Josh: Mittens are gifted by "women in your life that are of a certain age that love to knit." Dulce: I'm going to make you a red beanie and matching mittens 🤣
In NYC the issue isn’t the heat, it’s the humidity! It elevates all the worst smells of the city, and if you’re taking the subway or walking (aka not rich) you’re wilted when you get to your destination. Summer in NYC is the worst! I also totally agree that winter is better because you can always throw on another hoodie or blanket, but you can only take off so many clothes when it’s hot without getting arrested
Dulce, you are very much respected as a comedian! We just don't send you DM's cause we not disrespectful ^^ But your real respectful fans do exist girl 😘
As an Oregonian, I can tell you temperature differences of 30-50 degrees between afternoon and night are pretty normal for the West Coast, lol. I just about died when I lived in Korea because not only it was humid in the summer, but when it was hot, it was hot 24 hours a day. I cannot tell you how shocked I was stepping out of the building at 6 am and it being like 90 degrees and humid. Never in my life had I experienced that in Oregon, lol. Even in the hottest summer it's going to cool down at night.
Josh been coming correct lately. winter!!! i can warm up faster than i can cool down. i was born in Upstate NY but live in Cali and the reason i LOVE Cali is the fact of having summer in the day and fall at night. i HATE being hot!
@13:31. The India in IPA refers to the country. Back when England was sending sailing ships there, they would brew versions of the standard pale ale with extra hops and higher alcohol-- both of which helped preserve the beer longer to last the long slow boat ride to India.
Thank you for another great episode! Dulce is a great comedian. I don't think Josh will ever win a debate against Dulce. Josh is a gentleman. I like his tone of voice and his smile. I vote for summer ☀️ #holdup
I'm a goddess sized woman, too. I prefer winter to summer. I can wear my whole wardrobe in winter if I want, but in summer it's impossible to go out wearing what's comfortable: nothing. It's just me...
In the winter in especially northern states you have to deal with shoveling, driving in the snow, and slipping while walking on ice. Also the sun belt overall has been growing at much faster rate than the northern states.
Even worse than driving in snow is having to deal with everyone else, even people who have been through 60 winters with snow, somehow forgetting every gyotdang year how to drive in snow. 🤦🏽♀️
Topics for consideration: What to stream: TV shows vs Movies Best Virtual Assistant: Siri vs Alexa Best Theme Park Ride: Whichever y'all prefer Best First Date Location Loving the podcast! Keep it up!
I grew up in Las Vegas where summer was like living in a clothes dryer every year. Hot, windy, and dry. But I would never pick winter over summer. I hate being cold. Now I live in Southern Cali and summers are perfect by the beach. Rooftop parties, sandals and shorts.
Got bad news today. Lost a friend, but you two cut into the sadness a little. Dulcé & Josh, I am feeling such grandmama love for you both. 😘😘😘 Thank you.
I appreciate Dulcé's honesty right at the beginning. That is why I agree with her because they should just be able to do what they do they don't have to take your criticism. As long as it's making people laugh that's the idea.
The grind is officially a running gag in these debates and we'll never get tired of it cuz I'm dying from the absolute creative improv going on there 😂😂😂😂
I'm with Josh. It's winter. Barney literally had a song called winters wonderful... He has three versions of it. Winters Wonderful it's so beautiful Christmas time is here Snow is Sparkling trees are glistening it's that time of year. I love to see the Christmas lights the decorations too. Cuz it's the wonderful season full of special things to do. Wearing hats and coats and scars each hand has got a glove. All our friends and family too are filled with extra love. We love to see the Christmas lights the decorations too cuz it's the wonderful season full of special things to do.
first off, Dulce, we respect you - you're brilliant and we'd never try to suggest a joke or give notes! And how many people are gonna knit a beanie and mittens for a friend and then agree to line the beanie with satin?? We love you guys so much! In SF winter is fabulous because it's not as crowded with tourists, plus summer is often foggy and windy (which we also love). It's honestly hard to hate any season here. Gotta say though, winter is calm and summer often comes with wildfire risks. But having lived in Atlanta during an ice storm and in Illinois and NY, winter can be awful. Maybe a Thanksgiving best and worst dish episode...
Dulce is perfection 💜 Also, I love summer, and I hate winter. I have a theory that most people enjoy the time of year that they're born in. I'm an August baby and I live in Texas so I experience the full force summer... and I'll take the extreme heat over slightly too cold- any day!
I've always been Pro-Summer ☀️ because I hate driving in ICE 🧊 during the winter. Can you do a travel one? HOLD UP! ✈️ Flying Vs Driving 🚗 (travel only by plane or road tripping)
"Snow don't know when to leave..." Dulce. Come to Colorado, girl. It can snow like crazy one day and then be gone the next day. Or you can get a light sparkly dusting in the morning that is gone by the afternoon. Also, winter is not freezing here for a solid 3 months. You can have sunny days where you're out in a cute Tshirt doing your thing. (I should stop selling the greatness. Everyone is going to want to move here, ha!) I'd much rather be cold than hot, so I'm with Josh on this one. You can always add layers to be cozy but you can't take everything off and suddenly feel cool enough. I lived in Arizona for 4 years and nearly collapsed in the heat. I don't know why anyone enjoys feeling like they live on the sun. I'm so glad it's fall. I couldn't wait for summer to be over!
Somebody probably already answered this, but IPA originates from the imperialist times of trade from India to the UK. The bitter/grassy/citrus flavor in beer is from hops. It was found that using hops in beer helped lengthen the shelf life of beer for sailors. Native Americans did make some beer, cider, and wine (unrelated to IPA, just answering this as well) and these were primarily used in ceremonies rather than as a social convention. Liquor was introduced here by Europeans as it requires distillation in a still and native Americans hadn't done distillation before. Love you guys
Honey bun figuratively and/or literally. Oooohh I didn't realize like Dulcé he was into cuffing season. Although I quite agree with him that you can have someone with you and then just like warming up during the winter time it's beautiful. Gotta have that special someone who you can share the winter with. I personally don't but then again where I'm from it's not that cold it's like yeah we get cold winds at night. But it's not like snow level cold also that's another reason why winter is so cool you get to make snowmen have snowball fights that's going to be cool.
You forgot about winter, freezing your Hiney off. Pulled multiple blankets on. Watching the gauge on the oil tank. Many of us Yanks head south in winter. Afraid we will croak freezing in our homes covered by that ton of blankets. Fatter in the spring. Like an old hibernating bear. Retirement will need a plan. Someplace warm.
Actually, I was bprn and raised in the Midwest. Living on east coast. Thinking about retirement locations, not sure where I want to go. My asthma would love the desert, but I like water. Can't stand humidity, so no south. For the moment, I like south coast new England--10 degrees warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer, only have to shovel snow 1-2x/winter. Yes, there is humidity. That and the lack of fall color=only downfalls
That was very very african american of you josh. Only my ppl would request du-rag material as a beenie liner lolol 😂. But even more hood was the excitement and appreciation of the task shown by dulce. I’m a 💯% kinfolk and i’ve seen the hood ideas wheels start to spin plenty,so trust dulce is officially on a beenie mission ijs !!!!…🤷🏾♂️🤣
What about hospital corners vs. leaving the top bedsheet loose? My husband and I cannot agree on this aspect of making the bed. Or maybe just making the bed in general.
Do not be surprised if we see him with a beanie and a mittens in one of the episodes coming soon we'll know where it came from. Dulcé you a champ. literally the first episode we've seen him in a red beanie I think it was
They won't necessarily leave when Trevor does (unless you have some inside info or they've said something). Plenty of writers and correspondents have stuck around when Daily Show hosts change
i'm all about winter, but that's because i'm in arizona and the temps are perfect during the day (50-60 degrees F) and it gets really cold at night... just delightful
Hey Josh and Dulce, I love the podcast. In honor of Veterans’ Day, how about an episode on Air Force (my service) vs Navy (my brother’s service). It obvious to me which one is better, and that’s the Air Force. Why? Because when the Air Force started grinding, they realized there wasn’t enough ocean to grind in, so we took to the skies! We keep grinding every day! Lol. Love the show!
Great episode! Also, Indian in IPA is as in the country. When the British colonized India, they started importing pale ale from England preserved with strong hops. So Dulce was totally right when she said it was for a white man’s palate, and they are nasty 😂

