Basically there’s bazillion words that sound exactly the same but means totally different things in the Chinese language no matter what dialect it is. So yea I understand sykkuno’s confusion.
The problem is the existence of tones.
They’re not something in English and even as a canto person who grew up on the language (altho tbh I’m not great at it lmaooo,,) I get tones confused VERY easily, both by ear and by mouth. They all sound the same to me sometimes and I can only get the words by context

I was shaking so damn much I swear you could almost hear the poster wobble or whatever. It was horrible.

I think the person that said sykkuno said the Spanish phrase in the cute way said it cause as a Spanish speaker it said like the way a kid would say it most adults don't say it like that
yeah, poquito xD
In latin america is pretty common to make things like small or cuteish? It's a casual / informal diminituve : "poquito" is "a little bit".
as someone that speaks cantonese his accent is actually really strong !
I relate to his mispronunciation, English has a lot of weird sounds that don't relate to how you're supposed to read them.
Luckily it's a really easy language to learn from the sheer amount of sources to learn about it.
This video can also be titled as Sykkuno being confused in 10 minutes
Can we talk about sykkuno's browss?? I love ittt
As someone who's bilingual and learning other languages, it's kinda annoying when you try to say something to native speakers of the language you're trying to talk in and they make fun of you/say that it's bad or that your foreign accent is strong. Like I'm out here trying SO HARD to say something or hold a conversation and they have to come in and discourage me like that, no wonder not a lot of English speakers want to learn other languages
Often what happens is my dad would spend weeks learning a new language for our holiday and then every time he tries to speak the language on holiday they just speak english and it can be so fustrating.
@@itsclements06 right!! Everyone I know either speaks Haitian Creole or English and people say the best way to learn a new language is to watch/listen to something in that language or speak to people in that language to better your pronunciation and learn more words/phrases
Get over it honestly
@@weirdguy4948 that was rude and unnecessary. It doesn’t affect me that much but it’s annoying having people left and right tell me how bad I am at something instead of trying to help me get better.
3:13 my first language was spanish and swedish... and i did it pretty well
english is hard? it's my 3rd language and the learning process was so smooth and fun, i can't imagine an easier language :0 and i find sykkuno's cantonese pronounciation adorable :3
same, one of the easiest languages to learn
Depends on how you look at it.
Some reasons it's easier: You're constantly getting exposure. I don't think anybody would bother to learn English if it wasn't as big as it is due to the British Empire's expansion. English also lacks terribly confusing conjugation. This one is weird, because typological morphology (a scale on which languages are judged based on amount of meaningful parts to the whole word ratio (morpheme to word ratio) comes at a trade-off. English has no difficult conjugation, but is rather strict in its word order because of this. A lot of people grew up with Anglophone media, no matter where they are in the world, so they find the language easier.
Some reasons it can be more difficult: Pronunciation. Especially the American accent, I've never heard a non-native speaker master this perfectly, but maybe that's just my experience. English possess, in particular, 3 rather difficult phonemes for some to master if they speak a language where those phonemes aren't present. Those are the two English "th" sounds, and the English "r" sound. There's also English's very loose relation to other languages. It's West Germanic at its core, but it sure doesn't act like your typical West Germanic language.
I had know idea Sykkuno was half vietnamese! 🥺
He actually said the Spanish stuff right
Sykkuno dodging the question about the six pack lmao 😂
his spanish tho🥺 he said it right, and Spanish is a really hard language, and there are a lot of accents, I can’t even speak properly in Spanish (I’m a Spanish speaker).

THE WAY HE PRONOUNCED BUN BO HUE-

English is not my 1st language, i'm used to hear and can understand people speak in english but it's hard for me to communicate in english without had to think again what's the right word am i going to say.
He speaks so cute in Spanish 🥺 and it was correct 🥰
He should go to Dr.K so he can release some/all problems he have and also to lessen his social anxiety
Honestly I’d think I’d be great for him to see Dr.K. Both for himself and viewers with similar emotional problems. Honestly after watching Lily’s talk, it helped me come to terms with some of my own stuff. Of course being vulnerable in front of thousands to see is hard and scary but if one day he’s ready, I feel like it might help people.
People don’t matter, only what he feels
Also, I didn't know that he's half Vietnamese half Chinese.
I’m still confused about where the owner of this account is from. Verzichten is a German word but the way they say it doesn’t sound very German...
To me it sounds like a Hindi accent 🤔
5:00 when he said "banbowe" i was so confused then i realized he couldnt say the vietnamese fadas, then i realized he said "Bánh Bò Huế" and i got even more confused cause thats not a food, "Bún Bò Huế" is the accurate name of the famous food in Vietnam
I'm just happy whenever people embrace their heritage, especially linguistically.
