Super helpful! Was nervous about declining but your last video said DECLINE so I did. And I got full price from someone else. Thank you. GOOD ADVICE.
So happy to help!
I just subscribed and have watched two or three videos of youths and they have been so helpful. Lately I have been getting nothing but lowball offers; on everything! Now I have some strategy. I also love that you are a psychologist, I’m sure that experience and education is helpful! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much! I hope that it helps I want to give you a warm welcome to the Prime Time family!
I got to study the psychology of pricing in business school. Good stuff here. It’s about perceived value.
Indeed! Thanks!
Love it! Sometimes difficult to turn down cash in hand, but you are right if you have a desirable item! Thanks for your time and effort!
I agree with you about all the talk about EBAY'S algorithms. I would like to see where they get all the info about the algorithms from. Seems like one person says it then it goes on to become a fact
Right. Lol
great video Dom. I used to put Joey in charge of 'best offers', but not after watching this video. 😀
😂😂😂 maybe put Enik in charge!
I only buy comics so negotiating is easy to walk away from since most books on ebay are listed way above or way below guide values and 100 or more copies of most books are almost always listed.
Sure, but that’s a situation where the buyer has more leverage due to over supply. I really try to avoid getting items like that
Good stuff !! I LUV your negotiation videos. Plz keep 'em coming ! Thanks.
I have an offer for an item and going to do exactly as you instruct right now! It's a Spiderman item and seeing your background must mean its a sign! I'll update as they come
Sounds good. My Spidey Sense is tingling!
just used decline after they came in just below my fair offer and boom. offer came back at my price. thanks!
Perfect!!! Proof is in the pudding!
Thank you! I'm pretty new to this, and you helped confirm that I'm doing pretty well. ;) And I really appreciate you clearing up the Algorithm myth! Keep up the good work.
Thanks Cindy! Best of luck to you!
So much great information and tips. Thank you. I really enjoy these type of videos. :)
I feel like im an ebay negotiation best offer king... I been doing it so long
Yeah you are! Lol 👑
Also...MORE PSYCHOLOGY OF NEGOTIATION TECHNIQUE VIDEOS PLEASE.
Did you see these: ua-cam.com/play/PLmPd4Aa2uH-BE9tHLoMPhtP6M7_mcl-9N.html
Great advice! Tyty
Thanks
I find it amazing that a person can sit and play around to find out what the lowest price will be. Where do people find that kind of time? I’d love to find a whole other day inside of another day, imagine what I could get accomplished every day!
Lol, so true. Thanks Christina!
I started declining after a low ball and it’s working for me - they come wayyy up after a decline 🙌🏻 holla!!
Wait- you’ve added more stuff to the merch?!!! I’ll have a come back later & check it out!
Glad it’s working out! Yes, more merch! lol
Anytime someone hit me with the Take it Or Leave it. I walk away. I'll get a response back saying "I guess you just don't want to sell it then". I'll reply back and say. "I would like to sell it for what I am asking for it. If you get a bit closer to my asking price. We might be able to strike a deal. Until then. It is packed away on a shelf and protected. I don't have to feed it, and I don't have to look after it as I do my kids. So it can just sit on the shelf until someone buys it for what I am asking." That works every time for me.
Lol. I love it
Great reply! Lol, I like that! Gets the point across very nicely
Thanks for all the info and comedy relief. I hope your helpers don’t strike.
Lol. I fender off the strike gif now. Lol
Cool! Thanks for this tip!
I have declined a few people who sent low ball offers. One came back and paid full price and one never countered. I also let something go at a low price because it was sitting too long. It’s all good as long as it is on my terms . ( Dad sold cars 😉 )
Yep, all valid points Cynthia. Thanks for commenting!
Awesome man!, that's a very good technique. I admire your discipline and patience in the process . Lol way better than I've even been as a reseller
Have you gotten the "charity case" lowball yet? I had someone make me a lowball offer because his son "only had $12 left in his birthday money". I declined and politely told him I hoped his son found something else interesting to spend his $12 on. Ten minutes later he just paid my asking price.
Lol. Yes, I have so been meaning to do a video on that. Thanks for the reminder
Yeah I just sold a shirt for $13 to a buyer who said hes a college student. I agreed to boost my sales and since I really didnt care too much about the shirt
Good Info! Some buyers want you to turn your items into garage sale prices 😮
Totally! Get that retail price!
I played that game of chicken for two days with a NWT Adidas Miami Heat Jersey I listed for $79.99 and got $30, $35, $40, $45 like three times. Then I declined. The next morning $50, $55, $60, and finally they accepted $62 at day two which I was fine with having less than $10 into it. This does work, plus the Heat are in the playoffs and it was NWT and I knew it would sell. Yup, Hold Your Ground!
Great example! Thanks for sharing that.
