I’m glad you spoke on the effect trainers have on trainees most of them act like they never were in your shoes being new to something especially in this trucking industry .
I deliver for a miller distributor and we have 3 day weekends, good pay and benefits, we don’t stock or rotate anything in our stores just drop and go. I’m a young guy and I love it definitely not for everyone though.
Union Beer Driver here. Thanks for this video and commentary Anthony! It also depends on the state you live in. I’m in Minnesota, so we do not deliver to DGs, our convenience stores only sell 3.2 beer as well which makes it easier. We only deliver “full strength” to bars, restaurants, liquor stores, and grocery stores that have a separate liquor location outside of the store - Target Liquor, Cub Foods Liquor, Costco, Sams. Thanks again!
Great video, thanks mate! I’m starting in beverage delivery in a few weeks, based in Sydney, Australia, 15 deliveries per shift, 10-12 hour shifts, $36 per hour for first 8 hours and then one and half for first two hours and double time for the last two hours. I’ll have an assistant so hopefully it’s not too bad, don’t know how it works here with stacking shelves or whether we don’t do it, will find out soon and update! Cheers 🚛
Dollar General alone made me want to quit Coke. I worked there over a year and was looking at food service but I got a bulk route and devided to stick with it. No more DGs thank God
Mannnnnn... Im doing beer delivery now. It fucking sucks but im just getting my experience. I was at coke for 4 days and the trainer i had was terrble. He was very aggressive and very condescending. It destroyed my confidence sometimes so I just left that bullshit. Getting my 6 months then trying to get into food service. Great video.
Sounds like you made the right move regarding Coke smh. You definitely have the right mindset. Stay positive, get your experience and keep it moving. Good luck bro.
So true about your trainer. I drove for Pepsi for about 2 months. My trainer would bitch and complain about everything I did. I had to wake up at like 3am and was stuck in the truck with this dude for 12+ hours a day constantly wining in my ear about my driving, how long I’m taking, etc. He annoyed the shit out of me and I wanted to sock him up so I just quit one day hahaha. Fuck all that. Let me do my job in peace man damn lol
@@imanthonytv The crazy part is that if I had cool trainer I might still be working there lol. I think they hired 6 new drivers and 5 of us quit. I was the last of the 5 that quit haha wild.
Wow! Some trainer’s don’t realize how much of an impact they have on a trainee. Good for you for moving on and finding something better. Sometimes things happen for a reason & often times we end up in a better situation.
A 12 hour day driving a truck, racing that HOS clock, goes by a lot faster than 12 hours working in a warehouse, or on an assembly line with a supervisor looking over your shoulder all day...
Well that’s the training process at most companies. The experienced driver is usually asked to train the new employee so essentially he’s the “trainer”.
Dollar General and Family Dollars are trash when I worked for a Budweiser distributor. I work for a Miller distributor now and DG and FD are better. So true about bud drivers, they will take up an entire cooler if you let them.
Question when you load up your dolly cart with boxes to bring into the customers freezer do you just pull the dolly from under the boxes and leave them the same way you stacked it in the first place or do you have to then move every box again off the dolly? if you understand what I’m saying? Because that means you have to move each box twice essentially if that’s the case
Hell na bro lol food service is definitely easier. I was at golden brands (coors light ) and now at Sysco. Man if u think stocking a 200-300 case stop in a small ass cooler is easier then food service you out your mind lol. Now In my area I did hear that one of the locations for beer as a union and they don’t stock nothing just drop the stuff like food service. In that case it can change things because digging in foodserve can be hell and you do get a lot more stops.
Something just bumping docks. I would go work for Walmart if I could be home everyday or have a schedule similar to what I have now. My wife not going for any job where I’m away for more than 2x a week! 😂
So I have another question. In one of your previous videos in the comments section you said you worked a 2 day route and were off Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. If I did that would I be required to stay in a hotel?
Also I been in the beer service coming up on 7yrs just recently switched over to Miller Coors Light and like you said about not being happy I was not happy at the Budweiser distributor I was at so I had to make the switch!
I have 7 stops total. All of them are key drops. I work 4 days a week I’m off Wed,Sat, & Sun. I run a 2 day route so day 1 (mon) my schedule is from 2:30am-noon. Day 2 (tue) is from 11pm-8:30am.

