I have a similar unit in my 2011 Sienna. My steering wheel controls didn't work either, and at night they also no longer lit up. On the new harness that plugs into the factory steering wheel controls, one of the wires in the adapter (orange, if I remember correctly), jumpers over to another connector in the harness. I had to cut that wire so that it only went to the steering wheel control circuit. Everything came to life and I was able to program the buttons successfully. The mode/mute button is now only mute, but it all works flawlessly. Look into that. I love the head unit otherwise, and enjoy the android auto feature. I have SXM in another car, so on this one I can use the SXM app though android auto without additional charges. Enjoy!
try and long press volume down. then it will prompt you to press the function you want to associate it to. press volume - on the screen. worked for me. do that for the rest of the functions.
I purchased a Roinvou head unit and I am not able to program the left steering wheel buttons. I tried the long press volume down trick and nothing happened.
@@mokhlesmuntasir2236 fixing steering wheel is seeting up only on the factory seetings and find your vehicle name and year. Ones its setup the steering wheel should work
Need to go to settings then to factory settings and choose no canbus then it should work , if you can't access the settings the password should be 0000 8888 or 6666

I bought that same thing for about $140 on eBay and what a disappointment. Everything was just crappy. The Android layout they advertise is completely different to what I got. Maybe it was the settings but no instructions didn't help. Do not go skimping on the memory you really have to go up on the memory or it will be slow as hell. Wi-Fi or Bluetooth carplay is too slow and you need to only use USB. Connecting multiple phones on the Android platform is garbage and buggy.
