I'd love to know how much the Working Woman magazine effected the branding/color palette. It's interesting that the box had pink on it, but it seems to be absent pretty much everywhere else. Was it a compromise to fit in with the magazine's aesthetic or was it actually a choice by Barbie's creative team? They likely felt that red was a bold, powerful color while the (iconic) pink was too soft and feminine for business. It's fascinating to see how our culture is reflected in toys throughout time and how those ideas have shaped us.

Oooo that's a great idea, I totally think it's possible that was an influence!

This is an amazing example of both something inspirational(Barbie, Women can be Girl Bosses too not just a Receptionist) but also tainted by the corporate landscape *cough*dystopia*cough*. I think it's interesting that the woman representing Mattel is dressed in light colors while this Barbie and the software are both very bold. I think as another commenter mentioned, Working Woman probably had a lot of influence on that, but it's a shame that they thought Barbie's pink didn't fit their desired image. I absolutely LOVE how much I learned in this video!!
It is so unfortunate that as adults we are expected to keep up a "professional" appearance even outside if working hours through social media. While it's not always monitored by employers, other people seem to judge and police posts. It's especially unfortunate given your content is not even something that is morally offensive, or harmful! Also, Barbie can only go to work and go onbimplied dates with Ken? NO. She can spend all that money she is clearly earning on anything she wants. ADULTS CAN AND SHOULD EXPRESS THEMSELVES AND HAVE FUN TOO.😤

There was a Pink business Barbie in the 80's. She was called Barbie "Day to Night" I wanted to have her so badly. She looked fantastic and happier than her 1999 counterpart

Finally! Somebody said it! I have the black version, I gave her a head swap before it was even a thing, the screening was super creepy but I loved her and her phrases! “Saving money is smart”😂❤

The amount of effort and attention to detail that went into this video is blowing my mind!!!!! I feel like I'll have to watch at least 8 more times to appreciate everything. For now, I'll just highlight the transitions (love Barbie's giant head zooming across the screen) and that incredible cover at the end!! Working Woman Barbie would appreciate the hustle ❤️ My favourite Barbie game is Detective Barbie The Mystery Cruise 🔍

This is an excellent video, well done. So much research and love put into it. The editing is great, your script and energy is great. Subscribed! Also, your quote regarding toy fairs; “an event I would like to LIVE at”, lmao but also oh my god SAMEEEE. Anyway, gosh. I really love Working Woman Barbie and I love this video!!!

Wow! This was a much deeper dive than I was expecting! I really love the ideas and concepts you posed in this video. Your editing style is superb (love the wipe with Barbie's face) and the moments of contemplation (at 13:40 especially ❤) really amped the emotional impact of the video. I was very drawn in, and I'm not a fan of Barbie at all! The implication that Barbie works at night and your commentary on work/life balance was insightful, particularly in a world where doing your job has been deemed "quiet quitting" because employers expect your job to be your life. Excellent video! (Also, I loved that you were stacking objects on Barbie's head at 11:30 😂)

Hi! You should do a video on the game Barbie Storymaker! I spent so many hours making my own little stories on it. I bet it's a silly little game.

I’m gonna be real… “Working Woman Barbie” reminds me of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin mixed with just a touch of Patrick Bateman. Anyone else?
