Inside Danny Elfman's $14.6M Mansion With A Giant Ballroom | On The Market | Architectural Digest

- Today AD takes you inside 114 Fremont Place in Los Angeles, the colorfully decorated home of entertainment royalty Danny Elfman and Bridget Fonda. Comprised of back-to-back lots in Los Angeles, the two complimentary mansions were purchased separately by the couple and unified into a single property, now on the market for $14.6 million. The larger of the two underwent a meticulous $3 million renovation, with the other becoming a mid-century modern-styled guest home. Plus, when you have the repertoire Danny Elfman has, it only makes sense to have a primo performance space for entertaining guests - in this case a massive ballroom art gallery on the main floor.

Normal people: decorate rooms
Rich people: curate homes
after seeing >$100 millions homes, 14 millions sounds pretty cheap
That's me after binging watching this channel lol
Same :D
perfect home for some 200 year old vampire
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Me!
that's just danny
thats what they were going for i think

Things I don't understand:
1. Is it "just under one acre" or "over one acre"
2. Does the host know what "grandiose" means
3. If we're trying to sell the property, why are we focusing on personal belongings the owners will likely take with them?
She probably wouldn't mention the furniture if it didn't come furnished
@@twat1466 They're probably not going to be including the guest book or furniture that were gifts.
That house comes with the furniture

"tasteful taxidermy" LOLOL she trying her best to spin it
She said Louis XIII when she meant Louis XV
I love it
He took all of his creepiest decorations with him when he moved out.
Danny Elfman is the person who made me love scores as a kid.
Man, and I don’t even remember caring about music until I was a teenager. Stupid video games.
@@T-rey I didn’t even care for music as a teenager. I discovered Danny’s band in my early 20s.
if everyones grandparent's house was on steroids and acid
haha nice
"TaStEfUl taxidermy" ...Sure, sure
I was looking for this comment. Two words that should never be in one sentence
IKR? Talk about an oxymoron.
It would be cool to attend a party there, but if they want to sell the place for top market value, stage it...or at least lose the dead stuff!
All the taxidermy is absolutely revolting.
gimme
Looks haunted and like the set of a horror movie.
Danny Elfman gonna Danny Elfman
Do you know who Elfman is? Lmao
A perfect place for a dead man’s party
He composed the music for The Nightmare Before Christmas!
Kind of lol 😂
I LOVE this house. I get why people say it's creepy because of all the taxidermy, but it's not for everyone. So much thought was put into this house, it's beautiful.
I agree. It's one of those houses I'd love to visit and has so much character, but I wouldn't personally buy or choose to decorate as such.
During the day it just looks quirky, but I would NOT want to walk through there at night O.o
That's so true.
This feels more like a museum than a home.
Its highly unlikely they spend any time there.
That Nothing To Fear Cat's Head is amazing didn't even know it existed
How do you do a tour of Danny Elfman's house and not play his music in the background?
Love that they restored some of the orginal pieces of the house, it really fits in with their decor style and themes. I love the mixture of personalities in the furniture and decorations. Something different, strange and wonderful! Not a fan of minimalism at all.
Also can you imagine all the cool guests they must of had over? What a lively place!
It really is danny elfman in a house and i love it. I could also see john waters hanging out here, if it had more books.
Danny elfman is my favorite composer, every movie scene with his music is so beautiful

this house is full of so much personality. it really embodies the people who lived here. i'm tired of seeing "tasteful", but bland decor in houses - this is where it's at.
Its so cool and yet so funny lmao
If the 'personality' youre refering to is 'Old', 'Outdated' and 'out of touch' then yea, ALOT of 'personality' lol

its danny elfman's house, of course its going to be weird and slightly creepy in the most amazing way.

@@FreakieFan you're typing that on every comment. Cut it out.
@@ophelia....
Don't worry. I'm not typing. Just copy and pasting it, to set these idiots straight who are criticizing a house they could never afford from someone who they know nothing about. :)
Because if all these morons commenting the same things on this video knew about Elfman's career and persona, they would understand that this house and its decor is perfectly apt and fitting.
Good day.
@@FreakieFan dear Guido, the people you think are daft for not idealizing some creepy Hollyweird person, are, in actuality, just not brainwashed to idolize humans, is all.

this is literally my dream house, like I would not change a thing it’s perfect
🙂🙂 A home with character (a little bit creepy in some parts, but character nonetheless). Hoping to see more like this AD
Would have been so much better if Danny Elfman would’ve gave this tour!
I actually kind of love this. It suits Danny Elfman and I am bored of houses without personality.
Very cool home! The gal who hosted this tour did a great job!
I would feel weird living in this house not only cause it's creepy but because it would always feel like it is someone else's home. I don't think I would ever really would feel at home.
I'm more creeped out by all the paintings and figures of babies/kids placed throughout the house.

