You nailed it. Don’t fly scared!! You’re way more likely to crash. But don’t ignore fear either. We experience it for a reason. Very nice video too!! Just wish it looked different. Looks like a Habu trainer. Waiting to see you do the new fms Avanti 90!
Great video as always Jon! Would love to see you fly the eflite F-16 so more with instruction on CG placement and the type of battieres you use in yours, I have 3 F-16 4 actually 3 80mm and 1 , 70mm just waiting to maiden each , it’s just been so darn hot!! 🥵 Happy flying and keep the videos coming because they are great!!👍🏻
@@LoveRCright as I have I just like watching him fly that model in particular, plus he said he loves that jet as well and hoping that he does future content of that platform, being the eflite 80mm F-16!👍🏻
Who let the Zeus Loose? Everyone knows it never is on its best behavior. It's always busy being a rebel. This video is just more proof of that. I don't blame Zes I like to cut loose sometimes, too.
Great and honest Jon! Would you choose this one over the Viper 90mm? Looking to get a new sports jet and debating between Avanti 80mm/Zeus 90mm/Viper 90mm :)
Would Jon choose this over a Viper? Nope - because Zeus doesn't high alpha. But Viper won't do that without extensive work. Zeus flies better overall, is faster, and is more tumble-oriented. They're both great jets, but Zeus wins overall in terms of scoring. Viper would be dinged for stickers bringing its F&F down to 4/5 points - but we're talking about a jet that would score 23/25 instead of 24/25. They're both amazing options.
I see no one mentioning about the Motion quoted speed of 150mph the 8s could hit flat and level ? I am not seeing it with mine, but I do love flying the jet, it is fast.
It it pretty well documented by many Zeus owners that the 8s version is a true box stock 150mph jet. Mine is 149-155mph each time I have done speeds runs with it to check it. If you aren't seeing those kinds of speeds, make sure you have calibrated the throttle and that your lipos are up to the task! You can't ask for extreme performance from the jet if you are sticking sub-par packs in it!
When landing a sport jet, do you find yourself oscillating the throttle with consistent elevator input or consistent 1/4 qtr. throttle with constant changing of elevator trying to time the flare?
We'll go in depth into it in a future vid, but the quick and dirty explanation is that gains work best when tied to airspeed. The faster an aircraft flies, the less gains it needs to stay stable. The slower it flies, the bigger the gains need to be in order to have any measurable effect.
@TwoBrosRC well thanks I have a v3 viper 70mm and only flown it once but not flown yet on new update everything is updated transmitter and new firmware on reciever as3x+ I just wasn't sure on what gains to start with and what high rate and low rate I should start with thx tho. I enjoy your vids
@@calvinpeterson3203 We'll try to include some footage of how to guesstimate the gains and get them mostly accurate out of the gate. You'll always need to tune them though.
@waymaker_rc_club what Amps u pulling on 8s on the 1960kv? I tested at 140A 4kg thrust on 7s. That's my max I want to push my batteries and stock 120a esc. Never tested on 8s.
I'm with Jon on this one. I also own the Zeus and disconnect the wings every time before I pack her in the car. I've had no issues. Just always do a preflight check before takeoff.
Love the 6s v 8s comparison. Be great if you could do that with the F16 90mm v2 too.
You'll see in about an hour.
Love my Zues. Great suspension for the grass field at my local club. Love the runway clean up Jon 😂

Those Lipo charging Para boards are a life saver for charging dual 4s for the 8s setups.
👀
Fantastic! Thanks for the landing tips!
Happy to help!
Zeus looks like an old Habu 32 from the design point of view. Great video Jon!
Nice review Jon...fast sucker! I hate when trees reach out and grab airplanes...
Or when you dumb thumb it lol
Well done review Jon!!! Still loving my Zeus!
Great review! I love how aggressive the Zeus looks compared to other sport jets - fuselage resembles a F-20. Kinda wished FW made the F-20 instead🙂
You and us both, man. The F-20 as a 90mm would be a fantastic upgrade over the F-5 80mm!
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah! Sexy/classy lines without bifurcating nozzles like F-5 robbing EDF efficiency. Work your influencer magic please🙏

You forgot the 90mm Avanti 🤣 I have the others but not Zeus
I don't care how good anyone is if your don't crash once a while your not flying
You killed the poor zeus! Is it repairable?
Unfortunately not, but we'll get an ARF for the follow-up vid!
@@TwoBrosRC I’ll take it and repair it!

We don't really care about speed aside from whether something flies fast enough to be considered "fast" in the sky.

We keep elevator input fixed and modulate throttle to control the descent, then flare to drop it gently on the mains.
My mates zeus caught fire & burnt to a crisp 2 minutes into it’s 1st flight, looked like the central board caught fire.
Unfortunate, sounds like a case for Motion support.
What does it mean that it's freewing?
That's the manufacturer.
Hello..how do you keep your esc cooled..? Thanks..
Preferably with air flowing over it.
what esc u are using?
The one it comes with.
Why relative gains instead of fixed for the as3x+ is that because u can use the knob instead of locking in the gains im confused

Nah, we're not removing the style of our channel because of one complaint lol
Loose?? How do you loosen background music??
Those connectors scare me 100% for the wings, I don't think i would spend a cent on this plane if it came with those !
They're the same connectors on the J-10, and they held up fine under rough flying. What's the issue?
