His Dad seems to be in good spirits though. If it was me I would be happy about this. When you love someone it's not about you or if they even remember you, it's about them. If he was angry and hostile then that would of course be much harder. I would be happy if this is the worst he gets. It's really about his happiness not who he remembers.
Ed’s happy disposition is an enormous blessing. Most people with Alzheimer’s tend to get angry because they’re confused and frustrated but Pop rolls with it. 🙌🏼 🙌🏼

Sadly bc of finances I had to stay at my Job so made the difficult choice to place him in care 😢. What you are doing for your Dad Dan is something you will always be grateful youve done. Seeing how caring your Dad is reminds me of my own. Always looking out for his loved ones. Take care . My heart goes out to,you, your Dad and the family. These are not easy times.

Or what my Mom used to say "what ever blow's your skirt " or "whats all the folderol" I miss her essence; I can see her in my daughter's; she had them all summer; she'd organize Tea party's for them ; she taught them English too; after she passed I found a lot of birthday cards; the one's that I missed and wondered why I didn't get a card from my Mom that was a red flag for my Dad and I.
My Father had Dementia. I cared for him for five year's until his passing. Some day's my father wouldn't remember me. He would tell me he didn't have a daughter. I have five brother's. My father would tell me he didn't have any children. Those were tough moment's. I hope Grandpa Ed came back around today and remembered you Dan. Your a wonderful son. God Bless🙏❤
Dan, I understand you and is frustrating at times. My mom would ask me several times who I was and will treat me as a Ms. But when my husband would come in, she would light up like a Christmas tree and call him by his name, at that moment, I felt devastated.

It breaks my heart watching these videos. My mother was a picks patient. Dementia is so hard. It took my mother 20 years before she passed. She had great long term memories but couldn't remember anything short term. God bless you and your family for taking care of him. It's only going to get harder. And it can be so frustrating at times. You have a lot of support in your family. I didn't and went through guilt because I needed help. It was so hard. I hate to say it but after 20 years of everything I was so relieved when she finally passed. I did my best. But I didn't have the support with family you have. Thanks for sharing the videos. People really need a better understanding of dementia. It's so hard to lose someone that's still with you. 🤗🤗🤗
I am so sorry you didn't have a good support system with your Mom. My Mom got sick 3 months after I lost my Son to an unknown cause. I could barely breathe but she needed me. We were able to prolong her life by 4 years. After she passed my body and mind collapsed. I now have to use a wheel chair trips outside my home. No one speaks of the toll elder care has on the caregives body.

Consider yourself a super woman. After my mother passed I helped a dialysis patient for 4 years. 4 miles from my house. He passed Oct. 2, 2023. I don't know why I have a heart to help people but I do. It's like today valentines day. I don't celebrate any man made holidays that cause stress and depression. So many people are suffering and need help. You should do something for someone just because not because of a holiday.. All I have to say to people is smile, help someone when you see they need help. Stop being in such a hurry for a job that they will replace you with someone else tomorrow. People matter. I understand people greiving and cemeteries. But there are people alive that are lonely that would love flowers.
My mother-in-law is going through this now, and while it's heart breaking and so sad, it has moments like this that crack us up. Ed is so funny. I would have loved to have met him when he was younger, I think he must have been an awesome father to have a family so dedicated to him like this. I understand completely..you lost your mom long before she left physically. My Mom is the same almost 16 yrs.
