    this is why you are my new or going forward fave tech reviewer. Please, let me preface by saying my intention is not to rip on other reviewers. you have appeared with these other people on pods or panels. You guys are smart to stick together vs compete as the space is getting super crowded. I LOVE LOVE what you just did. you reviewed this iMac by doing something you would ACTUALLY do on it. I own a small agency and right now we are all using m1 mba and we ordered iMacs. The mba with the m1 does everything we want and more. It does graphic design, web, video editing. I do not need to know the Geekbench. Now I will say all apps I am using now are M1 native (BYE BYE ADOBE!) and they are so snappy. anyways just wanted to sa thanks and enjoy how you geek out without geeking out in a way that if the design is not Darth Vader approved you throw a hissy fit. great job!

    My 2015 iMac struggles with editing 1080p in iMovie. Do you think I need to upgrade or try Resolve? I think I have base specs 8gb ram i5 processor

    • @theagamer224
      @theagamer224 3 роки тому +1

      If your imac has a hard time with imovie, resolve is a more demanding app, and if you can, you should upgrade to this, but if you are only doing 1080p editing, a 2017 or 2018 model should do which you can find in the Market for cheaper, but since they are all apple products, the price difference shouldn't be that big so long story short, the m1 is really worth it

    • @benjamin5370
      @benjamin5370 3 роки тому +1

      Word, you should upgrade man. Especially if your only really concerned with video editing and not gaming or anything like that then m1 is a good way to go. You can even edit 4k video on it, so it will probably last you a good couple of years

    I just think it is a hard sell this versus a second hand 27" 5k iMac, with upgradeable RAM (max 128GB), dedicated graphics plus option of an eGPU, and just a beautiful 5k screen.

      The main board can burn out after 5-7 years. Buying used is a risk.

    Do i want to buy an iMac? No, I've got a M1 MBP.
    Do i video edit? Nope, will never do.
    Do I watched this video till the end? Of course! Always entertaining!

    is the cheapest version would be as good for 4k video edition?
    The one that has m1 7 cores instead of 8 and 8gb Ram only???

    I don't understand your editing technique, first you got all 3 video tracks synced up - but then around 7 minutes in you make your first blade cut followed by deleting a clip off the lowest track. Now the top 2 tracks are no longer in sync UNLESS somehow did you blade through all 3 tracks with that one click?

      Oh I just learned about SHIFT+B cutting through all layers - is that what you are doing?

    I am interested to know how the ethernet connection works through the "MagSafe" power connection. And is this the system apple will use for future Macbook Pro? Could it be that the rumoured Macbook Pro with HDMI and other ports will be done through the power brick like the new iMac? Rumours also mention that MagSafe is coming back to the Macbook Pro. Just putting 1 and 1 together :)

    I have the MacBook Pro M1, it's so good for editing my videos. Would you recommend upgrading to 16gb MBP at some point? I only got 8gb and it's ok for now but sometimes lags on iMovie. Thanks

    That's a super simple project, I'd like to see something more complex.

    How’s the display holding up ? 4.5K versus the screen on the M1 Air ? Does driving the 4.5K screen slowed the GPU down ?
