Thanks for the shoutout! 🙌 I've def run an absurd amount of treadmill miles this winter lol 😆 It was also so incredible seeing so many hobby joggers putting in the work! Great initiative! 👏 Another helpful and timely training talk! I needed to hear this. It's the "something's gotta give" expression applied to running; a consistent trajectory of growth requires goal oriented + intentional change. Thanks for sharing!
I'm also an advocate of proper recovery. That was my first thought when I got symptomatic with my anemia. When that didn't help, then I looked elsewhere. I like that you go through the thought process of trying to improve because everyone has different abilities and constraints.
I really enjoy these recent training talks. I like the fact that you are advocating for shorter recoveries between interval reps. This has been how I’ve structured my training the last year so help maintain speed for a long duration (simulate race day conditions). I also had a break through workout this past week where I averaged paces under my goal 10K in my final workout of the training block. I finished the week with my 10K race yesterday in a time of 41:45 (new PR) and finally getting sub 42’, 6th overall of 190, and 2nd of 13 in my age bracket. An amazing feeling leaving the race because I trusted the mileage and work out in leading up to race day. Next goal will be a sub 41’ 10K build or 1:30 HM (current HM PR is 1:34:29) maybe even later this year. Up Your Best!
@ It felt amazing yesterday and even after losing about 15 seconds at 10 seconds into the race. My water bottle fell out of my FlipBelt (forgot to check it was secured) and had to go back to grab it while not getting trampled. Spent the first .2 miles to catch up to my run group before running past them and settling into a grove a half mile in. Best part, timing and scoring had my final mile at 5:32, which I’m still unsure if that was correct, but I put everything I had into it.
My man really hates winter. But come on, training in the winter is the best, less distractions, fewer people out and it's just more hardcore come on. Grind in the winter shine in the summer, bang. The winter is when we improve ourselves.
@@supwell its a good time to be a celtics fan, I started playing basketball because of lebron in his first time in cleveland I saw a playoff game against celtics I had 0 athletic experience back then. Part of the reason I run missed the grind of training every day towards a goal now that I cant be part of a team

Need to up your post run reviews and your NA beer guzzling scenes with a bangin' bucket hat, Supwell certified, of course.
That's a great idea - Supwell buckets coming for spring/summer 2025 🙌🏽

My man said “only a 2:39 marathoner” lol
Reducing mileage to 100/week is crazy
