Define the great line is the first album i've ever bought, it was 10 years ago... i still think that no metalcore bands coming to this day have gotten even remotely close to the beauty and magnificence of this gem.
+Bryan Baez I wouldn't go as far as that. It was, for fans of the album, but the genre would survive and thrive with or without this album man. I wouldn't say it defined the genre that's a little strong.. Maybe amongst many but for sure not on its own. Still a classic album one of the greats that's for sure
Facts ... I've been a hip hop fan my whole life. But to me, this is the greatest album ever made that i've heard so far. I know every track back to back.
One thing that’s crazy about this album is that even though it influenced hundreds of bands, it’s still freshen unique. At 1:41 nearly any metal core band would’ve done a straight up breakdown after that build up and it’s what you would normally expect, and under totally goes in the other direction and I love it it’s not super progressive to the point of being like between the buried in me or something, butit just subverts your expectations just enough that it still sounds unique and exciting and I love it
Soo intense ! You can feel and see the sincere raw emotion in their words and eyes and how they burst at the top of their lungs to let it all out ! GREAT BAND ALL AROUND !
my friends got me into underoath, and i didn't full sign on until DTGL. from start to finish, it is one of my favorite albums, certainly my favorite of the genre, and generation. it is the only FULL album, that I will get an itch to listen to. It's funny because back then my friends were like "yeah, theyre not the same" type attitude towards DTGL, but i knew the piece of gold i had in my hands. I wanna thank each member, there's no explaining just how special this album is, but it's helped me in so many instances. I also thank you for picking back up, i got to see you all in San Bernardino for Self Help when you first came back and had vip tickets, im from wisconsin dawg, if that puts it into perspective. i hope to catch you guys next time around wisco
Rather than be silly and argue religion, I just want to comment on how well-produced this video is. Goes with the song idea perfectly. Whether or not someone is Christian or not, if they like the music, they like the music, plain and simple. Christianity is becoming born again in spirit as a believer of Jesus Christ. You don't "have" to be literally baptized in water, thats just a symbol to the people that it has been done, so long as you are a believer in the savior and baptized of the spirit
Held captive, I'm a prisoner In the back room where the water leaks And I'm, oh, so cold Command me on what to do But we both know Neither you or I are in control There's nothing left for me here I'm grabbing on to what's left of this hole It's all too real, this can't be happening Never again, ever again, will I say I'm okay I'm scared of the fate that will become mine Become mine No time to talk, no time to talk You know the drill Under my desk, this can't be it I'm only dreaming (I've got to be dreaming) But I can't get up No time to talk, not this time (This is my place) This is where I arrange Under my desk, this can't be it I'm only dreaming (I've got to be dreaming) But I can't get up No time to talk, not this time (This is my place) This is where I arrange It's so funny how We see things so clear When we have no time left to live So, lay back now And take it in I won't say a word So, lay back now And take it in And I won't say anything I can't believe how it feels To stand here in this room And feel like it's gonna blow I think we're all gonna blow Under my desk, this can't be it I'm only dreaming (I've got to be dreaming) But I can't get up No time to talk, not this time (This is my place) This is where I arrange Well, I've got to be dreaming (I've got to be dreaming) We've got to be dreaming (We've got to be dreaming) We've got to be I've got to be dreaming (I've got to be dreaming) We've got to be dreaming Please, don't wake me up This is the end This is the end This is the end
WOW! That's the first time I've seen Underoath perform! I've another music video or two from Define the Great Line, but the ones I saw didn't show the band as much as this one
Yeah. Define the great line is amazing. I can't wait for the new album. They are becoming more and more hardcore/screamo. That is just the kind of band they are, And they do a great job of it.
Survive, Kaleidoscope is a live CD/DVD combo that came out a month or two ago. It has no new material, but if you really like Underoath you'd like it. Their UA-cam video "You're Ever So Inviting (Live)" is an excerpt from it.
5-30-2010. Ain't it great? James Smith is 28. Happy Birthday, James. I hope that you all can come perform in my area sometime (Colonial Life Arena, Columbia, SC). Think about it. Peace out.
@Akidvid Totally agree about the screaming. I just feel like he's right next to me, talking to me.. Haha, kinda weird I just feel like I'm understanding him more than I understand other bands. Not just the words-but, the emotion behind them.
wtf... then i trying to dowload this song i only get writting on the walls :( where do i get this song??? ( i can't buy the CD becuese i live in a little town in sweden and the CD is not where :( )
Dude, that's sick! I'm gonna try to see them on Mayhem Festival (which, I assume, is where you saw them) in August. Until then, the closest I can get to a live show of them is Survive, Kaleidoscope.
Yeah, I don't have much money and they haven't ever come close enough (and I hanen't ever really tried to go see any of my favorite bands... I'm thinking of trying to go to the Skillet/TFK concert, though).
Well they did record all of their videos for "Define the Great Line" at the same time, so thoughts from other videos were probably still lingering. That and they only had a limited amount of space to record in.
Cyberus Morphous they refresh it every once in awhile. The 10 year old and so on comments are original comments on the video. They re-publish shit on UA-cam sometimes so it'll come up on people who are subscribed's notifications and shows up in other people's suggestions and such
Jesus says to keep his commandments and that is one of them. You don't have to be baptized physically in order to be saved because once you accept Christ, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit. But a physical baptism is an outward sign of an inside work so it's like why wouldn't you want to do that anyways but it does say to do it.
but nobody is perfect... we can only be perfect if Christ enters our hearts :) of course he doesn't hate us, God loves us all, because He created us... i learned that from my music/Cle/PE teacher :))
These bands are great, and most of them are Christian: Oh, Sleeper, Haste the Day, August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Thrice, Becoming the Archetype, Demon Hunter, Norma Jean, The Devil Wears Prada, Emery, Still Remains All That Remains, Inhale/Exhale Just some I can think of off the top of my head, ask me for more if you want to.
Dominic Ornelas the whole video is bad quality, they just never improved it lol I'm fairly sure they just shot it and came out with this, it's not one of their more popular ones
I seriously love how Aaron does vocals plus drums. Skill.
Define the great line is the first album i've ever bought, it was 10 years ago... i still think that no metalcore bands coming to this day have gotten even remotely close to the beauty and magnificence of this gem.
This album is pure metalcore masterpiece
The most under rated album of all time.
Dude. How. It went gold and sold 100,000 its first week. Got to #2 on the billboard. It's known as the defining album for post-hardcore metal core
I mean...writings on walls music video was nominated for a grammy so, maybe not so under rated haha.
Facts ... I've been a hip hop fan my whole life. But to me, this is the greatest album ever made that i've heard so far. I know every track back to back.
No, it's not.
Lost in the Sound of Separation is.
Spencers & Aarons lyrics/songs never get old
Started listening 2007 and still do.
Listening to Define The Great Line was one of the most pivotal moments of my life.

