- I pulled up on an old co worker while he was making a delivery. Beer delivery is a very tough job but most beverage companies will hire new CDL drivers with no experience and you get to stay local. It could be a good opportunity for a new CDL driver. I hope you enjoy this video. Remember to LIKE COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE!!! Thanks for watching!!!
No matter what you gotta work nothing is easy I’d say don’t be afraid of hard work take it head on and gain the experience other opportunities will open up and always remember it could be worse
I appreciate that jack 💪🏾💯 have to remember on those hard days
That's a back breaking job my boi! Much respect to the big dawg!!🙏✊🏽💯🔥
It’s brutal bro..
I just got my permit, and that beverage world doesn’t look good for me. I have a interview with McLane today it’s night drops so majority stores will be closed. Drop and go.. I got friends that do Coke and I couldn’t do it, waiting to get checked in and filling coolers etc. I like your channel and that’s what made me say food because Coke and the beverage would is back breaking. Just take care of your body and you will be good. Keep sending these video Anthony!!
You made the right choice! Thanks for watching & good luck! 👍🏾
Rolling beer currently, 2 year vet Class A's in alabama. Having to find another job because the pay isnt right and a kid on the way. Its a fun job, but its tiring after awhile and sometimes not getting home till 9-10 pm when getting up at 3 am. Its good if youre looking for experience, but otherwise its kinda a bust
It’s the same story here in CA. The company breaks your back and doesn’t want to pay.
I deliver beer now and came from food service. It's a hell of a lot more physical the pay is a bit lower but it's way more consistent in terms of hours and home time. I made the change to be home more with my daughter and honestly it's tough but I wouldn't go back to food service.
I hear ya man. I delivered beer for 4 month’s prior to coming to food service and it was literally the hardest job I’ve ever had. Not to mention the pay was terrible. I’m making almost 30k yr more in food service and I work less. Plus I don’t have to merchandise all my product. Just drop & go in most cases.
@@imanthonytv it's very physically demanding, especially delivering to bars that have basement coolers. Carting kegs down uneven wooden staircases into small basements definitely ain't for everyone haha. Luckily in my state the regulations prevent us drivers from having to merchandise. 90% of my stops are drop and go outside of bars and select carryouts. If there's pricing visible to customers I can't rotate/merchandise or anything just leave it in the cooler. I usually go out with about 800 cases and 20-30 kegs so if I had to do all that at every stop it'd make for a longggg day 😆.
@@doomscrolling93 which state?

I just got hired on with a beer distributor in central florida. Starting pay is 70k a year plus incentives and benefits. I know food service is paying closer to 100k a year though
Can I ask what distributor you are with if you don't mind? I am looking for a Class A beer delivery job as well and there are several different distributors and I don't know where to start.
Rolled beer for over 10 years. Did it all, grocery stores, convenience stores and bars and restaurants. Never will I go back to rolling beer
It’s a lot of work for sure. I did all the places you mentioned except bars. However, I had 3 liquor stores, 2 in particular that used to get 5-7 pallets of beer that I used to have to break down & price the cases. Occasionally, they would send 1 or 2 salesman out to help if I was lucky. I hated it 🤦🏾♂️
Im considering going back. Did my first year of trucking there. At 16 per hr, 20-30 stops👎🏼 but now they pay $30 per hour and work about 8-9 hours home by 12-3 pm
Did you go back? $30/hr is good pay if you can get some OT in there. @@RR-fb3xd
The Caucasian Man in the blue shirt seems like a Really REALLY nice guy !!
Was thinking about switching from food service to beer , but idk now lol . The first thing on my mind was the pay cut . Plus I’m with the union for foodservice I mean the only think that kills you in food service is constantly looking for cases but you’ll start catching on quick on what your customers order if you have a route. Then you’ll see the case right at the bottom of the pallet lol . We digging all day . 😂. The only reason I was maybe looking into beer service is because of maybe working less hours . Me right now I’m pushing almost 70 hours a week almost every week with food service.
That’s crucial! Almost 70hrs a week? I worked way more hours delivering beer. I don’t know if beer delivery is the answer bro lol. But who knows..
They pay above 34 dollars per hour in our state
I'm a beer delivery guy myself. I would never go into food delivery, too much weight on a daily basis.
Beer is lightweight, yes I have to rotate and merchandise the product, but at the same time I have stores where I drop and go. I'm paid a daily rate + case pay.
Beer delivery is gravy, unless you're doing Kegs all day.
Beer is definitely not lightweight lol but to each his own. Having to push those loaded carts like you see in the video inside c-stores is no joke. I’ve had the opportunity to do both and for me speaking from my experience, beer was definitely harder with less pay. Much less pay! Glad you like it buddy. Appreciate the comment!
@@imanthonytv Depends where.. I've seen a lot of food service checks and other then the ones with 60 hours or more in a week the checks are similar. For my coke facility I average anywhere from 30-40 n hour every day. Some of what we call runners (very fast guys) average above 40 up to 50. Those guys will do like 300 a day but only work like 6 hours. Shits a toss up man. I even have a co worker that after he got his cdl he was sick of being a fill in driver and waiting on full-time driver spot so he went to sysco, he left 3 months later and came back to merchandising and restarted his seniority and waited till get got his full time driver spot. Most our drivers have above 15 years like I'm bottom guy with 5 years so that says something. There is some very shitty beverage driver jobs like I'm guessing the one u came from but believe me they're not all like that. Alot of our guys look at food service the same way u do us. I always say both are hard work we're both picking shit up and putting them down and rolling a dolly at the end of the day. 🤷♂️
@@cmb9059 I agree with you in regards to location playing a factor and being able to make more money depending on where you live. However, I’m willing to bet that if you compared food service drivers checks to beverage guy’s in most places you’ll find that food service guys make more money. I’m talking similar hours worked and everything. I’m sure there might be a few one offs where a beverage guy probably makes more but I just can’t see the majority number in y’all’s favor. Good points & good comment bro. I appreciate you watching!
