    I have the mark iv Target model with walnut grips. I see the walnut grips just had have it got nice grooves for your fingers. Had on made in the early 70s then sold it, darn. Took me a long time for this one 30 years or more. Kind of life got in the way of having fun, but now time for some more of it.

    Own an '86 Mark II Target Stainless, 5.5" Bull Barrel. Love it, will never sell it or trade it. It doesn't quite come apart like yours though, lol. They were used by Navy SEALS in the 70's (Mark II Amphibious), with an integral suppressor.
    They really are the standard for .22 handguns, along side the Ruger 10/22 rifle.
    Super accurate, super reliable. The MkIII's had some lemons, and I'm glad they appeared to have fixed the problems of the type.
    Might have to have a competition next time I come down. ;)

    Watching this 5/29/23 and it’s all still true even now. My dad always told me, if you really want something, spend the extra money and get the one you really want and you won’t be disappointed. So that’s why I went with the stainless with the threaded barrel. I think it’s hilarious that nobody caught your little chuckle when you mention what “came in the box.”

      Lmao! Yeah, you are the first to mention it, lol. I fully agree with what your dad said. My parents had a similar mindset. Get the one you really want, even if you have to save a little more cash for it. Helps prevent buyers' remorse.

    Thanks for the video. I got to get one of those. Life member of GOA 👍🏼👍🏼 as well of Florida Carry. It would be cool to get together for some range time. Please post if you do any upgrades to this pistol.

    I just ordered this gun 2 days ago. it should be at the FFL in about 5 more days. It was hard to choose between this pistol and the Ruger MK 4 Hunter all SS with a Fluted Barrel . So sweat looking but $ 100+ dollars more . I chose finely the MK 4 Target with the threaded barrel so I can add a Silencer later if I like the way it shoots . Great Video .Would have liked to see some Groupings at 25 and 50 yards but I liked it as is . Thank You and happy shooting.

    Weird how these all seem to come in boxes but I got mine with a case. As for optics. I have a vortex crossfire red dot on mine and it works really well

    I just got a 22/45 gold barrel, the original grip tactical and this stainless target on Gunbroker after searching for weeks on retailer sites. I paid a little more but got what I wanted without waiting. All came in the nice plastic case and were recently manufactured. I still think I could get the Talo Hunter in all Stainless if I could find it. Do you think a Mark V soon?

    • @Slavinatorski
      @Slavinatorski  3 роки тому

      I think it would be awesome to see the newest model soon, probably won't be for a couple of years though. Gunbroker is a great site for that, you can always find what it is you're looking for.

    Great review, Slavinatorski! This is the exact Ruger Mark IV model I plan to purchase. I'm teetering a little bit with the Ruger Mark IV Tactical, but I think this will be my first Mark IV purchase. Did you have competing models that you had an interest to purchase? Thanks again! GREAT REVIEW!

    • @Slavinatorski

      Thank you very much! The main choice I had was between stainless and blued. I mainly wanted this model for the bull barrel and the threads on the end. I currently have a suppressor in NFA jail waiting on release to run on it. These with subsonic ammo are about as quiet as you can get from what I've searched, I can't wait to get them out to the range together.

      I did purchase the stainless Target this morning. Waiting for it to arrive at my FFL. Did you upgrade your trigger? I’m looking at both VG and TK. Do you have a recommendation? If it’s VQ, which trigger? Thanks again! Loved your review!

    • @gronthomson

      Which suppressor did you purchase?

    • @Slavinatorski
      @Slavinatorski  4 роки тому +1

      I haven't upgraded the trigger yet on mine. I don't mind it's current trigger but I'm used to some extremely heavy ones so I know in not the best judge on that, but I will say I'm quickly becoming a fan of flat triggers.
      I picked up the Radical 22lr suppressor. Hopefully that tax stamp will roll in soon and I can run, pick it up, and head out to the range.

      Slavinatorski I own this exact model and appreciate the spot-on review. Want to add a suppressor and curious what you chose, and why? I have a pistol range set up 40 yards from my house but a very gun shy yellow Labrador for my wife to contend with when I shoot.

    I have exactly the same pistol, except that mine has a black anodized lower receiver. (40163). I've only ever shot copper-plated rounds, thus avoiding fouling the magazines with wax.
    The trigger it came with wasn't great. I recommend the Volquarzen "accurizing" trigger mod, which brings the pull weight below 2 pounds. (With that mod, you come to appreciate the safety). Also, everything needs blue Locktite (especially the front site, and then, the barrel thread protector, and then the accessory rail, if you put one on top), or the gun eventually falls apart in your hands.
    I can shoot far more accurately with this pistol than with a Glock 34, which I've also put nearly 3000 rounds through. Even with the crappy stock sites, it's pretty accurate. With a red dot tube-shaped reflex site, it's a a tack driver. I've only had two failures to fire -- one round worked the second time, and the other was a dud. There have been some FTFs and FTEs, so it's not as reliable as the Glock 34, which hardly ever had any kind of failure.
    I use high-velocity Aguila ammo. I'm not sure that lower-velocity ammo would cycle the bolt reliably.

      I'm going to have to look into the trigger now, thanks for the tips by the way. Yeah the nickel mags were a must in my opinion.
