I don't see the point of anything under 800+900$ by intel without a dedicated gpu when the ryzen apus sell for 500-600$. Even if you don't care for anything graphically demanding it's simply future proof and has great resell value, at the same time the 3500u offers quad core and the singe thread performance isn't that much worse than intel's. The only problem is the battery life on ryzen but with the 4th gen that seems to have been greatly improved. I saw a benchmark (3500u vs 4500u on the same laptop body) with 10-20% performance improvement with less wattage and 20C less. That's a great deal. I just don't understand why they aren't offering more if not all models with AMD when they ve clearly stomped intel in every aspect except battery life and thermals. (I can see the issues for thin and light but that's not a budget/student/productivity laptop category)
also no thunderbolt is an issue with AMD. It's an open standard but to get the thunderbolt nametag which you can advertise you need Intel's approval, and AMD doesn't get approved, therefor you can't market thunderbolt with AMD meaning a third or more of the high end is off limits from AMD
Only the Ryzen 4000 mobile chips are worth buying, and they are far better than Intel. AMD caught up and passed Intel in only one generation. But, Ryzen 4000 laptops are still sold out everywhere. Ryzen 3000 is a fair amount behind Intel, but they have good iGPUs.
I've had this Laptop for about 3 months now and used it almost daily for work and leisure. I really enjoy typing on the keyboard, although in my office setting I used it coupled with a mechanical keyboard. I'm overall really enjoying the experience with this device, but here are a few things that are sometimes troubling me: 1. The device sometimes does not seem to recognize the original power brick, and displays a warning on boot that it is not the standard power brick. 2. If you want to use wired Ethernet you will have to get an adapter. The second USB-C (which is the only C-Type available while you are charging the laptop) is so close to the proprietary ethernet port, and the plug is so wide, that you won't be able to use the USB-C port and the ethernet adapter simultaniously. You are left with 2 USB 3.1 Type A ports while charging. 3. The cooling is very slow to pick up. The i5 10210U that is in my unit heats up very quickly. Especially when the device freshly booted into windows 10 it reaches almost 100°C which is the allowed maximum for this processor. Even with this amount of heat, it takes maybe another 1-2 minutes until the fans start to kick in. There is also no option to configure a more agressive cooling. 4. The touchpad cannot be pressed along the upper edge, and it can be weirdly clicked twice depending on pressure on the lower corners. 5. There is no FN shortcut to disable the touchpad or trackpoint. Aside from these minor issues it's a fantastic device. I've considered putting professional thermal paste on the CPU to avoid the heat issue, but I'll wait until after my warranty period to do that.

@@Estudio4110 I think the cooling system is one of the biggest design issues with this unit. I just hope Acer sends you the 2020 Spin 5 when it comes out in June. I'm helping my sister-in-law look for a new laptop for her and my nephew. I was eyeing the Yoga series, but I saw the Spin 5 and I think you get more bang for the bucks. The Spin 5 has 2 thunderbolt ports, USB-a ports, HDMI port, 3:2 screen ration at 2k resolution, and the stylus has a garage. Perfect for her as a teacher, and perfect for my nephew who is going into high school and he loves to draw.
Not to be that guy, but after having the Spin 3 for a week, I feel like it's not very consistent performance wise. A lot of throttle - i gets hilariously hot too. But the worst part for me is the pen - i had the version that uses MPP (surface pen tech) and it was unusable. The newer one had AES so I don't know how that performed, but in past experience I'd just try the Lenovo to be safe. I'll be testing out the new AMD Flex models soon though, so if those disappoint too I'm doomed
FYI, had to repaste my Acer. Surprisingly, it’s lasted me for 3.5 yrs, upgraded the SSD, but I do have to treat it gently. Acer gives you great spec’s but they’re flimsy laptops.
I'm just a general home user, not a business one, but I do value ruggedness in a laptop because I tend to keep them for 5 years or more. I'm in the market for a new laptop right now, and I am debating if I would be fine with the consumer Yoga C740 or if the price premium is worth it to go to one of these Thinkpad L13s.
Is there any reduced display image quality on the parts of the screen you're not looking directly at? I definitely noticed reduced display image clarity for the X13 Yoga.
Hi Lisa, would you recommend the P1 gen 2 or a X1 yoga Gen 5 for a person who does a little CAD work on the go (remote desktop does the heavy lifting in today's climate), bluebeam, and Adode creative suite work. I currently have a P40 which I love, but I'm looking at stepping up to one of the new offerings. Stay safe.
How is the sound quality? I currently have the Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5, I like the sound quality however it's being returned (defective screen) would this be a good replacement for it?