My favorite underoath album etc. i cannot believe this is happening! Brings back so many memories!
The Awesomeness about this is Hes Screaming... Yet... you still can understand him! :D
found that perfect balance of I'm yelling, but I'm not.
This band has such a unique sound. Never gets old. Also, Spencer is a professional hair whipper😁.
My favourite song. Thanks
my friends got me into underoath, and i didn't full sign on until DTGL. from start to finish, it is one of my favorite albums, certainly my favorite of the genre, and generation. it is the only FULL album, that I will get an itch to listen to. I didnt realize this song had a video lol this is cool
Michael Canada actually I was looking for this one and I didn't know what was the name.
So much talent. Man I love everything about this song especially the part with the clean vocals at 2:06
My favorite song off of this album
The best outro I've ever hear!
Rather than be silly and argue religion, I just want to comment on how well-produced this video is. Goes with the song idea perfectly. This is like one of my favorite bands ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
A still one of their best music videos in my opinion.
To watch this video...it shows how much you guys matured over the years with your music. It just gets better and better. This video rocks.
I Love Underoath ❤
Eu amo essa banda ❤
2024 let's gooooo
BEST. BAND. EVER.
Held captive, I'm a prisoner
In the back room where the water leaks
And I'm, oh, so cold
Command me on what to do
But we both know
Neither you or I are in control
There's nothing left for me here
I'm grabbing on to what's left of this hole
It's all too real, this can't be happening
Never again, ever again, will I say I'm okay
I'm scared of the fate that will become mine
Become mine
No time to talk, no time to talk
You know the drill
Under my desk, this can't be it
I'm only dreaming (I've got to be dreaming)
But I can't get up
No time to talk, not this time (This is my place)
This is where I arrange
Under my desk, this can't be it
I'm only dreaming (I've got to be dreaming)
But I can't get up
No time to talk, not this time (This is my place)
This is where I arrange
It's so funny how
We see things so clear
When we have no time left to live
So, lay back now
And take it in
I won't say a word
So, lay back now
And take it in
And I won't say anything
I can't believe how it feels
To stand here in this room
And feel like it's gonna blow
I think we're all gonna blow
Under my desk, this can't be it
I'm only dreaming (I've got to be dreaming)
But I can't get up
No time to talk, not this time (This is my place)
This is where I arrange
Well, I've got to be dreaming (I've got to be dreaming)
We've got to be dreaming (We've got to be dreaming)
We've got to be
I've got to be dreaming (I've got to be dreaming)
We've got to be dreaming
Please, don't wake me up
This is the end
This is the end
This is the end
Oh man, I still play this album on loop. Love this song. Can't wait for the new album to come out.
Gotta love Aaron...playing the drums and singing his heart out at the same time :)So cute!
Not the first time I've watched this, and won't be the last. I love this song, and the video is perfect for it.
Back again.
And you'll be back yet again
Охуенная песня припев огонь,так уж вышло что когда случился нервный срыв слушал ее и плакал,сцука всякое бывает...
WOW! That's the first time I've seen Underoath perform! I've another music video or two from Define the Great Line, but the ones I saw didn't show the band as much as this one
this has to be the first music video i seen when Aaron is singing without his drums
Some people are sprinkled with water, some get dunked in and out. But you just get thrown right in. lol I love that.
I was about to say "I love this song", but then I realized that would be an under statement. xD This song is soooo good!!
it's so funny how we see things so clear when we have no time left to live. perfect :)

