*Problem with Xiaomi is the best of its phones and tabs never come out of China. It just launched a great phone named Xiaomi Civi it's complete package but it won't launched globally and it's very economic back in china. So is with tabs. Second thing is each item costs almost 50 to 80 US$ more in India. And when cost rises like that features and item itself become contested with others. I would buy Xiaomi tab but its not out in Asia. I'm likely to go for Apple because of unavailability. I understand Android very well and wanted a good quality premium sort of Android tab but galaxy tab are kinda expensive and not to the par*
Xiaomi's stuff are much less expensive than Apple's so they can't compete in buying power in terms of chips and such. Providers will sell to Apple because of their high buying price. Even Apple has shortage now so it's understandable.

@@RandomUser-tj3mg no one's forcing them. It's a matter of preference. And "locking" yourself is a gradual process over years of choosing which devices work for you. If you started with a MacBook and ipod, for example, you might've wanted to go for an iphone due to the ease of use across the other devices. As years go by, you've gotten comfortable with the ecosystem. So with tablets, the preference is almost always towards the iPad. As for me, I've been accustomed to Windows. So Android became a conscious decision for phones (also, Apple prices are just too much). But I'd consider an iPad because it still is the best tablet so far but with budget, I might end up with the Xiaomi Pad 5.
Does Xiaomi stylus make loud tapping noise like the apple one? As I want a tablet for making notes and I find using apple stylus too noisy in classroom.
I would put my experience wit ipad, pencil, andorid etc: Ios aka apple gizmos have nice hardware, but file management etc is realy shait. They probably put "patents" on active pencil "technology" and embargo on most used drawing/editing apps partners to be exclusive in ios only. This is then only thing that keep therir advantage in tablet world. Otherwise, android is way better in general work, imo. They only need to somehow re-rout apple's draconian "patent" lawyers and put app partners on tandoori trail (there are millions of users, really don't understand why they don't want money from them, lol)
I am a student and my use of the pen is for writing only. For this purpose only, will there be a noticeable difference between Apple Pencil and Xiaomi Smart Pen ?
@@teohontech7141 Thanks for the quick response, Really love your videos😻 So for a Xiaomi fan, and an Android geek like me, the Pad 5 Is the perfect choice
As a xiaomi user The pen is very nice but when im writing in Microsoft one note it's not very stable maybe the right app for writing is need to be considered. If you have a lot of budget go for Ipad but with a low budget and more storage go with xiaomi
In my opinion, invest your hard earned money on apple iPad for consistency and reliability. I owned a xiaomi device, but used a custom rom because of how buggy is MIUI. *And not all user's are like me who can flash and use a custom rom. Everytime MIUI released an update, instead of fixing issues they add more and more problems. ADS. These are also annoying. Maybe for now it's not present, but in the future they will also implement it on their tablets. Also that lag on pen is also a deal breaker. Especially if you're really gonna focus on drawing. Displays are good on both tablets, pad 5 have HDR support and iPad 9th gen have TRUE TONE. For sound quality pad 5 clearly wins, but iPad 9 have HEADPHONE JACK😏 But for the overall value it's the iPad 9 for me still in 2022. An all rounder. (a students perspective)
I had an Samsung S6 lite, and I started to love the 'note taking' option, and then started drawing, and it was lame so now Im getting the iPad (after trying out in a shop) because the drawing experience, I think (!) is waay better. @@senny_penny The drawing experience overall is good. It's just that the Xiaomi pen isn't as sensitive compared to graphics drawing tablets. The iPad with Apple Pencil has better drawing performance. But as a tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 5 is provides way more value than iPad. Ultimately it depends on what type of art you're creating. E.g. if you're creating comic art, I probably can't recommend this as the lines taper abruptly instead of smoothly and sharply.
I used the xiaomi smart pen for less than 2 months and the tip of the pen got broken while taking notes, and the company is not even offering repair and they just simply told me to buy a new one

