Emmit needs this reality check. He has to grow up & realize that being an actual adult & father of multiple children, requires responsibility. The indepth dive into Ronnie’s background is welcomed. Glad they are addressing the stigma of therapy! The horrific & brutal attack on Ms. Ethal was sickening, yet a sad reality SMH
Still I Rise he really does. It’s so unattractive to see a man jumping from girl to girl and leaving kids in the balance. He really needs to grow the hell up.
@@lrs1519 Exactly! I sincerely hope that as the season progresses, we see maturity & growth from him. By the final episode, I want to be proud of him lol
Anyone else think the white lady that came and knocked on ms ethels door about the eviction had something to do with the attack ,i think since the caretaker was at the house they rescheduled or they she was scoping out the place👀👀
I didn’t know what Ronnie was drinking and it scared me, then the scene with ms Ethel hurt me, I kept screaming “ what do they want from her!?!? Why are they doing this!?! “ then I had to rewatch to make sure it wasn’t a flash back, after I realized it wasn’t , I just hope she’s not dead.
So when Myisha asked for the pickle with the peppermint stick already in it, I thought back to your discussion about them flavored pickles from the gas station. Lol
I lost it when you did the teacher voice😂😂😂bogus how they did miss Ethel joe smh...loving this season already...yeah it was the Regal by that old Leons Bbq💯
Like everyone else, I was shocked & appalled by the scene at the end. Many are asking why did they show it. I am glad that they did, because it is a reality that has been happening & sometimes we need to be slapped hard to face harsh truths. Did it make you think about your Grandmother & other elderly people who are often forgotten about? Call them, check up on them, make sure that they are alright? If so, then the writers succeeded. I love this show & I am looking forward to this season. There are so many hidden gems & nuances that you have to watch each episode more than once. I will also be bracing myself for whatever they throw out us. Great review & looking forward to the next.
@Ashley Miller I think it was meldrick people's that did that to miss ethel At first I thought the dude that broke the back door down was meldrick but it was not him Ronnie told that detective that he sold the gun too meldrick at the end of season 1 meldrick told Ronnie if the cops come looking for him he was going to kill him and his grandmother
it’s funny cos tiffany was chasing emmett around last season trying to force him to be a dad, he finally agreed to a dna test and since it was proven the child was his, he stepped up. now all of a sudden she doesn’t want him around. she’s a pain in the ass, i hope they don’t focus so much on her character/that situation
That scene with Ms Ethel damn near took me out! I was pissed and now I'm ready for the neighborhood to jump on their ass over that but I think I was reading that the neighborhood will have another drug dealer to deal with
This season looks like it’s gonna be good, judging by the season premiere. A couple of scenes pissed me off. But that ending though......they did not had to ms. Ethal like that. Now I know she can be a bit Tasmanian devil, but I like her.
Benjamin Hardy if she never opened the door they might’ve entered through the back door anyway. If they wanted to rob her, they should’ve taken stuff instead of him beating her up like that/destroying her house, feels like a setup.
I was so afraid they were going to rape Mrs. Ethel too as he was beating and dragging her by the legs!! I was screaming, “Nnnnnnnooooo” through the whole scene. I love the scenes with the kids. They are doing such a good job acting. In fact, I enjoy the whole cast. Ronnie is acting his tail off! He goes from young to old, bum drunk to cleaned up and everything between. This show has me laughing, screaming, crying, etc...good tv.
YES YES it was a Good Show!!! I feel the same way re: the end of the show... Elder Abuse (SMH) SAD to See!!! Very Good Review!! Thanks for Sharing see you next week!! Keep up the good work.
Yes the way they beat her I said to myself I am so glad my Grandparents, my mom and dad are not in this evil world and I don't have to worry about that and I pray for my Kids and family because people are wicked as fuck! That shit happens on the real!
Them crooked ass real estate people had something to do with Miss. Ethel attack I bet 🤔 to spook her and force her to move. But that was a little excessive made me want jump into the tv
The attack on the grandmother was so excessive I'm unsure I wanna continue with the series. Were the intruder she was talking to at the beginning of the scene pushed his way in instead of punching and then cut away from the violence in the scene and returned later for the aftermath I could accept it as narrative driven. This shit was all about the shock value.
@@tyannadunn843 I know violence against elders happens in real life. But how the entire sequence was done was in poor taste. The scene could have been broken up a bit with a before and after. Not an uninterrupted graphic depiction of her suffering and brutalizing.
I like The Chi a lot. But eventually they gotta get some legit Chicago people on the show. The “gangstas” be corny as hell on here. If they gon use the name they gotta have the culture.
Maisha is hilarious . She basically made Kevin and Papa a damn grocery list 🤣 .
LOL
*It was the snacks for me!!!!* 😂😄😆
I wasn't ready for the grandmother scene either. I'm traumatized!
@@karmababy3366 I missed that. I was trying to figure out who and why.
Yes, that was very hard to watch! But she's a firecracker, she'll be ok.
I feel like beating up the Grammy was a set up. I believe they wanted a way for her too leave the house.
I agree, because what else makes sense?
Yes that what I said
Ivy TheGreat yes I agree!
Papa is one of my favorite characters.
Minds too. He reminds of my son when he was a boy.
Yup, mine too, he carries the show definitely.
Sis when they beat that grandma i couldn't take that scene
BFord Blezzing I JUMPED!!
fitchgirl02 I jumped too and the whole time I had my hand over my mouth. I just couldn’t believe someone could be so cruel to an older person.
I couldn't even watch that scene. Is the grandma still alive?
i had to ff. that hurt my heart
I was deep in the show all night. But the ending hurt my heart.

