  • I went out with my Friend Rob who is the Owner of The Big Dig Florida. This is one of the first (perhaps only) 100% legal, insured, and open-to-the-public arrowhead, spearpoint, and artifact dig sites in Florida. Similar open-to-public sites exist in Texas; however, only in Florida can you discover the coveted Coral Spear point made from Agatized Coral. Florida is one of the only places in the world where ancient man utilized this beautiful material to make tools. Come on out and find some treasure and maybe ill see you out there!

    About me:
Hi! My name is Rick. I dig, scuba dive, and metal-detect to discover fossils, artifacts, and all kinds of treasures! I enjoy searching for anything lost, rare, shiny, old, or interesting. I enjoy filming and sharing my adventures on UA-cam. When hunting on land I primarily search by digging and excavating artifacts such as arrowheads, spear points, and other Native American artifacts. When I am not hunting for relics I am usually scuba diving or free-diving dark water rivers throughout Florida and the US east coast. Most places I dive have minimal visibility (usually less than 2-3 inches and sometimes no visibility at all). I also contend with wildlife hazards such as alligators, snakes, and insects. I am a highly trained diver and SCUBA instructor and use my training to reduce these risks; however, diving solo in such conditions is dangerous I do not recommend anyone attempt this without similar proper training and experience. All artifacts I collect are found on private property with the land owner's permission. Removing any artifact in the State of Florida from state or federal land, including waterways is illegal.
Have any questions? Need help identifying a fossil or artifact? Feel free to email me anytime! I'm open to discussing fossils, artifacts, collaborations, sponsorships, product reviews, and more! Email: rrcfla@gmail.com

Killer points guys. Someone needs to talk to DeSantis about the restrictions, on picking them up in the streams.

Agreed. Isn’t it ironic that so much land is destroyed for buildings and roads which no doubt destroys countless artifacts, but people that can value and protect them are criminals if they take them home?

It's moronic even, at lake yellowstone, they built up the damn area to flood the banks a few more feet so people couldn't pick them up. They would basically rather destroy them then let us pick them up.

Just now finding your channel and gave you a sub. That Benton was amazing! We are on a Benton site right now, but the ones we find are normally not that big. Thanks again for sharing and Happy Hunting on your next adventure. 👍🏻

I've found some similar in SE MS. I've got a big broken piece of that Tallahatta quartz sitting on my coffee table. I found it in my yard when I was cutting the grass las year.

Panacea Florida, Ocala Florida, and Gainsville Fl, and Keystone Heights, are my favorite Florida sites. Don't get caught with points in your pockets though!!!. These fellers are legal, and working hand in hand with N.A.G.P.R.A. That is indeed a rare thing. I have several burial cairns that I've been keeping hidden from nighthawks for many years, but honestly it's getting harder to keep them hidden. I wish N.A.G.P.R.A would dig them up and repatriate them before some jerk digs them up for their grave goods. Nothing worse than a nighthawk.

@@DigDiveDiscover Great! Can't wait to see the improvements. Could you make a video about the legal requirements on fossil hunting and what one is allowed to keep? It would be especially interesting how this works for foreigners. I am from germany and I would love to take home some fossils, artifacts and amethysts.
