@Lintto1 I don't have anything in particular planned, as I've posted several things already on my various LGR forums (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc). I may do something if I get the chance, but those kinds of videos often take weeks of planning, and I'd have to pretty much drop every other video I have in the works right now to do so.
I love this game. I often catch myself in replaying it also on my 486 PC.... highly addictive and so simple. It was one of the favorite games of my mother back then
@5:20- good news! I have spoken to Bill Soleau a few days ago and he has given me his blessing to port Balloon Challenge over to Android. So watch this space ... it is now July 2015. Hoping to have something up for free without annoying adverts or other intrusive stuff by the end of the year (just finishing uni first - but I have made a start!). Two graphics modes hopefully, 1 x original graphics, 1 x vector graphics if I can get my head round it. Either way its gonna be cool! My credentials? Coded for 30 years, love retro games. Check out my Commodore PET Nightmare Park port to Android (another free game) on the Play Store until BC is released. x
therealeasterbunny Dude, email me at Clint@lazygamereviews.com if you'd like to chat about it, I'll totally review this. I want a port of this so badly, haha.
therealeasterbunny Wow Please!!! make this game. I love it and have said many times that it would be so great ported to android. It is a great way to pass the time. simple yet addicting. Thanks so much in advance!
Tom H Yeah, no worries, its gonna be cool. Formal graphics and coding now under way ... why not join the Facebook group at facebook.com/groups/113814855629779/ for updates and also to see some screenshots and code in action? :) I'm looking at Nov or Dec 2015 for free release :)
+therealeasterbunny This is awesome. "That would be perfect for Android" is the first thing that came to my mind after I saw the gameplay (I didn't know this game before), and then LGR said it, and then you are actually making it. How cool is that!
I miss the cool intro you had some months back. Digged the music. As for the OT, Looks lime a killer mp game. Several layers of strategy and a simple interface.
@phreakindee Ha! Yeah even though I heard you I must have been looking off to the side of the screen instead of seeing the human/computer option! I was thinking there was a lack of explanation there, where are the setup screens??? Hot-seat of course! Thanks though!
I’m curious to know more about the multiplayer mode. What do the setup screens for multiplayer look like? Serial cable to another computer, a network connection with your home computers, online, or all the above? If online how exactly does that work? How many people can you find that are playing? Can't see the benefit to paying for this feature. Even in a home network, you have to have friends, we all know us computer nerds are lacking in that department, ha!
The only game I've played by this company would have been Crusher Castle--I suggest you review that game. That was a fun one, but it did seem a tad on the random side.
@mocthezuma Yes, but the title and description have almost nothing else similar. I'm sure there are more videos on UA-cam with the words "balloon" that does not involve girls blowing them. So it's pretty random.
I like Isle Wars, a Risk clone. They still sell those games for like $12/$18 even though K-Mart used to sell registered versions for 99 cents in 1995. Maybe I'll buy one someday since they gave me a ton of hours of... pseudo-enjoyment... eh, f it, $1 is enough! haha
A very interesting yet incredibly simple design. I've been looking into doing some IOS games (though you have to use a friggin' Mac to upload the files - Damn Apple being PC hating douchebags), so this might be a nifty idea to expand upon for a quick and easy game. Unity's IOS extension costs $500, so I'm not entirely sold on the idea yet as it may be tough to make the money back.
I remember my dad bought me my first joystick from a computer fair in London. It was amazing and rather intimidating but he was just glad he had someone to give him an excuse to go.
@BeeFive13 A ton. It's just it takes a LOT of work to put together a video (properly) about hardware. So they happen rarely.
@Anthoric Agreed!

