My fiancé and I had a seven hour day date that ended up also including the evening. We went to a botanical garden, coffee shop, and dinner at a restaurant. The only thing planned was the botanical garden. 😂 I feel like day dates are the best since you can extend the date to be as long as you want it to be and keep adding things to do after the first place.
Come to think of it, my wife and I started with a long day date too.
I love how passionate you both get when you pick your sides lol. And on any of your topics the fact is that both sides are equally valid makes it all the better when you really get into it 😂

Mr. Johnson - I came into this video totally on your side. Day dates with the man who became my best friend and husband for nearly 24 years, were the most revealing about our chemistry and his personality. And the day into night dates is a real thing that was priceless! But Ms. Sloane's Escape Room scenario and list is super persuasive and, if I was dating now, that would be on my list of "must do" for any new guy.
So we're on team josh's side today. I feel like with a day date there's just more activities to do. With a dinner date where you're like it's specific to food and at nighttime cuz dinner. That one feels like a curated experience

My fiancé proposed to me on a picnic date at our favorite park. Our favorite park has a lake on either side of the path with wooden bridges. Lots of wildlife like turtles and fish swimming underwater, ducks and swans swimming around the water.
It was the same park we went to during the beginning of the pandemic when I was sad how we couldn’t go on dates anymore since I’m high risk for COVID-19. We had gotten pastries from our favorite bakery and had a COVID-19 friendly date in the park.
For the proposal, my partner had bought a cute red checkered picnic basket and blanket. He set it up before asking me down the trail to the water. He also got a dozen red roses that reflected in the water. Our favorite pastries. And then made a scrapbook of our last few years together with photos and handwritten notes and drawings.
Of course I said yes!
So day dates are my favorite. ❤

I'm with Josh, I feel like you get to know a person better during the day and I don't feel as pressured to do bedroom things. Alas, men rarely want to see me during the day.
True story: I had a 'day date' with a guy who initiated by declaring he would pick the time; I was to pick the place. Deal! He chose 11:00AM; I chose a funky place in my neighborhood of a house converted into a restaurant that only served breakfast & lunch [affordable] He ordered a cup of coffee; I ordered an egg + toast w/ a cup of tea [$5 total]. Wait-staff came to table 3 times without him making a single indication of paying the 'tab'. On the wait-staff's 4th approach, I set out a $20 bill and said, mine only! I left a $10 tip and I never saw the guy again!
Josh, knowing someone is able to be quiet is KEY!. Also, I like picking an event I like or always wanted to see/do.
I think movie or theater dates are a bad choice for a first date. But seeing how many guys would shuffle around or sigh dramatically was useful information.
I think day dates, walks in the park, picnics, museums, art exhibits, exploring nice parts of your city that are scenic are wonderful. I also don't drink, doesn't discount night activites because there are some cool events or actions you can do at night., but there are going to be more activity scenario items that I'll enjoy during the day.

My first planned date with my now spouse was a brunch date because it worked with our schedules. However, we sporadically had drinks the night before. Brunch dates (day dates) are my recommendation for people who are getting to know a person because both people can move around as freely as they want if it doesn’t go well. Also, brunch dates in my city are pricey 🤑
When you're meeting for the first time, day dates all the way... Just less complicated and you've not invested anything unless you both click with each other... Night dates are after you realize you want to spend time with each other... imho
Most women I know prefer day dates for safety reasons, so I was surprised that Dulcé prefers night dates as the 1st date.

I like day dates better. They're more fun and creative. And I find going to a bar or dinner as a first date way too intimidating. I've only done those kinds of dates with guys that I was already in a relationship with.

I like an experience date so I lean towards day dates. But I agree with Dulce that usually means low-effort coffee dates. I don't drink coffee so I can't be bothered to put on makeup for that nonsense. I don't enjoy meal dates though; I can feed myself. Let's do something and then go get food.

I’m team Josh on this. Day dates are best for all the reasons esp. making it last on to the evening if it’s going well. Also after we had kids we would take advantage of our kids being in school and take a day off get some loving in. Get lunch or massage and take a nap all before kids come home. Brilliant.
No 5pm is not a day date especially in the winter because the sun goes down and it’s so late that you’re going to eat dinner around that time anyway.

I would do day dates. Simply because I would be driving myself (I don't drive at night because of an astigmatism) because I'm not relying on a man to get me back because THATS how you get murdered.
Winning points on both sides here. Day date for the win. Also escape rooms. You could do an escape room at like 3 or 4 pm. That takes an hour. If it goes well maybe take a walk for a bit like through a park, through a zoo. Or maybe drinks. Still going well get dinner and it has turned into a dinner date. If the escape room goes sideways you can get out of there and the evening isn't ruined. I have to say no to the water ski date, unless you've been together a while. If it's a first date that's a bit intense based on what you're wearing and you can end up looking like a drowned rat with your hair and makeup ruined by the wind and water. I don't think so.

What if the Daily Show evolved into a show of correspondents rotating as host. They host their own episode, and use their peers as correspondents. The street talks remind me of my graduate research surveys (Neighborhood Paticipatory Research ). So it's a mosh of narratives (that can be streamlined) but they cover broad topics (which is great), and there's even screen time for all correspondents. Love y'all ❤️

People who plan day dates, ESPECIALLY for a first date, always have plans later in the day, so there's no opportunity to extend the date. Night/evening dates there's no conflict, you can hang out til 3am.
I don't know about day dating but I do love me some day drinking!
Josh very cool that you don’t drink. I think the reliance on alcohol as a date activity shows lack of creativity and also doesn’t give us a real sense of how the person is without the help of alcohol.

Now this is very interesting cuz I've actually never been on a date before so rightfully I don't have any jurisdiction on this topic or experience but I would say that dinner dates are more romantic while Day dates are more anything goes like free for all.
