    Tip for cutting the holes in the aqua panel is to use a laser level to mark the position of the holes then dry fit your board to get the position. Works a treat.

    Usually you make videos to sell things but this time it was a great video and very informative. Thanks
    But I’d like to know how to levelled the shower valve in the recess even tho the brick work chase became uneven? This is a problem I have sometimes and don’t know the best way to do it. Can you explain please. Thanks

    You can chase Thermalite neatly (and with less dust) using a multi tool with a regular cutting blade

    I am in a planning to build a new bathroom on our new side extension. I want to install a steam and shower room including basin and WC. Will you advice at this stage to build a stud wall and tile the ceiling :)

    The shower arm sealing by screwing in to match the required angle and not a certain tightness (relying on some thread sealant) is a terrible idea. Is there any other more reliable fittings that can be used? Cheers.
    Also, Are you installing it upside down? The feeds look like they should coming from above to make the bath outlet at the bottom?

  • @Tigerratcat

    How do you know the screw fittings to the mixer aren’t going to leak before soldiering fittings on? Is there a way to fool proof or leak test? Or do you trust the thread sealant/Teflon tape?

    Do you not need to flush pipework to prevent crud from blocking up filters?

    I'm after a shower like this with the 3 outlets for my bathroom. Which would you recommend one like this or the mira unit that's mounted under the bath.

    Nice job . I’m not one for hiding compression fittings but i guess the male female threads in the valve assembly are no different

    James how you extend the outlets if youve been done over by the plasterer????

    • @plumberparts

      Use a compression fittings stripped down or a 1/2" coupling (male to female)

    Is there any particular reason why you solder the joints compared to silver brazing ?

    • @skoronesa1
      @skoronesa1 2 роки тому

      Brazing is overkill, more expensive/more time. Brazed joints are only needed for extra strength when buried.

    another method of working out which outlet does what is to just blow through the cold inlet instead of water like james said. you dont get wet then.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful. I'm a bit of a novice so this may be a silly question... but in the part where you fit the 1/2" bsp to 15mm elbow, how do you fit it so that it points the right way? I've dry fitted on the valve I have, but the hot and cold elbows end up pointing in funny directions. Do I need to use washers in between the valve and elbow?
    Thanks!

      I use the loctite 55 for this, wind it to the right angle required. It usually has a bit of play back if needed without compromising the seal, unlike going back on PTFE for instance.

    How do you stick your bricks together?

  • @scottsparky1
    @scottsparky1 2 роки тому +2

    Design fault the main shower head should come out the top not the side the bath one now has to cross over to get to the bath

    English ppl do the weirdest stuff, why would you run plumbing on an exterior wall to begin with? If global warming reverses, gunna have to worry about those pipes freezing.

    • @_Miner
      @_Miner 2 роки тому +2

      Not likely to freeze as British houses are generally double Brick with and air gap or insulation between. Only way pipe usually freeze is if the property is vacant and no heating on / full pipes.

      @leeedwards3783 Рік тому

      Always find it difficult to fit concealed shower valves into bricks. Maximum chase depth is 1 3rd the depth of the brick so about 30mm.