iPad is helps a lot in terms of lines smoothering. But if you want more precise control and you have skill in your arms - use Xiaomi and brush settings. It's my opinion.
Hello thanks for your video, a query I want a tablet with a pen mainly to draw, study (take notes) and watch videos but I am not sure if the Xiaomi pad 5 pro will be able to satisfy my needs, do you recommend it?
For casual drawing, Xiaomi is good enough. The Xiaomi is better than the iPad in almost every other area except for drawing. I've mentioned the limitation of drawing performance in this video.
Sorry, but if you compare hardware, do it with the same app. While I believe that the tapering of lines is a hardware issue on the Xaomi, the software could also be the problem there. The constant change of apps in your video is rather not good. Stick with CSP, there you can compare them properly.
In that case I should stick with Medibang Paint Pro since it's the app that will show the actual un-configured un-adjusted performance of the pen. Not sure if people will actually have the patience to go adjust each brush they use in CSP. I tried and it's very tedious to use software to correct hardware issues.
Procreate is indeed a great drawing app, but it isn't perfect by any stretch. I use it everyday and appreciate its ease of use, but I often wish it had more features or user-friendly aspects for its UI. Personal preference is UI is what it comes down to, and there are drawing apps on Android that are excellent, like Sketchbook and Medibang.
@@rubi6330 Correct, that's what it often means to be a professional, you buy things that fit your specific use case. For illustrators, there's no tablet like the ipad. Besides, it's not only about procreate. Apple pencil is vastly superior to any other phone tablet stylus.
I've tried almost everything. When it comes to draw/paint on a digital canvas there's only ONE really good mobile device, and it's always the iPad (Pro and also non Pro models).

there's no other tablet like the ipad (not just the 9th gen but all the other ipads) when it comes to writing and drawing experience at their respective price point. Apple provides a really great user experience and they have been manufacturing tablets since (I don't even remember since when xD) but the conclusion is they are very much experienced in this domain. It will take time for new comers (even the already existing competitors) to get to this point where apple is today with their tablets and the stylus (i'm taking into consideration only the drawing and the note taking aspect, the apple pencil etc.). Also apps like goodnotes, notability, procreate etc (which are only available for iOS) makes the experience twice as fun. Plus the overall UI of iOS is what makes these tablets so great to use. However, at the end of the day, one can pick any tablet, one can go for even a pen tablet from huion, wacom etc and can produce great art and beautiful notes. But it's the convenience that matters. I always try to go for devices/apps that are most convenient, and those that saves a lot of time and effort. And if I had to choose between these two devices in particular, I would go for the iPad, hands down. (even though i already have the 9th gen)

Pad 5 pro would have the same experience. It basically has more ram and a better processor so you'll only get more Layers. S7 FE has better precision. On par with iPads and comes with the pens. If you want it mainly for Drawing then go with FE. But if you want to draw and also game and do heavy multitasking then either of the Pad 5s would work since the FE only had 4gb of ram in base model. FE has expandable storage as well while the Pad 5s and ipads dont.

Yeah, but atleast buy iPad Air if you want to go the Apple route. The non-laminated 7 years old tech display on basic iPad is just unacceptable, resolution aside. (You have to go well below $200 to find such a bad panel on the Android side)

Blame your government for having tax
@@zhen86 it's not tax it's the launch that is at increased price
Xiaomi's stuff are much less expensive than Apple's so they can't compete in buying power in terms of chips and such. Providers will sell to Apple because of their high buying price. Even Apple has shortage now so it's understandable.
@@zaxele Mi pad 5 Pro would cost 35000 ₹ minimum in India and while Gen 9 iPad costs just 27500 in India. Why would you buy Xiaomi tab ?

I had to say if I'm not locked with apple because of the ecosystem, I will definitely explore different options. Nice video btw!
I was also locked, now I finally broke that lock and entered to Tab S7, and I must say it was totally worth 😊
Why r u locked. Who is forcing you to buy apple products
In my opinion, ipad is the best in digital drawing. Thank you for the comparison.

