I had the same problem with the magazine release. I took the left grip panel and mag release button out. There was some build up behind there. Cleaned out and worked great. If I remember correct there also adjustment.
I bought one a few years ago. It has Tandemkross guts, comp and firecontrol. The optic is a TRS25. The pistol has zillions of rounds through it and beyond the occasional bent round stoppage, it has been hyper reliable. Accuracy with decent or better quality has been good to great, and benched with high quality ammo it can print 1 inch groups at 25. I own a pile of other 22 pistols and they are all good shooters, but my Mk4 Tac is the complete package. Easy to clean and maintain, accurate, reliable, well balanced and even well pimped it isnt terribly expensive.
Here in 2024 it was still kind of hard to find this pistol. My local Fleet Farm had a 22/45 Tactical in stock and I snapped it up. Such a sweet pistol to shoot.
I was just lookin at one earlier today at the Academy fown the road. I was surprised to see it too and while there r several diff flavors of ruger mk4 this is def the one i want. Price to feature ratio i think its the most balanced
I just got a mark lV lite, waiting on my CGS Hydra SS (black)....I too got a vortex red dot. the new ccw defender, on sale for like 180 with shipping....I already had a 507K on my carry gun and didn't want to use the vortex defender, so I put it on my mark lV.
Nice! Could you speak to the TLR VIR2 light? Also, though the Vortex red dot is not advertised as NV compatible, do you find that you can use it with NVG's anyway? Thanks!
I will hopefully be doing more videos soon about the TLR VIR2, and you absolutely can use the viper under night vision on the lowest setting. Thanks for watching!
I usually run a dry patch attached to a brush thru all my pistol magwells. Can't say this will help your particular issue, however it probably will not hurt. Dennis.
That torso part with the head area is impressive. I too have one with a Bushnell TRS25 and a Sparrow suppressor. Great combo. I like to use paper plates with adhesive dots as some clubs don’t allow “human shaped” targets. And plates are cheap. Targets are pricey. Anyways. We say this would work when holding it over a particular anatomical area and say Well if you can hit that well at that distance this would work. Your shooting would easily defeat a bulb or camera or whatever.
Great content!! Just subscribed. Wondering if just spraying some gun solvent down the chamber and magwell will simply clean it out? I sorta think that might work since the solvent dries and doesn’t leave residue
You can definitely do that ideally it would get some agitating with a brush because even the spray won’t get everything out of there. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Could you review the TAURUSTX 22 Competition SCR. I'm trying to decide whether to buy it or the Ruger MARK IV 22/45 TACTICAL. I'm a casual shooter and I own a 1911 45 ACP also. The money difference isn't a big difference maker for me. I'm probably going to buy a suppresser that I can shoot on multiple guns. I'm probably going to mount a Red Dot sight also. Your videos are great. Keep up the good work.
It would actually be perfect for pest control for rats and other vermin that are eating animal feed. Definitely a necessity for any and all local farmers 👨🌾
I have the tactical model modified with tandemkross trigger and other parts. Using Holosun 507c. I run Remington Thunderbolt ammo exclusively. For some reason that ammo works flawlessly in my gun. I am looking for a fix or replacement parts that will allow me to run other brands of ammo. Any help appreciated...
I'm setting mine up currently......question for anyone. Would ultrasonic cleaning help with this jamming carbon/wax/whatever build up? We have a weapons u/s cleaner system at work, but used one years ago on my Sig P226 and it dulled the whole gun's finish. Not sure if it was the nitride that was stripped off or what. I've not used one since except on duty weapons.
So with any gun you just want to make sure that the cleaning liquid in the ultrasonic is not gonna be to rough on whatever finish the gun has. Also yes it should help with any wax/lead build up.
I just subscribed. I really want one as a plinker and a sidearm for my 10/22 as a combo. I was considering a Beretta 92 FSR .22 suppressor ready instead. I also really want 90 series in 9mm too. I like your setup and would like to have the same attachments on mine.
Are you psychic? Every time I start thinking about getting another pistol you review one of the 2 that I’m considering. The ruger is an amazing 22. Do you have a review on the S&W Victory also? Keep up the excellent reviews Sir. Your Definitely my favorite gun guy
I own a Victory, among other 22s. Pros- Easy on the wallet and parity with quality of the Bucky and Rugers. Accurate above its price point. Easy, TOOLED Take-down, simple design. High vis sights. Cons- Round butt grips. They taper all wrong for a target pistol, but they are comfortable. Mine refused to eject many, many types of ammo. The ejector is a welded piece of steel in the upper, so a slight bend cured the problem. Bending pieces to make a gun work......yeah. Factory scope rail is a POS. Period. Price point guts and trigger. Definitely the least accurate compared to Buckys or Rugers So if you had $500 to drop on a quality target style pistol, it is not the worst option, just not the best. I would find the Ruger or Bucky in the configuration you like and buy that. All being said- I added a Volquartsen barrel, grips, Tandemkross guts and firecontrol, and their optic plate and Burris FastFire. My Victory now shoots really damn good. But, I added $600-$700 worth of parts to a $450 pistol to make it shoot as well as my $00 Mk4....
Thank you for the great review of this pistol. Since I have one as well, I’m trying to select the best possible suppressor for it. What would you recommend?? Thanking you in advance.
I have the exact model, this gun is so sweet that I've failed finding a used one in the market. (just for the sake of seeing how much it pays as used.) I've got a suppressor, a cheap red dot for it, although red dot is cheap, it works good enough and from 25 meters away can get good groups with it. The next thing I want to buy for it is a full metal butt stock that would be attached to the upper rail and makes it a short barrel rifle. (kind of) 😅 Used mostly Cci standard or Blazer and sofar, after around 500 rounds it only had a fail to feed a new round. Using suppressor makes the lower very dirty, maybe that's why you got the mag release issues.
@@caseyschryber1255 the safety level on the mark 4 has way too much middle movement between on and off and the bolt release just wiggles around vs the detents on the mk3 that keep it in either on or off.

