As someone who doesn't know what "the adventure zone" is. Lets see if i get this right The guy in the suit atracks the people of the white ship. He doesn't want to, but is made to by some "being". After actualy meeting them he realises they are nice people and really doesn't want to kill them now. but has to out of fear of that "being". His confliction gives the "being" a reason to take over. Bunch of side plots happen leading up to them beating the man and the "being". Also there maybe something involing heaven and hell being actual places.
@Eren Yıldırım Taz stands for the adventure zone, it's a real play podcast, I listened on Spotify but I'm sure you can find it anywhere you get podcasts It's so, so good and I wish you luck comrade
Eren Yıldırım maximumfun.org listed under their comedy section. There's a load of other stuff but I've never had the interest apart from the McElroys' D&D podcast on there.
I ran into this thing I have never heard of trying to listen to a song call In the zone by Ken Ashcorp and now I think I am about to fall head first into a nieshe but big fandom wish me luck
I don’t know what “the adventure zone” is but here is what I think is happening. The suit guy is some businessman who doesn’t like the people with the red coats. But he talks to the short guy and finds out he is nice but they black thing with the colors makes him attack the short old guy and now he has to kill them all. During the final battle he becomes the big demon monster and gets destroyed by the green guy. Basically it’s the weird black with colors demon thing that makes him evil even though he is a good guy, (as seen by the end where he is looking at the sunset)
That is pretty close. The biggest difference is that he created the black thing and he wants the same thing that the red coats have, so its less hate and more about opposite ends of a similar goal.
The adventure zone is a D&D podcast by the elroy's. They have the first 2 parts of the campaign as graphic novels, if that works easier than listening to over 100 hours of gameplay
Literally this alone convinced me to start listening to TAZ, so I can only recognize a few scenes. This is honestly the best animation I have ever seen in my whole entire life what
I really like the concept of John, something so impossible inhuman, an eldritch horror, born from one man feeling empty inside and spreading that to others.
Hi! I see that you found this video in your recommendations without knowing about the Adventure Zone! So for everyone who doesn’t know, The Adventure Zone is a Dungeons and Dragons podcast created by the McElroy Brothers. Its one of the best pieces of media I’ve ever consumed. Its very funny, creative, and made me cry multiple times. So if you haven’t listened to it and you liked the animation, go ahead and give it a listen, you won’t regret it!
When I found the Adventure Zone i noticed a fully animated trailer for Balance but the podcast episodes arent animated whatsoever. What's up with that?
I want to thank you immensely for introducing me to the adventure zone. after listening to the whole thing over the span of a few months I get all the references and i love this video even more. my favorite part is how the carecters apear in the order tey were summoned. I love the way they all look (:
So this song is my alarm so that was slightly jarring initially lol But the animation here is beautiful and worked so well with the song! I’m definitely sending this to all my friends who like The Adventure Zone cause they need to see it
Never heard of adventure zone? Wondering why you’re here? 1. Maybe you watch a lot of animatics/animations. 2. *Man, nobody talks about this really good song anymore TvT*
I've never once heard of The Adventure Zone yet somehow I've made the villain of the story I'm writing EXACTLY like what seems to be the villain of this... Even down to a similar design for an ultimate form like at 2:04...
This is another one of those ones I'm going to watch over and over because this is just so firkin good, you are made of awesome. Brilliant work. This must have taken you 6ever.
I at first watched this with no knowledge of what TAZ was, and just thought it was the coolest animation I had ever seen. Now I’m back, years later, having just finished TAZ, teary eyed and happy. You did an amazing job MooselyBased.
Just wait till you start Amnesty. Unless you meant you finished all of TAZ and are completely caught up, in which point congrats. Get used to waiting a week!
So, not only are the character designs perfect, but this song so accurately tells the story of John I’m beside myself. This is amazing and I’ve watched it like 20 times already.
I've never heard of The Adventure Zone, so all I see is Google (G-Man lookin guy) chasing down some space pirates making their lives hell, idk something like that
No. He just knocked the entire black team of the match, had a existential crisis and used black majik given to by the Majikal Dragoon hidden in the moutains to make a person breath black fire then collapse
I feel like John hunger goes under-appreciated as a character. He has such a complex characterization, especially for somebody who wasn't formally introduced until really late in the story.
I've never heard of TAZ before, but this video randomly popped into my recommendations. "I Can't Decide" was a favorite song of mine in middle school and this music video does it justice. The story inside this video, along with the music, does a great job of telling me what TAZ is like and what exactly the plotline is, despite me not knowing any of the character's names or anything about it. Amazing work!
Talinah I 100% suggest watching it. It’s a D&D podcast. Very funny, very entertaining, extremely well written, and one of the most amazing fantasy stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. I’ve watched GoT, LoTR, and neither of those have made me as emotional as TAZ has. It’s something so incredibly special. You’re missing out if you don’t watch it. I suggested it to a friend for over a year, and when he finally watched it, he binged it in a month
@@chery0 T.A.Z. The Adventure Zone. It's a podcast group of 3 brothers and 1 dad playing table top games like D&D. The animatic is based off of The Adventure Zone: Balance Arc. Where they all play D&D in an completely original story. Would highly recommend. There are multiple playlists of all the eps on UA-cam but they all miss one episode. But you can listen on Spotify for free and it has all the episodes. "T.A.Z. : Balance Arc" is honestly the best D&D podcast out there in my opinion. Hilarious banter between the family and their in game characters but it also has an amazing story which can get pretty serious at times. 100/10 do recommend.
Any time spent listening to The Adventure Zone (TAZ) is time well spent; never wasted. You can listen to the podcast here on youtube, in fact. I assure you, you will not regret it.
This is a perfect "end credits" scene for The Adventure Zone. The animation, the song choice, the featured scenes. It so accurstely encapsulates TAZ. Especially the Stolen Century arc. Just undescribably emotional and beautiful. Thank you
I wouldn't have chosen this song initially, but by god you made it work perfectly. One of the best tributes out there! (also kudos on making content about John, it's too rare)
This introduced me to TAZ. You are directly responsible for me loving this podcast, for my renewed excitement over DND and for just me knowing about these characters. I just want to say thank you. Thank you so much.
I saw the thumbnail for this and thought "THIS song? with TAZ? what the actual heck" and clicked on the video out of sheer morbid curiosity. I WAS NOT PREPARED TO FIND AN EXCELLENT AND HEARTFELT ANIMATIC THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN SO FAR, CONGRATS ON THE TALENT OMG.
Well this is heavy spoilers but you may or may not forget it. TAZ is "The Adventure Zone" a podcast by the McElroy brothers and their dad. It's an amazing series, I highly recommend it.
Out if all of the villains I have seen. This man has to be the strangest one I have ever seen. A talkshow guy complaining about mere existence and is corrupted by sone dark magic (or something else cause I never looked at TAZ) and is simply faded away on a beach with white beard guy. I love his design in this and I never thought that he is kind of understandable and relatable to people with immense depression. And I admire whoever thought it up for that
This is just unbelievably astounding. I watch this video whenever I'm having a bad day, and without fail, it has cheered me up every single time. Just the perfect use of colors, lively animation, and sync with both the beat and plot are just something to behold. It disappoints me that this masterpiece hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves yet, but as you can see, everybody who has seen it greatly thanks you for making it.
Everyone seems confused as to why they were recommended this. Not me, I was watching an animatic including the song Still had no idea what the Adventure Zone was, I'd heard the name before but never bothered to find out what it was Seeing this intrigued me to find out and I can safely say that I'm hooked now. Thank you for gracing us with your masterpiece, your talent deserves more than a couple of subs.
Such a smooth and consistent style! The light-heartedness of the head bobbing and cartoon like style contrasted with the depictions of what are some of the most heart breaking things in the story really compliments the tone of TAZ itself.
Had never even heard of the adventure zone before finding this animation, and then of course that sent me down a rabbit hole of animatics until I gave up and gave it a listen. I just finished the final episode of the balance arch today and came back just to bring it full circle. Thank you for introducing me to this show!
like everything about this is amazing?!?!?!?! like so much so that it actually confuses me on how amazing, like I actually suspect you might be a wizard or something. Just the art and animation styles are so nice, and how everything is set to the beat of the song. like the timing and everything is so smooth and prefect. I could probably write a 5-page essay on how much I love this and it still wouldn't be enough.
I found out about TAZ through this very animatic and only just allowed myself to rewatch it after hearing the last episode of the first campaign. I'm speechless. The attention to detail is amazing, and I've really liked trying to figure out how any of this fit into the story. It never felt like a spoiler at all. It's just been an amazing experience altogether, and you brought it upon me. Thank you.
I watched this video before I started listening to TAZ. I had no idea what was going on for most of it, but the animatic made me interested enough to try listening to it. I just finished the finale, and I just want to say thank you for making the video that got me to start such listening to such a wonderful story.