Still I Rise same!
Lol he's his daddy son seen all them damn children he had 😂
I might be the only one but Ronnie’s voice annoys the hell out of me.
No, you are not the only one. I cant stand it. I feel like it doesn't fit his character. He sounds like someone's old grandpa.
Very annoying! I want to give him a cough drop every time he speaks
Baby voice Ron 😂
His voice makes him sound 70 years old but they're trying to portray him as this middle aged adult, even in his flashbacks
IRRITATING!!! Like he's taking a 💩💩 to talk! I have to rewind just to hear what he's MUMBLING 🤣
I believe the new property owner hired some thugs to beat Ms. Ethel up, so she'll finally move out.
YUP ,she had an evil ass smile on her face , looking like the bitch from get out and everything
They did Ms. Ethel really dirty. I knew something bad was finna happen but not to that degree. Season 2 started with a BANG.
That final scene had me so sick I thought the scene on Star had me in my feelings but that one took me out...you know Blk ppl love they grandmas
Anyone else think the white lady that came and knocked on ms ethels door about the eviction had something to do with the attack ,i think since the caretaker was at the house they rescheduled or they she was scoping out the place👀👀
Agreed!!
Whew that ending! They did not have to do Miss Ethel like that. I feel like the people who bought her house did that to scare her into moving.
I swear I screamed when I saw blood drawn from Ms. Ethel 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Erica Glenn I think it was toilet hooch

Love 💕 love love poppa everybody need a friend like poppa
Guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree in Emmit' s case 😂
Finally the chi is back. It been too long.
Jerrika so bougie she handled that waaaaay too well!!😂😂😂😂💯

The Regal not really by Leon’s. It is but it ain’t.

exactly my thoughts! I couldn't have been the real estate people cause they could've eventually just got the sheriff to put her out
@@linnearome7199
The same thing I said
You would think Reg would be little bit nicer after all the stuff he went through last season .
WHEN MIESHA TOLD POPPA...HOW YOU BIG & DON'T LIKE BIG GIRLS? THE IRONY!"😩🤦🏾♂️😂
I’m so glad that I gave The Chi a chance. I’m all caught up to watch your reviews.

Grandma didn't deserve that. I had to look away from the TV. That scene was too much!
Man that ending broke my damn heart for real ugh why they do granny like that
This going to be lit
I couldn’t even continue to watch them do grandmom like that 🤧 I’m traumatized
Great review. The show only gets better. This season is gonna be off the hook.

I love myisha she funny as hell
“Enmmit just a hoe and his whole life f@&$ed up” 🤣🤣 Ashley, Ur vids are liiifffeee. Love from Detroit 💪🏾
That ending messed me all the way up. I was having Red Wedding flashbacks!
I had to fast forward that scene. It broke my heart.
That video she talkin about and what happened to Ethel made me uncomfortable I had to cut the tv off
I didn’t even finish watching that last scene. I wondered if she died.