All these years I really hate seeing review and unboxing videos especially high end device, because I can't really afford something like that when a new high end product like that appears every year, and watching this video was like adding salt to my wound😭😭 but I can't stop watching this since I can't help but become curious to the new product being release each year. Btw the highest PC spec that I have right now was: AMD Sempron 140 DDR2 2Gx1/DDR2 1Gx1 Nvidia GT610 DDR3 1GB 64bit OS: Linux Mint Cinamon 19.3 (since linux was the only decent OS that you can run in this awesome build) So yeah seeing this new release of PC every year really hurts my heart.

good review as always Lisa. Have you heard when the 10th gen will make it into the mobile workstation thinkpads? The speed boost seems large enough to wait but I need a new laptop so can't wait forever.
Have been rocking the original x1 yoga since release in 2016, seems like this might be a reasonable upgrade... wish Lenovo still sold replacement batteries or I would just continue using this and maybe rdp to my desktop when the measly 2 cores can't keep up.
I really wish they would put the pen slot in all of their products, nothing wrong with this laptop it's just if I didn't like this laptop I would have to opt for one with no pen slot
I just returned my Lenovo L13 Yoga because the stylus --in spite of being native and "Wacom"-- works with an awful amount of lag. Do not purchase this if that matters to you. I uploaded a video to show how it works. Lenovo wasn't willing to help me troubleshoot it and I did *everything* I could find online to fix it.
@@camilapazgutierrez1606 i can confirm, pen function is awful. I returned after 2 days :/ it drew random lines and in a german lenovo forum it quickly became clear that it's a problem of the whole line
I will also offer another tiny review. I bought the C940 Yoga, top of the line model, the image quality is fantastic but I also wanted the Yoga for drawing, Well, there is a big issue with the reverse fold format and thats zero access to any keys so I found for instance I was wanting to press CTRL Z to undo but I couldn't because I had no access to the keyboard, in addition to this you MUST wear one of the drawing gloves becasue palm rejection is non existent pretty much, to cap this off, the pen itself though comfortable enough its way to small to actually draw anything accurately, at least for me. As a normal laptop and one that you can use touch screen nicely its quite nice and you could also sign forms and the like but as a drawing or editing tablet, unless you can connect a seperate keyboard and mouse, ive not tried then using the laptop as a drawing or photo editing tablet is not my recommendation.
Could you please do an artist review of the Acer ConceptD 7? Seems to be the most powerful in its class, but there haven't been any reviewers that really cover the drawing experience.
what is the top of the line model in 2 in one from there website? They have so many 2 in one I am overwhelmed in which one is the top of the line model.

Same.. the next generations of these laptops surely will have amd chips
It worries me that this channel hasn't reviewed a single AMD laptop yet though...
@@ReetPandher highly doubt it
does anybody know which 2 in 1s will actually get ryzen 4000? The only one I know of is the envy x360 which looks pretty good

Another Superb review Lisa! But no replaceable RAM is a down side in my opinion.
Liked the vid AND the T-shirt ;). Thank you from Canada ~
Wow, this is a quality review.
hi! im looking into getting this laptop as i am transitioning in to highschool from primary school! it is on the list of reccomended devices for my school, so im really glad i found this video so i could look into it more!
Lisa always brings A game to the reviews.
How long does lenovo last these day? Earlier it use to last only as long as the warranty
Thinkpads tend to be tougher (outside and inside) than regular Yogas. If it were me, I'd go with the Thinkpad, no question.
Stay safe.
Hi Lisa I know you probably get a endless questions like this, but I would love your recommendation as the Lenovo ThinkPad guru
Hi Lisa, do you have any infos on the x13 unit, when do you think you can push a review of it?
How is the sound quality? I currently have the Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5, I like the sound quality however it's being returned (defective screen) would this be a good replacement for it?
Thank you for this helpful review. I am thinking about Lenovo Yoga C940 and Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga 13 (Model: 20R5000WUS)
. Which one do you think is worth buying? Can you give me a little bit of information?
All these years I really hate seeing review and unboxing videos especially high end device, because I can't really afford something like that when a new high end product like that appears every year, and watching this video was like adding salt to my wound😭😭 but I can't stop watching this since I can't help but become curious to the new product being release each year.
Btw the highest PC spec that I have right now was:
AMD Sempron 140
DDR2 2Gx1/DDR2 1Gx1
Nvidia GT610 DDR3 1GB 64bit
OS: Linux Mint Cinamon 19.3 (since linux was the only decent OS that you can run in this awesome build)
So yeah seeing this new release of PC every year really hurts my heart.
This ThingPad reminds me of the Yoga C7xx/C9xx series, but improved on the ports. If they ever come out this build with AMD would be interesting.
don't know if you're aware but they did