Whew, this one is tough. I say neither (I love spring or fall, could that be another Hold Up challenge?) but winter has it's fine points and summer too sooooo you both are totally right!!!!!
My black ex-fiancé (she/hers) drank ipas. I hate em. The Indian Pale Ale (India not indigenous people) comes from the period of history when brits would ship the ale from India around to Europe, and if they didn’t prepare it a specific way it would spoil by the time it got there. Produces a different flavor, and people got used to it. Also contributes to why it’s a mostly white beverage
I have to side with Dulce on this one 💯. Summer has the best activities. You can be outside and be comfortable without wearing too many clothes. Bonus-- people can see your cute outfit. You don't have to cover it up with a coat. Every year I am in denial when summer is clearly coming to an end. It takes a while for me to come to terms and get a coat out because I don't want it to be cold outside already.
Dulce, I love how you wear your natural hair without trying to make it look like loose curls. Rock your 4 type hair proud! Loving it.
Natural hair are ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It only took me two episodes to realize which side Josh is on, every single time 🤣🥶
summer: too hot, too many bugs, can't wear sweaters. winter: too cold, too many layers, spring: too wet, still cold. Autumn: just right.
What autumn? What spring? In Michigan, it’s either hot or cold!😂
Agreed
I'm wit Josh on this one. Love my winter outfits. Josh you better bring it for the mountains episode.
Josh: Mittens are gifted by "women in your life that are of a certain age that love to knit."
Dulce: I'm going to make you a red beanie and matching mittens 🤣
I just want her to make him a sweet potato pie so he can have one that isn’t trash Lolol
Team Winter ❄️ ❤
Now I gotta see the beanie and mittens... ❤ you guys! Have a great day!