This was my first introduction to The Adventure Zone, and what really got me into D&D. I come back to this every now and then and it's always still as good as I remember. Genuinely big part of my life, thanks for making this
I really gotta thank this video for being awesome enough to make me check out The Adventure Zone, one of my favorite podcasts now, and get to know the McElBoys
also, as I've watched this about a dozen times, just gotta say you can still kinda watch it even without knowing about TAZ. It can just be, like, the metaphorical story of a businessman being consumed by his hatred, or something. Still makes for a fun video outside of context, imo. With context it's even better, of course.
If u are planning on ever watching TAZ, I would not watch this animatic. Watching the end of this show and not having a clue about what was about to happen, it was the best thing ever.
@@gunfiend5175 The Adventure Zone, specifically The Balance Arc. It's a very good D&D podcast, back before that was a common thing, by a group of comedians. It's a very solid story with excellent writing and hilarious moments, and a few INSANE payoffs. This animation is based on it. I highly recommend listening to it if you get the chance. It's funny, I watched this back when it had a few thousand views if that, and tried to get others to watch it. Apparently since I made the original comment, it fell into the algorithm vortex and now has millions of views. I'm glad, because it's an awesome little animation, but also kind of a bummer since it's a huge spoiler. Oh well! I see a lot of people got into TAZ because of this, so hey, so much the better.