Hello, I am confused between two laptops HP Spectre X 360 and Lenovo Thinkpad L13 Yoga. Both Have similar price and specs - i7 (lenovo has Gen 10, Hp has gen 11, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD. Which one is expected to be more durable and last longer (atleast 5 years)? Please advise. Thanks.
I love your reviews!! I was thinking of buying this laptop but I was thinking if this is good enough to take notes with the stylus in college or do you recomend something else? Thank you!!
44Wh and that battery life, not bad. And the speakers take up quite some volume internally!
I just bought one and the pen seems to be stuck and i can’t get it out? What can i do?
So... to get the L13 or try to find an x280 - which apparently they don’t make any more ?
Hello, do you think this laptop would work nicely for apps like Photoshop and Illustrator?
Great product but i miss the mat version!
Hey,
another great review.
I am on a hunt for a new 13-14" laptop, and i am still looking for something that does not have RAM soldered on.
Awesome reviews, if possible could you review the 2020 hp spectre 15, I really like your reviews
If I know lisa she is working on it now. I bought my hp specter 5 years ago because her review and I never regretted it. It still works and it was a tank I dropped so much unfortunately the screen cracked but it can be used with an external monitor and the screen can be replaced but at this point I’m just going to buy a new one.
Yasss! I’m excited for Lisa’s tests on the HP Spectre x360 15T with the 10th gen processors.

Does this L13 considered to be an ultrabook?
Great review, Lisa. How about a Lenovo chromebook duet review? Especially its usability for artists. Thanks.
How would it compare to the Lenovo Yoga C740 with similar specs ?
The c740 doesn't have included pen but have a bigger screen. The L13 have more ports (c740 have only two usbc ports and 2 usbA ports). All the other specs are almost identical.
I had read some negative comments about the thermals of the L13 yoga (it gets hot when you perform multi-tasking).
But I still have the same doubt as you (should I buy the yoga c740 or L13 yoga?
can't wait for review of x1 fold
good review as always Lisa.
Hi, thanks for the detailed review. Can you do a thinkpad X13 Yoga review as well?
Can you replace the keyboard? Or is it together with the palm rest?
I really wish they would put the pen slot in all of their products, nothing wrong with this laptop it's just if I didn't like this laptop I would have to opt for one with no pen slot
Thank your for the review. Really helped!
You’re the best reviewer out there
if i did correctly understand the RAM is not upgradable?
no stylus review :(
It's the usual Thinkpad pen which is a Wacom AES pen.
I click on "Lisa videos" because of the pen reivews. Great. I don't even watch the other reviewers...
I don’t know where you buy the shirts but I need them!
you look exactly like my colleague years ago...except she is Dutchy ..we were teammates at the Johan Cruyff Arena (Stadium) ...thx for vid
Hi i have the same laptop but i can't pull the stylus off. Any ideas how?
Hey good information but I wanted to know if ur going to do a video on the new xp pen 24??.

I'll say they already have l390 what's point of this..?
I understand it's affordable but still..!!!
Could you please do an artist review of the Acer ConceptD 7? Seems to be the most powerful in its class, but there haven't been any reviewers that really cover the drawing experience.
Do all L13 yoga's have back light keyboards?
Do you read from a screen when you record the audios?
How to charge pen came with laptop
what is the top of the line model in 2 in one from there website? They have so many 2 in one I am overwhelmed in which one is the top of the line model.
The X1 models are the 'executive business class' (top) 2-in-1s. I have the X1 Yoga 4th gen (2019) and LOVE it!