That’s the same structure as the company I drive for 👏🎉
Typical miller guy, doesn’t do any of the actual work 😂😂
Its alot more to it than what they show

@@bernardogibbs Bro! I had the same exact experience with Pepsi! Man, I was out of there after 10 days. Double piss on that job and my "trainer".
Reyes harbor gang 🤟🏻 Huntington Beach California.
The trainer working hard and the trainee talking 🤣 the trainer like idc about your grandma stack that 🍺.
😂
A 12 hour day driving a truck, racing that HOS clock, goes by a lot faster than 12 hours working in a warehouse, or on an assembly line with a supervisor looking over your shoulder all day...
Sure does
I think this is the first time I have seen your frustration in a video lol talking about them Dollar General stores.
🤦🏾♂️😂
Definitely relationship with customer helps big delivering beer makes long day smooth
Us Budweiser guys need more space 🤣
If I don’t work at the store I’m not stocking their shelves lol.
Maybe do a video going over a pay stub or pay again ..
I worked at Pepsi for about 10 days. And there's no such thing as a trainer, you're just put with an experienced driver.
Right 😂
Maybe a video on how get your cdl’s thru a company or the easy route
Keep up good work
Thanks 👍🏾
I’m in liquor delivery and it’s ruff as ever! But I enjoy it every single day
Bro i like your content you put out
Appreciate you watching bro 💯
Dollar general easy for Dr Pepper Snapple, everything go up!
Yeah. All you're stocking is a case or two and that's like a heavy load for DG.
How is it at Dr pepper, Snapple? I work at pepsi it sucks pays low commission.

Yes, I just pull the dolly from underneath cases still stacked. That’s it!
5:50 The term we use is "Scooping"

My thoughts exactly. 😂🤷🏾♂️
With your experience, what CDL job would be less dreadful and have the most longevity?
Something just bumping docks. I would go work for Walmart if I could be home everyday or have a schedule similar to what I have now. My wife not going for any job where I’m away for more than 2x a week! 😂
@@imanthonytv lol right on brother!
Beverage gang👌🏾
Can you please show how the job is done
So I have another question. In one of your previous videos in the comments section you said you worked a 2 day route and were off Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. If I did that would I be required to stay in a hotel?
Yes, I layover Mon & Thur night.
I have soo much to say about the truck drives for miller coors where I’m at
I can only imagine brother 😂
Do you make the orders for the routes?
DG takes an hour to deliver 50 cases
Good video breakdown. Do you think your answer is skewed based on your route in food service?
Of course. My current job, pay, route, schedule, equipment, etc is all better than my beer delivery experience.
I drop my helper off at dollar generals lol
Also I been in the beer service coming up on 7yrs just recently switched over to Miller Coors Light and like you said about not being happy I was not happy at the Budweiser distributor I was at so I had to make the switch!
Dropping your helper off at DG is how you do it lol. Good for you for switching to a place where you’re not miserable.
Got an offer to work there and got an offer to work at pfg whats your thoughts
DG’s are trash bro! Slowest check in I’ve ever seen.
Facts bro!
You do a lot key 🔑 drops ???
Does this mean you work night ??
What is your schedule??
I have 7 stops total. All of them are key drops. I work 4 days a week I’m off Wed,Sat, & Sun. I run a 2 day route so day 1 (mon) my schedule is from 2:30am-noon. Day 2 (tue) is from 11pm-8:30am.
@@imanthonytv that’s a great schedule can rookie drivers get overnight routes
@Bryan Jones it’s possible
@@imanthonytv have you had this route the whole 3 years? And yeah I remember my instructor in school spazzing with grinding gears or missing gears 🤣
Yes. It’s been tweaked a couple of times over the years but same route.
I’d like to know which one you think is better on your back with me being over 40 and a back injury 2years ago
Man, honestly I wouldn’t recommend either one if you’ve already had previous back problems.
@@imanthonytv oh my god 😂 I figured that thanks for the videos your really helping us a lot
All the Dollar stores are the worse.
They suck. you have to take everything out the cases.
What is your typical work week? 4 days on 3 days off?
Yes
F dollar general
It sucks. period