Dominic, have you noticed that the pinkies rise up in rebellion right before you do a video? I think they’re doing a psychological trick on you to meet their demands😜
Lol, yes, they are about to unionize!
As I’m watching this I’m declining a bid and they keep coming back each time a little higher I’m playing chicken lol
Lol. I love it!
I've used your decline without a message several times now with good results. I also try to respond as quickly as I can to drive home my position of confidence on my item.
Awesome to hear!
When I get a flat decline I buy the same item from someone else.
Problem is, with some of the items I have that are unique, there literally is no way to do that. In other instances, there is no one else to go to anyway who has it at a lower price in that condition with a similar feedback rating.
Is there any way to delete items on your send offer list that eBay generates when someone views your items. That listing is sometimes annoying, when the item is already at a low price.
Unfortunately no. I wish
I'm feeling at a loss. I'm in Poshmark and all offers I receive are lowball. I had an offer for $4 on a $20. Do you do this full time? I can't check my phone at work so I have to wait I get back home to do any counter offers. Never received a response back
I just (slowly) started PT back in March, and at least 3 times now since last month in Sept, I've gotten an email from EBay, telling me that my item can now accept offers, when it was listed as buy now, Not with OBO. Do you know what's up with that? I only have a few listed that way and they're in the around $30 range. It happened again today. I also found at least two listed as GSP when I didn't list them that way. I know they had that problem in the recent past as well with changing sellers items to include GSP when they had not listed it that way and I thought that EBay fixed that.
Yep, eBay has been changing listings. They claim it’s a glitch but it still happens.
Coming down 5 bucks for a back and forth does not seem worth the hassle. I would have set the item at $40 and waited til a 29-33 dollar offer came up. That's just me though.
I had it at $39.99 but it was not selling so I lowered it to $29.99. There was seriously no hassle. That entire negotiation took less than 30 seconds.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter oh well I guess that's not to bad then.
I like to see all the offers too. Lowball offers don't offend me and every once in a while you can still make a sale with counteroffers.
Agreed Paul.
I propose that you conduct a psychology experiment. Take a desirable item and price it fairly. Next, turn off offers. I believe that you will sell your item with no back and forth for your full asking price. When I am looking for an item on eBay to buy and see that the offer feature is turned on, I immediately know that the seller is not confident with their price. I buy it significantly below "market value," or I walk away. I walk away all the time. Another one always appears in the future.
I already ran that experiment and it’s the precise reason why I have offers turned on. I noticed a significant reduction in purchases we’re not having to offer future and able to. Having the make an offer feature enabled does not mean that the buyer is not confident in the price. That might be true in some instances but for me it merely means that I am willing to make a deal. I know how much room I have to negotiate and in certain cases I will turn the offer option off if I feel like I’ve Already lowered the price enough over time. So the approach depends entirely on the specific item.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Honestly, I am just trying to be a successful seller on eBay, but I have made a lot of mistakes. Most of my mistakes are shipping mistakes. I have learned a lot on this channel and other eBay channels that has made me a better seller and more money. So, I really should be more grateful and not so critical. Thank you for making videos. If you make them, I will watch them.
bby yda lives thanks!! Wishing you continued success
Off the topic, but do you use a scanner or take pictures of comics? Thanks in advance, Randy
Nope, regular photos do just fine
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Thanks for the info. I really appreciate how you always respond and so quickly. You are the man! Randy
NovaScotian Celt lol. Thanks!
You are too funny! Is it an EBAY glitch? Lately when I click offers, it forces me to add a decline amount, in the past I could just choose click accept offers. Thanks
I have not had that. It may be a managed payments thing. I’m not on that yet.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter I am not on managed payments neither
Wen Dee weird. That does not happen with my listings
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Thanks
send them the full price offer
Lol 😂😂😂
eBay is making me set a lowest offer amount, I noticed someone else said that in the comments too. I just set some ridiculously low amount so I’ll at least see most offers. Maybe it’s because I list on my phone. Thanks for sharing your tips, liked and shared, hugs to Daisy (we can hopefully resume our fan club meetings soon says the Ohio Prez lol) and take care!
Thanks Mart! Are you in managed payments?
Prime Time Treasure Hunter no they haven’t moved me over yet. Do you think I should actively seek it out or stay put until I’m forced? You are, right?
Mary McQuain I’m registered for it but they haven’t move me over to it yet. I guess I would wait at this point if I were you.
Prime Time Treasure Hunter i was wondering, so thanks so much for the advice, I will take it!! 😊
eBay allows offers on everything now. I am a new eBayer since March of this year. Even if I put no offers eBay allows offers anyway.
I have not received offers on any item I have as but it now with offers unchecked
Does the mug have daisy on it??? LOL
Not yet but we are making one. Lol
IMO it depends on what your selling and for how much. Oh and if the bills are due.🤣🤣🤣👍 Great videos
Yes, all true. Thanks Wes.