@CornerBoy Awesome, I love ending videos that way :)
@alanw3000 Quite possibly, yes. Likely near the end of the month.
@1:29 is the best out-of-context line ever
@IDontDoDrumCovers I have fond memories of both Clyde's Adventure and Revenge. Hope to cover them on LGR someday.
I used to play this game ALL the time. This one and Quarry were my favourites. They basically define my childhood.
@darestium I'd love to, but I do not yet own a copy. If I come into possession of it, I'll add it to the list of potential review candidates.
@MrShot97 I showed it in the video, it's just hot-seat local multiplayer. 04:18
I've been trying to find this game for ages, I forgot the name and was unable to find it.. until now. Thank you again for the nostalgia :D

omg even the soleau website looks like something straight from the 90s! nostalgia overload!
Gameplay looked so awesome that I immadetly downloaded it to give it a try. And it is as great as you said. Thanks :D
The Jill of the Jungle menu song.
"For the Creative User" is a pretty kickass slogan for a software company.
I love it when you review an old dos game with no music and the video slowly fades with the bleeps and bloops from the pc speaker.
I think these were the guys who made "Block Man" - now that was a game I had a lot of fun with as a kid.
Ahhhhhh that logo makes me think of Beatle Run and Quarry. Many hours of rage!
thought i'd watched all your reviews but no aqua man made me find this! praise the lord!
Awww balloon challenge! I remember that game! It was awesome.

Lazy Game Reviews lol, no worries dude. Will ping an email, and some initial dev screenshots to you. Cheers Clint!

Ahh the Shareware scene. Oh the memories..

I love this game!
Going from ballet to PC programming is odd, but was a good change of pace for them, it seems.
Looks interesting. I don't recall if I ever heard of this before.
love the jill of the jungle BGM great stoner music 8)
You ever review the VERY old school Backyard Sports like Baseball (1), Soccer (1) or FOOTBALL (1)?

Looks like the price has dropped. It's now $8, along with seemingly all the other Soleau DOS games.
i remember bolo adventures. really tough game from what i can remember.
@GOOBENsticks Yea... strange. But the word "balloon" is surprisingly similar to the word "balloon".
Another excellent review here Phreak. I do remember my father having the shareware version of this game when I was still in preschool.
The only game I've played by this company would have been Crusher Castle--I suggest you review that game. That was a fun one, but it did seem a tad on the random side.
Oh man, Ant run... now that was a classic
@mocthezuma Yes, but the title and description have almost nothing else similar. I'm sure there are more videos on UA-cam with the words "balloon" that does not involve girls blowing them. So it's pretty random.
Wow, I actually played the heck out of this..
Holy crap! I totally forgot about this game. Thanks for the nostalgia!

Went to Soleau.com, I love how his "New Game Releases" are 15 year old games. :)
Man you had to be clever for those Soleau games, I never was.
Are there many games you haven't played at some point?
Joker: HE STOLE MY BALLOONS!
What's the music in the beginning?
Hey, have you ever played the Penumbra/Amnesia games? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.
I misread this as Ballroom Challenge at first
Do you know about a really terrible alphabet game from the 80s for the IBM DOS PC. It had digitized voice.
Insane... prices ARE still more than 10 bucks... geez...
Looks fun, even if it is simplistic.
@darestium Send it to Pheakindee!

Now let's begin programming the iOS/Android app then!! :D
8 years after this video and a lifetime after initial release the Soleau website is still up and running!!
Oh that mouse looks an awful like my PS/2 style mouse for my Acorn Archie A3000. :)
ballet dancer to programmers?
Are you serious?
@rhiannon650 Hello sir who doesn't like balloons.
Can this game still be played on a Windows 10 computer? What can I do if it doesn't work?
Dosbox is your friend, works with Boloball.
Clint, Im confused, how do i get my balls to drop. Is there a glitch in the system?
ahhh pcspeaker :)
Where can I play this game? What about the mouse game too?
You should review my farts. lololololol jk.
IDK I'm going nuts today.
"Good games are good"
Clint, 2011
I agree :D
2:25, dude, you should play Donkey Kong, how high can you get ?
What the hell, girls blowing balloons in the related videos
Sol
I miss the intro music!
I remember my dad bought me my first joystick from a computer fair in London. It was amazing and rather intimidating but he was just glad he had someone to give him an excuse to go.
Oddly addicting. My way of playing is I try to always get at least 200 points more than the computer, sometimes more if I'm feeling sadistic.
@TheRetroGamerGuy female actually but its just a pretty annoying game looks like..........
