Sam & Seleena; I love you both very much and am over the moon proud of you!! Thank you Kyle, for giving them a chance to share their story. You have been an amazing addition to our family, and we thank you for everything.💖
Thank you for opening your life to us and your honesty, it must have been hard sharing such personal stories with the world. Your story is absolutely beautiful. I wish you and your family all the best, with many amazing years to come and wonderful memories to be had ❤
Thank you Di-Anne for giving Sam & Seleena a loving home : as A Vietnamese mother of an only son my heart aches and joy as the same time . Beautiful story
@@coachdms thank you for your message. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to have such beautiful children in my life. I can’t begin to put into words the love I feel in my heart for each.
Kyle le has really grown as a filmmaker. I like the combination of shots where they're sitting on the chair and telling theirs stories and the "live" shots. It feels more relaxed. The somewhat slower pace adds a lot more depth to the whole story i think. Great series btw!
Very good editing and interviews, Kyle. Getting the background and following this family's story has been fascinating. All the best to these young ladies and their mother, she is an angel.
The eldest and youngest are like important pillars, they set the family boundaries. They are strong, rational and much grounded. Lots of love for the extended family.
I was hoping not to cry but I couldn’t hold it in!!!! I love this story, so happy that you have an amazing adopted family so do I. My adopted family is my family is my all!! Can’t wait for the rest of the videos!! ❤️
Beautiful girls with beautiful nurturing foster mom . ALL beautiful siblings separated for a reason to grow up more extended family and grown up so wise and uunderstanding forgiving loving beautiful hearts. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Very beautifully said. These girls and the mom are awesome. I fostered a 9month old and almost two year old old during covid shutdown last year. It’s not easy, but it’s so fulfilling. Blessings to all of them.
When I was younger, I used to pray to God for me to be adopted because my home was very toxic and had a very rough childhood 😔 which led to rough adulthood now...am now 21 and still in the toxic home!! That's why am so happy for them atleast they grew up with a happy adopted family and they were given another chance at life❤The home you grow in forever shapes your life!
This whole storytelling & documentary was awesome, outside of the whole thing i think what make us connect is the people in it too, those siblings are all awesome & thanks Kyle for bringing us this.
These women have so much love and understanding. They’re so smart as well, all of them. Thank you very much for sharing their stories. The part that touched me the most was when they talked about not fitting in. My parents are different races so I can that you’re too much for one side and too much for the other. Anyway, beautiful, thank you for sharing.
After a 2nd watch of this video, I've come to the realisation that the Canadian system for adoption works really well, taking into account how well all the 5 siblings turn out to be. Congratulations Di-Anne for raising the 2 girls into fine young ladies. Canada oh Canada - what a great country you are! 😍
well, that isn't quite the case. Many adoptions are closed. And why isn't there more support for parents struggling to take care of their families. There is the 60s scope, when Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their Indigenous families. Most were good families, but didn't live up to Canadian standards. For instance, a grandmother was raising her grandchildren in the traditional way. They lived in a loving family. One day a social worker came to visit and saw what she said was dirty rags hanging from the rafters of the log house. Except they weren't rags, they were elk meat drying in the rafters, that have always been done that way for many generations. Today, Indigenous children are the majority of children in care. Some say it is another version of residential schools IE forced assimilation (aka cultural genocide). Sure there are many loving adoptive and foster homes, but there are many who use the system to make money. And many abusive. So best to keep families together or at the very least let the children know their biological families as they grow up. If the birth parents are beyond redemption re: addiction, well, there are grandparents, cousins, aunties and uncles. Respect these young people and their adopted parents. But they know nothing about their culture and their history. It shouldn't be one or the other.
From the beginning of their life to the life they have now it's amazing how popular these kids must be and the people that brought these kids up.....amazing..they have very good looks from there parents that brought them in this world and what amazing story ...also thanks Kyle....
I m very impressed with children's maturity, they forgive, accept and love. They make happiness for themselves , their siblings, moms and dads. I ve not heard Dianne story yet, she must be great too. Love covers a multitude of sins. May God gives us the grace to love, as who he is, love.
Wow! We have so much in common! I was adopted by Christian Caucasian family as well, grew up in Southern California. I’m Korean as well, with my three biological sisters. I’m called the Korean cowboy since everyone hears my loud country music in my truck! Like you,it was hard growing up in a private Christian school with all Caucasians. But I has loving parents and had a wonderful upbringing! Stay safe and always follow your heart!
Ok. Question I had from the first video I think got answered. When Sam & Seleena popped zit on dad's face was that bc that was their thing or from anger with him?
Can't wait for the fifth child reunion. But I'm curious to know more about the dad and the situation with his children getting taken away by child welfare. Seems they were taken away at different times and their ages varies too.
I hope now that you met your parents and your siblings the storm has passed because for me I will always be fighting the storm and I'm like you when you look at me you can't tell how bad I'm hurting but damn remember when you got to cry you got to cry let it out I'm very proud of where you're at in your life now good luck baby girl
First I have to say Thanks to "Kyle Le" to put up this video up to You Tube. However, the biggest admire I must give to the adopted mom. without her love , care ... those kids would be more suffering for their chaos life. You are an Angel above the Angel
We got lots of mixed vietnamese people here in the US. pretty much most families in USA have mixed relatives nowadays. I'd never imagine but my family has so many mixed kids. from vietnamese Cambodian to blond hair and bluest eyes to Indian to everything else. Historically humans are all mixed anyways as we all have migrated through the years.
Good on her..Why not study, get a profession, provides still for the children. Its so good that these lovely girls say how happy they were growing up.So sad to suffer of your origins..to fit in😪...and cruelty of people to say you were not wanted..😪I had a cruel adopted so call mother who used to say that to me..its was my adopted Dad who wanted me...Thank you for this video.
Yes, I always feel they could invest in the biological parents having the therapy and support they needed to be better parents and adopt the mum and children, not just the children. They don't know for sure what their mum went through or why she could not care for them and yet they are so forgiving of their father who was AWOL. Maybe they know more about mum than we do or maybe emotionally they can't imagine accepting her when they are so close to their adoptive mum, but she only adopted five, not all, and when babies are born biological parents don't make that choice. I think no one can imagine making space for bio mum. Sad. Perhaps she would destabilize them, but cps isn't often that kind once you are in their radar.
Yes, mum had a whole family who loved them too, and I don't think they want to imagine that she is also human and maybe loved them as much as their dad or more because he seems to have been AWOL, he sounds irresponsible, and we don't truly know mum's issues or suffering or truth. They don't want to betray adoptive mum or themselves by accepting that perhaps their adoption was unfair to their bio mum.
Hi Kyle.. what a piece of works.!!! I love all your documentaries works, very original! The flow of creating drama, the metaphors, the lines combined you picked, and the cinematography wrapped your emotional works perfectly! And of course your commitment and idealism. Salute..!