I would put my experience wit ipad, pencil, andorid etc:
Ios aka apple gizmos have nice hardware, but file management etc is realy shait. They probably put "patents" on active pencil "technology" and embargo on most used drawing/editing apps partners to be exclusive in ios only. This is then only thing that keep therir advantage in tablet world.
Otherwise, android is way better in general work, imo. They only need to somehow re-rout apple's draconian "patent" lawyers and put app partners on tandoori trail (there are millions of users, really don't understand why they don't want money from them, lol)

i had my hands on mipad 5 in xiaomi store, and i think the overall build is quite solid
why mipad does not look smooth at drawing line compared to ipad? is that the stylus pen faults or software doesn't have any stabilizer?
In my opinion, invest your hard earned money on apple iPad for consistency and reliability.
I owned a xiaomi device, but used a custom rom because of how buggy is MIUI.
*And not all user's are like me who can flash and use a custom rom.
Everytime MIUI released an update, instead of fixing issues they add more and more problems.

Also that lag on pen is also a deal breaker. Especially if you're really gonna focus on drawing.
Displays are good on both tablets, pad 5 have HDR support and iPad 9th gen have TRUE TONE.
For sound quality pad 5 clearly wins, but iPad 9 have HEADPHONE JACK😏
But for the overall value it's the iPad 9 for me still in 2022. An all rounder.

Hand drawn ones, yes. But not-hand drawn designed logos, probably not as there aren't many graphic design apps from Google Play Store, .e.g. Affinity Photo, Adobe Illustrator.
@@teohontech7141 Won't Mi Pad be much more uncomfortable in drawing than graphic tablet is? I mean entry-level tablets not professional. I was thinking to buy one. But Mi Pad looks attractive for the price and combining graphic abilities and multimedia
Not that I know of
If you didn't do your art on your pc which tablet would you choose? Considering those tapered lines etc
iPad is helps a lot in terms of lines smoothering.
@@teohontech7141 Thank you so much!
If procreate was available for android I would definitely buy a xiaomi :(
Procreate is indeed a great drawing app, but it isn't perfect by any stretch. I use it everyday and appreciate its ease of use, but I often wish it had more features or user-friendly aspects for its UI. Personal preference is UI is what it comes down to, and there are drawing apps on Android that are excellent, like Sketchbook and Medibang.

@@teohontech7141 In my experience the Spen and the Apple Pencil perform the same, so to say that Xiaomi's Pen is on par with Samsung's is to contradict this whole video.
I would rather say that Ipad pencil and S pen perform equally good than say they perform the same. They do their thing differently, each has it's specific flavour, but they are both nice in their own way (I actually prefer the softer and springier feel of S pen's tip, but that's personal). If Xiaomi's pen is equal to S pen, then it should be great too, but in some parts of video it seems a bit lacking. Well, it's their first generation, guess Xiaomi will catch up soon enough.
@@milanjovanovicpictogramax6032 I'm not saying that the Xiaomi Pen is super bad, but to say that it is at the same level of performance as the Spen while saying that it is less good than that of Apple that's where I'm not Okay.
Not to mention my personal experience, there are thousands of videos on UA-cam that show that the Spen and the Apple Pencil are on the same level and in addition most of the time users of Apple Pencil add a matte protective film (Paper Link) to have the same texture and resistance as the Spen.
I do not find it really honest to say or want to believe that the Xiaomi Pen is on the same level as the Spen, it is not true!

there's no other tablet like the ipad (not just the 9th gen but all the other ipads) when it comes to writing and drawing experience at their respective price point. - Better drawing performance on iPad
- Longer software updates on iPad
- Better app selection and optimization on iPad
The Xiaomi Pad is better on paper and has better design, but ultimately, the iPad is much better in terms of user experience and value IMO.
Other than the first point, the other points are not that important. The one thing about that iPad is it will make you think “this design is so old” each time you use it. @@teohontech7141 Well, if you get a tablet purely for drawing, then sure, the other two points are not that important. However, if the tablet is going to be used for other purposes like productivity, media consumption, gaming, etc. then the other two points for iPad become extremely important.