@@wolflplushlnoice Yup! The Adventure Zone! I recommend starting with Balance, as it's the basis for this animation. I had a hard time getting into the first 4 episodes or so, but after I listened through them, I fell in love. The first episodes, while lackluster, are worth it. They're amazingly important.
I first watched this animation when I was like, halfway through TAZ? I spoiled a little bit for myself, but I figured I already saw a few spoilers, what's a bit more? Today I finished Balance, bawled my eyes out, and watched this. This is honestly such an amazing animatic, it captures the spirit of the show so well! Things were so well drawn and animated and it really left an impact on me! I hope you keep doing cool animations like this!

Man, when I first watched this, it was near the end of the 11th hour arc, so I thought that the big bad here was from Magus' backstory, and that this campaign would end with a typical "past enemy has ties to dark forces" revenge quest for the most heroic PC. I could not have been more wrong. I loved how this both perfectly summarizes the events of the finale without spoiling the important details and implications of the events.
I love John adjusting his tie, that detail gives me life, aaaaaaaaaa. This whole thing gives me life, I love the loop-de-loop of the words in that one spot and in general just how the lyrics fit the scenes, it's so great. Taako at "Or feed you poisoned birthday cake" is such a fucking good expression holy shit I'm so alive for this whole animation
Yeah this convinced me to listen to it on my way to school each day and I’ve finally gotten to the stolen century part and I finally understand what’s going on in half of this song with the voidfish and John and most of the other stuff like the FLAMING POISONING RAGING SWIRD OF DOOM

By the time im done with this second play through, i will have knocked out nearly 200 hour's of TAZ.
I just relistened to the entire series so I could spot all the inadvertent foreshadowing and now I'm doing the same.
Kuroba tell me about it. Ive now logged more than 200 hours of TAZ.
And yeah, you absolutely pick up on lots of little cues in the 2nd run.
Quick question, what is "The Adventure Zone"?
@@zac5805 The Adventire Zone is a podcast, available on spotify, initially about a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, but has branched off into other games when that campaign ended.
I love the head bobs, I love the pacing, I love how dynamic and alive everything feels, I love the matching music to story, I love the colors, I love the art, I love roswell and joaquin, I love this, thanks for this. Thank you!
Happy anniversary!! I still love this and watch it often
As someone who doesn't know what "the adventure zone" is. Lets see if i get this right
The guy in the suit atracks the people of the white ship.
Lightmagician60 I wonder what the suit guy name is...🤔
@@kristabautzmann5298 probably "Suit Guy"
Not entirely wrong, but the suit guy is the guy that created the being. And he only appears at the end.
Turi Drowned Ohhh, I see!
He’s called John, the guy in the suit
First watch: "oo, TAZ thinger."
200 watches later: "must hear song and see bobbing animations."
I know exactly what you mean, I've started to crave this video
@Eren Yıldırım Taz stands for the adventure zone, it's a real play podcast, I listened on Spotify but I'm sure you can find it anywhere you get podcasts
It's so, so good and I wish you luck comrade
Eren Yıldırım maximumfun.org listed under their comedy section. There's a load of other stuff but I've never had the interest apart from the McElroys' D&D podcast on there.
They good bobs tho
Close enough except he created the black thing
Oh shut the slayer is nearby
You should fully listen to TAZ balance then rewatch this (TAZ is a podcast)
The little spin on the fist “We’re going for a ride” is so charming.
Literally this alone convinced me to start listening to TAZ, so I can only recognize a few scenes. This is honestly the best animation I have ever seen in my whole entire life what
How far are you now
Same
Yeah same here, just started listening to the 3erd episode of "here there be gerblins"
Oof huge spoilers here
Same please help it’s part of my personality now
I really like the concept of John, something so impossible inhuman, an eldritch horror, born from one man feeling empty inside and spreading that to others.
Now I want to see like the opposite, of a guy who feels a lot of happiness and spreads it to others
Space Dwarf just play the danganronpa games. Naegi is hope boi.
@@SamuraiDestroy because they’re podcasts, which is an entirely audio-based medium
@@cryptiddmashups I know but if Balance is fully animated then wouldn't there be more fully animated episodes than that?
thank god someone mentioned what this is because ive never seen tgis and thought i was watching some kind of fever dream
Well I did

