Setting Sail from Costa Rica to Mexico; The Start of Three Weeks at Sea | Episode 70

- We have been cleared to leave Costa Rica for our longest sail yet to Mexico. After nearly 2 months spent in Costa Rica, or should I say the coast of Costa Rica, all during the pandemic of 2020, we now are leaving for Mexico.
Customs and immigration have stamped our passports, our bilges are full of food, and we are ready to set sail. On this episode, we take off from safe harbour of Marina Papagayo and sail out to sea with anticipation of three weeks on the open ocean.
We capture some on the most incredible underwater footage of dolphins as the escort us out to sea and on for our biggest adventure yet. We have perfect winds for the first 100 nautical miles and settle into a long and much anticipated trip for the Baja of California.

WoWzers .... did you get a Tuna? ..... the Dolphin cam, excellent, under water life is so incredible ... project idea .. get it so you have live images on your TV or whatever monitor, sorta like a live ever changing picture on the wall .. even for when you are anchored, and if you have underwater lights .. well you get the drift, could be fun .... becalmed, forces you to relax and enjoy the time, no I gotta go do this, there is that cove I wanna see .... thx for sharing .... and as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans .....

Love the dolphin cam and Ericas high pitched squeals woke up dog and cat in the Chicagoland area. Surprised Erica did not drop a line in when you passed the bait ball for a chance at a tuna. By the way, why did you not punch immediately south on your way to the South Pacific? Why north to Cabo first? Is it more planning, boat work and provisioning before heading to the Marquesas islands? Waiting for a better weather/wind window?

Oh we so wish we did. I think we were a little shocked to see them too, and it happened so fast by the time we got the boat close enough. That would have been some real good filming! Thanks for watching!
Just curious, why did you skip all the other ports in Mexico?
Our original plan was to make it all the way to Cabo, we just needed to be in the Sea of Cortez by June, so unfortunately our timing wouldn't allow for the other ports. But you will see where we did go in the upcoming episodes. Stay tuned.5
So why didn't you film underwater when the tuna and dolphin 🐬 were jumping ?
Man I so wish we did. At the time we were just so taken back by it and didn't think of grabbing the dolphin cam. It happened pretty quickly and by the time we made moves to film it the tuna were gone. Definitely missed that one.

WE really did, but everything happened so quickly by the time we realized what was going on and we would of missed watching it if we scrambled for the underwater cam. Those tuna are quick! Thanks for watching!