@@rivky11225 my thoughts exactly
Most of those 'covered' paintings were Mark Ryden paintings
I can't express my appreciation enough for showcasing such unbelievable work!!
This home is high-key awesome.
And high key maintenance
Why even bother blurring the paintings when you can still easily see and identify them? We can tell those are Mark Ryden. They do this in every video and inevitably someone always figures it out right away.

His Spider-Man Soundtrack is legendary
When the lights go out, I’m hiding under the cover and going home in the morning.
I absolutely adore this! While I appreciate that a lot of people seem to prefer modern minimal styles with clean lines, i’m fully onboard for someone passionate enough and unafraid to dive straight into their own style, other peoples opinions be damned! And someone that can do that while honouring and exploring architectural and period specific charm? Total bonus.
I honestly like it. It's very unique and kind of playful with all the colors.
I love the cozy and rustic look in the living room. The collectibles are interesting conversation pieces.
🤣Love that she thinks the 60s and 70s were ancient history.
That’s because it is!!!
Great video keep up the amazing videos 👍👍
My favourite score by Danny Elfman, to this day, is the Black Beauty soundtrack. My god, it still makes me tear up. Check it out if you’ve never heard it!

Except for the dead animals, I love every single detail of this home! Beautiful!
Why does she keep referring to the decorations, art and artifacts that I assume are not part of the sale?
I doubt she'd go that in depth if it didn't come fully furnished
Black iron door of basement studio is creepy..
It's more fit for underground family cemetery
I LOVE IT! 🖤 dream house honestly
Marvelous video! 😀👍 I admire your videos!! 💪
She talks about the price of the house like anyone can own it. Even us non-millionaires
Love it. Love the decor
I'd expect nothing less from the man who composed for Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands
And Nightmare Before Christmas, and is literally Jack Skellington, and almost every other Tim Burton Movie, including Batman, as well as marvel films and every other great score imaginable that wasn't composed by John Williams
I wouldn’t call any of those toys “very fun” or the taxidermy “tasteful” 😆
Are they selling all the collectibles? I feel like this video is "Inside Danny's Collectibles"
wow, this is amazing. so full of character. i love it all
Decorator: how many dolls do you want?

God bless to all.
This is exactly the house i wanna live in
The first floor is a ground floor, also in some cases there is more than one ground floor. Second floor is first floor, or just upper floor in case three floors building with basement, or two floors without basement.
Not at all what I expected for Danny Elfman. He seems so much more whimsical than this.
It’s his wife’s house too you know.
She talks a lot about the personal possessions, not the house itself. I always wonder why people sell these homes after so much work making it their own. Seems like the house and the owners are well suited, so why leave? I always wonder.
How do you not mention in the title that this is also Bridget Fonda's house??
Because Danny Elfman is more famous, tbh
@@ThaSchwab He's not. His work is famous indeed but he as a person isn't. Bridget Fonda is much more of a household name.
Maybe they don’t think Bridget is weird enough to decorate her house like this? She’s got to be a weirdo on some level to be married to Danny for what is it seventeen years now though?
Really nice video, really nice house, really nice pick of the guest
I mean I don't really know where else to put this request
Is going on others videos aswell
But can we have a house tour of a formula 1 driver?

At 6:35 I see he has a print of Snow White by Mark Ryden. I don't think it's the original painting but it is cool.
So who bought it and what did they do with the oddball stuff? or was it not included in the sale?
The rug really brought the room together. 🤣😂
I love how those dolls are like a reverse minstrel show
Love how she's just throwing random words together to make it sound nice. Could tell when she said "very reminiscent of Louis Xlll". Lol
This Jack Skellington's sculpture adds a million more up
Could you do a roomtour from 432 Park Avenue in New York City? Would be amazing!
The house screams Danny elfman lol
no, the house simply screams
At least when you can't sleep cuz of the haunted looking doll eyes and taxidermy there are beautiful ceilings to look at ...
I find it quite creepy... all those faces of toys... never been a big fan of taxidermy as well. It's like lots of death in the house.
