  • MOJAVE AIR & SPACEPORT, CA - Wasabi Air Racing tests new prototype turbo engines.
The Czech manufactured TJ40 engines are mounted onto a highly modified Scale Composites Model 54 Quickee frame. Wasabi Air Racing test pilot Elliot Sequin brought the engine power up to 20% causing the Quickee to roll forward a few feet.
Project: Twerp (Tandem Wing Engine Research Platform)
Description: The quickie is a small and efficient airframe perfect for demonstrating and developing the small power plants currently being developed for the next generation of military and commercial drones. Wasabi's combination of design build and test experience allows us to put this PBS TJ40 in the air at high altitude gathering data faster than would otherwise be possible even with an unmanned platform.