Agree about the humidity. Not about winter
Fall and spring are the real best seasons in the city. The height of summer and the coldest months of winter are the worst.

Seasonal depression keeps winter in the trash bin for me
Josh Johnson a.k.a Mr Grind Time, Daily Grind Don. Mr. 2 Loanz. Mans out here grinding like the Clipse. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for another great episode! Dulce is a great comedian. I don't think Josh will ever win a debate against Dulce. Josh is a gentleman. I like his tone of voice and his smile.

Oh, Yeah Summer Rocks!!🤣
I'm a goddess sized woman, too. I prefer winter to summer. I can wear my whole wardrobe in winter if I want, but in summer it's impossible to go out wearing what's comfortable: nothing. It's just me...
True. I had to wear leggings with most of my dresses this summer. It might as well have been fall.
Imma need Josh to do a meditation sound track for a 🥷. Dulce can yell WOOOOW WAKE UP! Namaste to end it!😅😅😅
I was leaning winter because I'm an introvert like Josh lol but for mental health I HAD to go summer
ALSO, I love Josh going off about the "grind" lol
Me too! When he went in on that grind rant! I laughed all day off that!!
Yesss, my thoughts exactly 🙌🏽!
We experience all four seasons (Indiana) but since I have a December birthday coming up on the 5th (fall, actually), I'm winter. With you, Josh.
Chicago is egregious. LOL. I felt that.
I'm with Josh. Winter is litttt. Cozy is a peak state of being.
IM WINTER FOR LIFE!!!! LOL! Im with you Josh!🤝🏾💯💯

"But that's where they're FROM!" - Dulcé on IPAs "living" at TJs 😂💀
I love how she was just rolling with it and then he said "yeah get it" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm telling you they'd bounce off each other so well
Dulce kept it calm for so long then she got HEATED. This is what i'm here for.
So glad I found your podcast. You two are so funny!

Dulcé needs to try a heated pool in the snow. Best times.

🤣🤣🤣👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Love Dulce & Josh so much!! This has become my favorite, thank you!!👏🏼👏🏼😂😅💗✌🏼
The minute Dulce said NY is "hot wrong" I knew what she was talking about
I am leaning towards Josh on this one for one major reason-BUGS. I don't have to worry about bugs during the winter because they are hibernating
NGL think I'll miss these 2 most when Trevor leaves! Dulce makes me snort laugh @ everything bc her straight delivery then pow 😂

Winter> Fall> Spring> Summer.
This is the correct answer
I need to see a Dulcé/Matteo Lane collab now. 😍😍
Halloween vs. Christmas!
I love winter when it’s summer, and I love summer when it’s winter. I like aspects of both. In the winter, cozying up with my fur babies and all that. In the summer I live my garden and not having to wear socks all the time.
I love NYC summers!!! Free concerts in the park. Wintertime in a cabin by some mountains with a fire pit and then of course the proper gear.
My suggestion is natural hair vs. Relaxed hair OR natural or weaves?
The grind is back I love it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great episode! A few ideas:
Sleep temp: cold vs. warm
Pizza toppings?
Milkshakes vs. slushies?
Halloween: dress up or not?
Is ketchup allowed on hot dogs?