@@imanthonytv how much food service guys make? My beer company starts at 70k plus p/y
beer delivery is easy money. 5 years right now and more to come. my average day is 1500 cases and have to work every bit of it. start at 7 and get home around 7 or 8. intense labor job but easy money with big checks at the end of the pay period
I might be hired soon as an assistant is it worth it? They will start me @ 18 per hr
@@sickwitlyrics it's definitely worth it. Yeah with summer it's long hours. In the summer I deliver 2k cases a day with one helper. We start at 7am and get done usually around 5pm 6 at the latest. We load out own truck in whatever order we want to do it (tractor trailer). It's great money. As a driver/route owner, I get paid quite a bit more than that but you'll still make some pretty good money. You'll be sore for the first few weeks but after that, you'll be good
@@Ironminer97 thank you I’m currently driving for Salvation Army for 14 no Cdl required. Thank you. They told me starting @ 5am till we finish. Tuesday- Friday.
@@sickwitlyrics yup, as a helper you don't need a CDL. It's always a plus to have it but not required for that position. It's pretty fun. It can be back breaking work if you have alot of kegs. 1/2 kegs are 190 lbs. A little word of advice, get steel toe boots. I've seen people break toes from accidently dropping a keg on their feet
I’m trying to find a food service job in my area Charleston SC who don’t require experience….Fresh out of school
Try delivering Ice. Chucking whole pallets of 200+ bags into an ice box on a hot day while everyone makes cheesy jokes: "Oh you got a cool job!"
I’d rather throw ice all day than beer. I delivered beer for over 7 years. Keg route for a lot of it. When your truck is full of 170lbs kegs and you gotta take those things up stairs, basements, etc and you have to rotate product…. It’s brutal 😅
Me too! Delivering beer is brutal! I hated it! My liquor stores were the worst. 7-10 pallets broke down & pricing cases for one account. Even with 2-3 salesman helping it still took 2-3 hrs to work. I don’t miss it at all. 🤦🏾♂️
@@imanthonytv yup! I know that feeling. And say goodbye to you back during the holidays. St Patricks day, 4th of July, Cinco de Mayo, New years, etc... those are the day when your pallet jack wouldnt even fit in the trailer hahaha
Lol exactly 😅
Must not be bad, if that's your complaint 😆
IdK man I’m in soda beverage delivery 7 up here in Ohio and I don’t see the beer guys working product . They come into the cooler and drop they stack and go. How do I know ? Because the stack is usually in the middle of the cooler blocking my pathway.
I wish I had it good like that! I have 600-1000 put away cases. We rotate product too. It’s insane the amount of volume we get, and for the pay.
I’m at Sysco , would I be dumb for switching from food service to beer ? The work I do now is backbreaking
I personally feel like going to beer delivery is a huge step backwards from foodservice. However, you have to make the best decision for yourself. Beer delivery in my opinion was a lot more physical than foodservice. Not to mention, I was getting paid significantly less money and working much harder. For me, 4 months of delivering beer was too long lol. Good luck bro.
I heard if you rub the belly you get good luck for the rest of the day.
If u had to choose would you go to Werner or beer distribution pay wise ?
If I’m being honest bro I’m going beer because they couldn’t pay me enough to go OTR. That’s just me though.
I’m starting at Gordon next week. Coming from Coca Cola.
Congrats on the new gig! 👍🏾
when you started, did you apply as CDL driver or delivery helper? i held my CDL for too long and i have no experience. i want to drive but no one's hiring me lol
CDL driver
@@imanthonytv ok thanks. it might help me if i start as a delivery helper and maybe move up. i had an interview with Dr.Pepper company yesterday but i really screwed up on a virtual interview. it's hard to tell them..oh by the way, i haven't drove trucks since 2016..is that okay? LOL.
Don't see you have experience bro.. say you have over three years experience driving otr and give any small company and name and friends phones 📱 number
@@Saidoromo2024 that's my old account. i have almost 2 years experience now. Dr.Pepper eventually hired me and i worked for them for 10 months. and then I did beer (Miller) for 8 more months. now i'm a tanker driver hauling fuel for 6 months. i never did otr but that's something i want to try in the near future but not 100% sure.
What company is this?
bek just got aome big raises 24$ starting 28$ if u been with them for 10+ years 30$ after 15

Ill take foodservice over beer delivery all day
100%…It’s really a no brainer
I'm thinking about switching over to food service from beer delivery.
Man, I’m not knocking beer delivery because they gave me an opportunity as a new CDL driver at the time. However, those guy’s are well underpaid for the amount of work you have to do. Food Service pays a lot more & the work is easier.
Thats the truth. Very underpaid. It's a revolving door.
I thought these guys get payed by the case... 🤷♂️ .. wouldn't he want days 'like this'... with 1k plus cases?
Terrible pay..We worked together
Homeboy is too old for that biz.