I have this version of the Mark4 I really enjoy it and think it actually has a few practical purposes
I totally agree, thanks for watching!

I will say I am glad I got the other competition Mark 4 tactical that I can easily grab the magazine if it gets stuck.
That’s very true! It makes a huge difference!
Nice pistol, I like my Mark 4 22-45!
I can also attest to the military usage of the Ruger 6" Government .22 suppressed pistols back in the 1970s.
They really are great guns!

It would really be nice to get a video of the lower cleaning, disassembly/reassembly.
Unfortunately I can’t do any of that here on UA-cam because of their policies.

That’s a great thing to do Dennis, I did do that in this pistol but unfortunately I just can’t get down into the small corners.
Happy I read your post. Something I’d forgotten to do… Semper fi Dennis🇺🇸

I have not had a chance to check that out yet but it looks awesome!

Tough call because I have heard great things about the TX22, if I can get my hands on it I will definitely do a review!
What holster are you using for the Mark IV? Love all the reviews by the way!
It’s a black hawk omnivore, that was modified and cut to size
I'm planning to buy one of those. Can you recommend to me which model I should get? There are too many kinds....😅😅😅
Well I would highly recommend the Tactical it’s excellent
How would you compare this to the stainless target Mark IV?
Hmm tough comparison just because they are really two completely different pistol as far as purpose goes

For this video I was primarily using my silencerco sparrow
Hey, your videos on the LCRx 22lr and the Mark IV tactical got me thinking. If you could have only one, which would it be and why?
Well between those two I would definitely stay with the mark IV because it’s just a better plinker overall, hopefully that helped!
Can this gun be effect as a defense weapon
Depending on the situation it would definitely work but there are better options.
I'm at a gun show and they have all the rugers Mark IV which one is the best !!! Need help ASAP
I would go with the tactical without a doubt
@@FirearmFreedom Yessssssss lmao I just saw this and I went with the tactical. My very first gun !
@@FirearmFreedom also how much was your suppressor?
I have the Lite model can a bottom rail be added to it? I like that.
On the tactical lite models yes but the standard lite models no.

Why does everyone prefer the Mark IV vs the Mk IV 22/45 (tactical versions)??
2000 rounds is excellent. I'd like to see more 1000 rd and 2000 rd reviews on guns. It tells you a lot about them.
I completely agree luckily it’s a little cheaper to do with 22 lol!

Is it a thin barrel like Lite model?
It is not it’s a bull barrel.
What holster were you using? Great review as always ;)
Make sure to take apart your mags and clean em out thoroughly occasionally.
I have this gun and love it.
Nice!
really hate how its not available in CA
Ya that is definitely a bummer!
For precision ahooting (paper tsrget) 22/45 or original? Thanks
I would say Original. All the Olympic pistol have a grip angle more akin to the Regular MKIV. There has to be a reason for that.
What Light is he running?
It’s a TLR VIR II and it’s a solid little light!
Thank you for the great review of this pistol. Since I have one as well, I’m trying to select the best possible suppressor for it. What would you recommend?? Thanking you in advance.
Hmmm tough to say although I love the rugged oculus on mine.
Is it a bull barrel or shrouded?
Could a .22 LR round be lethal ?
Absolutely

Such a beautiful gun, but Why ruger never fixed that trigger guard. Not cold weather friendly. Put a heavy duty/ thick finger glove in that!🤔😒
This is very true definitely not cold weather friendly but it does at least look nice with this tiny trigger guard lol
