The dip is pretty awesome. Just make sure your equipment is in good working order and get the spraying distance right. It would likely help a lot to at least have a portable spray booth.
I like how the plasti-dip guru was all like, "The distance doesn't really matter." And then proceeds to say you can't be too far away or too close. Sounds like it certainly matters 😂
@@estebanod idk why you feel that way. I paint as a hobby and do commision work from time to time. Distance and how fast you wave the paint over the surface certainly matters. Spraying the paint too close it will pool and drip. Too far away, the paint dries before it makes contact causing a frosting/rough textured surface. You should always test paints you're not familiar with to figure out the proper distance and speed you need for it to lay smooth.
@@thatmiatadude3997 I have a mini cooper, trying to decide right now if I'm going to wrap it or dip it. It's already a really small car, and I'd only be covering the bottom half, since the top half is almost all glass. I probably could do it for around $300
Nolan definitely "redipped" himself! About 10 years ago, some friends and I opened up a business to sell auto parts, perform auto detailing, and also Plastidip entire vehicles, wheels, individual body parts, etc. The dipping side of the business was at first very strenuous, we were spending a lot of time trying to find the right guns to spray with, what techniques worked best and how much actual dip it took to do a legitimate wrap job! DipYourCars full car kit would barely get you through half a car before needing to clean out the provided gun with the remover(did not go very far), it was not cost effective and we were just flying through funds from buying so much materials to keep guns clean. We finally got a profitable process going, and we were charging customers a little more than the DIY kits. and we did about a dozen REALLY awesome looking Dipped cars. If you can get a solid process down then it is fun and easy to do and your car could come out looking great! Thanks for doing a Part 2 Donut! Avid fan of the page anda huge supporter! If you guys are looking for another host... I'm available 😉😁
I agree. I think just cleaning up the paint they have and letting the contrast between the brr brr freezy polar white and the dark as the night carbon fiber is a good combo.
Yea I used a high quality 3M matte black wrap on my hood because the paint was fucked and I wanted to try the wrap. Looked cool for a long time but I got lazy and left it on for like 7 years.... my god was it hard to pull that shit off
@DJ Coin Laundry It's cause studded tires kick up a lot of small fragments on dry roads or whatnot, (which is why they're only legal in places you often can't get by without them.)
HiCar is the son that got the best things when they came out, LowCar is the younger brother that got the hand-me-downs but made use of them as he could.
I wouldve loved to see the “HI” z be a bright yellow orange to correlate with the whole Hi:Low logos they have going on. Since the Low is blue and so is its correlating z. Just sayin...
@Mobile Games some people just aren’t really good at certain things. If I gave you instructions on how to knit a sweater, how good would you be? I expect you to do a professional job and no less. Let me guess, the moment you started driving stick shift, you were a drift god from the jump? Lol
Thats awesome you guys communicated with Fonzi and got the job done correctly. Not only you instilled integrity back into your plasti dip video by accepting user error..lol, but showed how communication solves problems even if its cheap. Im getting the hyper titanium from dipmycar. I think i like the cheap car more.
What? Why? That teal looks really good. Matches the car. Fun and flamboyant. Dont take this sort of stuff so seriously! *retreats back to his ash grey Touareg*
When pouring from an aluminum can like that, you turn it to the other side so its more accurate and less messy. Thats why they put the hole closer to one side than the other. One side for when it's full, and one side for when its empty...
Yeah, cheap requires more work, but it also is cheaper. How much money and time is a person willing/able to put into their build? That's the real question.
@@shred1894 Depends on what they're using the car for. If it's for competing, save and put quality parts towards performance .. engine, suspension, etc... but cheaping out on paint and body work is okay especially if you're going to beat on it regularly. If it's a daily, you shouldn't cheap out on anything tbh. Have patience to save for quality body work / kits and a real paint job so you're proud of what you're driving in. Also, putting quality parts in your engine so you're not worried about your car sitting on the side of a highway every other week and of course quality suspension, brakes, arms n all those goodies is well a no brainer for making sure you keep your life on the road. If you're just learning and have a true beater with a no fucks given mentality, ebay the hell out of it so when your real project car comes along it goes smoothly.
@@adamantiumlife9875 obviously you shouldn't cheap out on the important stuff that keeps it running, but there are many price ranges and quality ranges of parts, and a decent quality cheaper part can be better than an expensive part that is only expensive because of the brand name
By the end of this second dip, Nolan was finally spraying with skill. That's not surprising. If you've never sprayed a car, this is a better way to learn that having to strip a crappy paint job and respray. If they had DIY'd the wrap, I bet it would've been a similar story. With the lower cost of the Low Car's dip, you can afford such learning curve, and once you're good at it, you can color change as much as you'd like. Oh, and if the body kit changes again, the dip is a lot faster and cheaper to get on the new kit.
@@shred1894 I think you misunderstood what I said. I wasn't talking about quality as in the most expensive out there. Meaning when I say quality I'm not saying buy $4000 coilovers just because they're expensive or a certain brand, but also reconsider those unreliable $400 ones that will do more damage to your car in a year and you'll end up spending more just having to keep replacing them. Save up for another couple months and maybe find quality ones that are around $1-$1.5K that not only will last longer, but perform how they should.
As someone who doesn't spray cars, but does model kits, the secret to a good coat is the same no matter what you're working on. MULTIPLE LAYERS OF LIGHT COATS In any case, HOT DAMN does the car look good. Excellent work!

My mind read that in Jeremy Clarkson’s voice
I actually really enjoy this show, I recently got a car and wanted to get into car culture. It seemed really expensive at first and impossible to get into on a lower budget, but these videos help prove that otherwise. Keep it up!
Best of luck! (:

I started tuning my Fiesta ST and got some second hand parts like a intercooler and used x37 turbo. You can save a lot of money by using second hand parts. You just need to look around a little more.
@@ismail10_02 Thanks! I got a G35 Coupe and wanted to get into some parts like an exhaust, lowering the suspension/camber, and new headlights . Then moving on to cool air intake and body kit for air flow. Once aesthetically pleasing I was gonna do things like inter cooler or even a small turbo if the engine bay had room. Thanks for the help tho, new parts looked kind of expensive at first from big name websites.
The dip is pretty awesome. Just make sure your equipment is in good working order and get the spraying distance right. It would likely help a lot to at least have a portable spray booth.
Nolan : *Destroys the companies reputation*
Company owner : Understandable, have a great day
Just joking btw, keep it up Nolan, great work this time
They are so not professional, and that's what makes it great
I like how everytime they list the brakes it shows the brakes on fire
I like how the plasti-dip guru was all like, "The distance doesn't really matter." And then proceeds to say you can't be too far away or too close. Sounds like it certainly matters 😂
You're being pedantic
@@estebanod idk why you feel that way. I paint as a hobby and do commision work from time to time. Distance and how fast you wave the paint over the surface certainly matters. Spraying the paint too close it will pool and drip. Too far away, the paint dries before it makes contact causing a frosting/rough textured surface. You should always test paints you're not familiar with to figure out the proper distance and speed you need for it to lay smooth.

Fonzi is the man, totally helped me get great results on some cheap winter wheels!
This might be an unpopular opinion but LowCar actually looks better without any dipping.
Nah I’ve been saying it looks so clean
I agree. I think just cleaning up the paint they have and letting the contrast between the brr brr freezy polar white and the dark as the night carbon fiber is a good combo.
Yes.
One without dipping is so satisfying 🤩 m.ua-cam.com/video/Tr_pPO0QuXM/v-deo.html

Low car always has issues even when they get a kit specially made for them 😭😭
Yeah, cheap requires more work, but it also is cheaper.