I want to thank you immensely for introducing me to the adventure zone. after listening to the whole thing over the span of a few months I get all the references and i love this video even more. my favorite part is how the carecters apear in the order tey were summoned. I love the way they all look (:
The smooth transitions are everything! It makes it have this lovely tone.
So this song is my alarm so that was slightly jarring initially lol
But the animation here is beautiful and worked so well with the song! I’m definitely sending this to all my friends who like The Adventure Zone cause they need to see it
Dude this song is perfect for an alarm clock why didn't I think of that

I've never once heard of The Adventure Zone yet somehow I've made the villain of the story I'm writing EXACTLY like what seems to be the villain of this... Even down to a similar design for an ultimate form like at 2:04...
This is another one of those ones I'm going to watch over and over because this is just so firkin good, you are made of awesome.
Brilliant work. This must have taken you 6ever.

I’m going to look into now just because of this video. 😁😁

@@viiravos
That's the best fucking pfp I have seen ever.
6 years later i still know nothing about this other than john is the hunger and based af, still a peak animatic though
Listen to The Adventure Zone 🙏
I feel like John hunger goes under-appreciated as a character. He has such a complex characterization, especially for somebody who wasn't formally introduced until really late in the story.
I’ve never felt the urge to willingly die to protect a piece of art before but I guess that’s changed now

Pilot Omi thank u for ur service 😔✊
I have no clue what this podcast is about, but I will die for everybody in this video
It's actually pretty frightening about how accurate the song is to the story
What Is TAZ?
Art imitates art 😊
I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this, but I like what I see.

Omg using the people they called through the bond engine as transitions, FUCKING GENIUS
This is a perfect "end credits" scene for The Adventure Zone. The animation, the song choice, the featured scenes. It so accurstely encapsulates TAZ. Especially the Stolen Century arc. Just undescribably emotional and beautiful. Thank you
At first I was like, oh this is a nice D&D campaign, then I realized that TAZ was "the adventure zone". still an amazing animatic.
And then I remembered that it was still a D&D
I wouldn't have chosen this song initially, but by god you made it work perfectly. One of the best tributes out there! (also kudos on making content about John, it's too rare)

Tbh, this is hardly an animatic. It boarders on pure animation, the tweening is so smooth and fluid. It is amazing work, and wonderful to look at!
This introduced me to TAZ. You are directly responsible for me loving this podcast, for my renewed excitement over DND and for just me knowing about these characters. I just want to say thank you.

Not me, I was watching an animatic including the song
Still had no idea what the Adventure Zone was, I'd heard the name before but never bothered to find out what it was
Seeing this intrigued me to find out and I can safely say that I'm hooked now. Thank you for gracing us with your masterpiece, your talent deserves more than a couple of subs.

@@grease7425 I finished the entire balance arc a couple weeks ago.
Merle and John friggin appearing and dropping onto the chairs on "It's a bitch convincing people to like you" made me crack up. Quality animation!
I've have watched over 10 times now...
And I'm not stopping any time soon!
Same my freind told me the name
like everything about this is amazing?!?!?!?! like so much so that it actually confuses me on how amazing, like I actually suspect you might be a wizard or something.
With context it's even better, of course.
tbh this is what made me find TAZ xD

@@gunfiend5175 The Adventure Zone, specifically The Balance Arc. It's a very good D&D podcast, back before that was a common thing, by a group of comedians. It's a very solid story with excellent writing and hilarious moments, and a few INSANE payoffs. This animation is based on it. I highly recommend listening to it if you get the chance.
It's funny, I watched this back when it had a few thousand views if that, and tried to get others to watch it.