5-30-2010. Ain't it great? James Smith is 28. Happy Birthday, James. I hope that you all can come perform in my area sometime (Colonial Life Arena, Columbia, SC). Think about it. Peace out.
i love this band
@Akidvid Totally agree about the screaming. I just feel like he's right next to me, talking to me.. Haha, kinda weird I just feel like I'm understanding him more than I understand other bands. Not just the words-but, the emotion behind them.

Why does the sound cut out around 4:00?
@777fordGT sad. this song is beast!!! as for all their other songs too!
Well they did record all of their videos for "Define the Great Line" at the same time, so thoughts from other videos were probably still lingering. That and they only had a limited amount of space to record in.
It doesn't matter what genre they are, they're amazing nonetheless.
hoppps 9 years ago...what year am i in
wait this was uploaded in 2015, what are you doing here. whats going on?
Cyberus Morphous they refresh it every once in awhile. The 10 year old and so on comments are original comments on the video. They re-publish shit on UA-cam sometimes so it'll come up on people who are subscribed's notifications and shows up in other people's suggestions and such
why isnt this on vevo?

good song
Yes
THIS IS THE END!!!!!!
THIS
IS
THE END !!!!!!!!
there in the studio as we speak
@deepaxowns
the title of the song is pretty self explanatory
How so? What is screamo, then? (I honestly don't really know, well if this isn't anyway...)
Jesus says to keep his commandments and that is one of them. You don't have to be baptized physically in order to be saved because once you accept Christ, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit. But a physical baptism is an outward sign of an inside work so it's like why wouldn't you want to do that anyways but it does say to do it.

i learned that from my music/Cle/PE teacher :))
Migs Capalad so he created gays as well. And he loves gays also. Bc he created them. Right?(:
Yeah, I think they filmed in it in the same place with the same company.
2:07 Love that part
you trust wikipedia, which anyone can edit, over myspace, which only they (and probably their label) can edit?
alright finally!!
These bands are great, and most of them are Christian:
Oh, Sleeper, Haste the Day, August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Thrice, Becoming the Archetype, Demon Hunter, Norma Jean, The Devil Wears Prada, Emery, Still Remains
All That Remains, Inhale/Exhale
Just some I can think of off the top of my head, ask me for more if you want to.
is it just me or is the video running like half speed but the audio is going regular?
Dominic Ornelas the whole video is bad quality, they just never improved it lol I'm fairly sure they just shot it and came out with this, it's not one of their more popular ones
years my friend
@xemnes94 i know. this whole band does.
Siiiick breakdown 1:40
