IT. It don't worst the price, it's disapointing ! and at this point I'm sad to see all review saying almost the same thing, but I found may be too much avoid the really bad points about it... So here is some stuff which is for me doing that this model don't worst the price and that I will change it as soon I will could!
    1) battery life is poor regarding what we found on the market. It keep around 6 to 8 hours battery only -
    2) the pencil it's very small (rididul!) and have around 1hour max battery on it before have to put on charge, so you can use it longer each time!
    3) few accessories only, almost nothing regarding other laptor around 2000$, and as PEN is you want to draw, only the first version of the PEN PRO is compatible. All news PEN Lenovo last version doesn't work with this computer! it's crazy! only premiun models of lenovo seems to have a lot of accessoires, like X1, or particular one C940 etc.. but this model! it's really poor
    4) !! the Fan could make a lot of noise and computer could be hot.. each time there is a windows update for exemple in background, the fan just turn and make noise all the way and the laptop are going to be hot!
    5) as the fan vent are under the keyboard part, if you have on your legs it could be hot and not feel confortable, and when you're are in the tablet mode, the screen part come againts the fan vent and avoid air to go out effeciency, the result the computer are going to be more hot (untill pass through out the keyboard) and it's became a issue to could draw or use as a tablet! really bad things for a tablet PC! stupid conception!
    6) the screen light and view isn't really bright and nice. I figure out it became from the option in the sreen to could active 'private mode' where people around should'nt see what is on the screen.. function which is in add no really usable! work bad and you see nothing!
    7) for me is a issue. I like to have a keyboard light on, but it's not on by default and you have to tape 2 keyto activate lite, and tape 2 time those 2 keyto get max light power on. Howerver, the keyboard light power off each time the computer go to stand by! and there is no way to setup stay on all time ON! : i search on the web for long time, i found usually you have this option in the Lenovo setup application, but there is not this option in this one! So each time you will not use your laptop for 2 minuts (depending standby time schedule) you will have to put the 2 keys combinaison 2 times to could get keyboard on again! crazzy stupid!
at least the 2 last thinks : 8) if you're not in US like me and want to activate 'canadian' or 'french canadian' or 'french keyboard, as standard in a lot of country and place (to get accent for exemple) you cannot! there is no way to get it
at least 9) will be difficult to acces to the phone support (i pass few time more than 1 hours to try to get support) and had to cancel cause it was too long and i needed to live and not live for call them! .
RESULT : I didn't take decision to send back on the first 2 weeks cause i needed too much a computer at this time, but it's a really a big regret!
I will never say to anyone to by this model it's will be a bad decision on my point of you! and I found all youtube video really gentle regarding lenovo and this model.. I found it almost no fair and we know than people like me cannot buy laptop all 6 months and looking for advice on the good and buy things to don't buy bad 2000$ item!
And I'm IT professional for 20 years, so I saw a lot of laptop and computer on my hands. really disapointed, the model don't worst the price it cost : that's all and that's really a result of almost 6 months of use : don't buy it!

I wish I had seen this when I first purchased it a year ago, but I'm tempted to purchase a new laptop now (especially considering the charging port seems to have given up on me, yes I'm using this as an excuse)
The fan and battery life are my two biggest issues with this. Maybe it's the amount of windows I have open(it's a lot, I'll be fair), but it couldn't survive more than 6 hours on full charge. I also noticed that the coating on the screen almost immediately started to scratch off on the keys themselves, and the pen tended to have accuracy issues
My specific laptop also came with issues that didn't really start occurring until after the 2 week return period. Occasionally I'd have to restart my laptop in order to fix a variety of problems (mouse dissappearing, loss of keyboard function, no volume/ brightness control, etc.). I really wanted to like this laptop(hence why I put up with it) but it's been such a personal headache

All touchscreens have some form of reflection, the L13 has a coating to minimise that refection compared to others.

The L13 Yoga does get a little warm when it was running the stress tests, but nothing to worry about. We've had a dozen out in the field since December 2020 and not had one issue with them so far. 👍

I definitely noticed this reduced display image clarity for the X13 Yoga.

I had L13 Yoga Gen 1 but for Gen 2 got the non Yoga, as barely used it in Yoga mode and thus went with L13 Gen 2 i5-1135g7/16GB/512GB.
Disappointment for the first time all the ThinkPads I had previously, mainly T-series - heating is noticable with fan running always, cannot keep it on lap, and thus it seems to be throttling the CPU; second - battery lasts only 3-4 hours max. I primarily use Linux, but did try Windows 10 and even Windows 11 - couldn't reach even 4 hours!!! With previous L13 Gen 1 i was getting 6-7 hours easily even on Linux.
Very unsatisfied and not sure if i got the bad batch or what!?
