I can’t believe I would ever utter these words, but I actually love the way the new Prius looks!
It looks like a real car.
I agree. I saw one in my neighborhood a few weeks back, and it looks even better in person. Dare I say it’s beautiful.
Same 😂😂😢😅😅
It's not bad to be fair.
The back end actually looks reasonable!
Your knowledge, humor and editing are unmatched on YT.
I had this solar panel idea while I was 7 yrs old when teacher asked us to draw some inventions.
Anyways, in one day, the solar panel will be so efficient that it will charge the car while driving in the daylight.
Sarah, you are awesome - all the other car reviews are boring and incomplete in comparison.
Agreed! I also like Savagegeese, and RCR for less serious reviews lol
The Throttle House guys in Canada are also funny. Us car enthusiasts are spoiled by great creators! Also Bill from Curious Cars is hilarious. Sarah is awesome!
I agree! The others appear to be like techno-cheerleading industry sycophants.
Sarah, you get in and about the vehicle measuring stuff and reporting! I am now subscribed for all of what you will produce!
Sarah has literally done the best 5th Generation Prius Prime review on YT. Now I bleeping want one…..!!! 😊👍🏾
To help clarify the eCVT, there is no belt or chain used in the more traditional CVT. It uses the MGU1 and MGU2 to keep the engine at peak RPM so that it is providing maximum output. So the transmission is an all mechanical drivetrain that is a mixture of ICE and Electric motors. So the engine will sit at a constant speed when you give it the beans and the electric motors provide the variable output as the car goes faster.
Imagine an ev with an electric generator hooked up
The honda eCVT is a bit better then the toyota eCVT as the toyota one requires one motor to always be spinning in time with the engine to vary that rate of power via a planetary gear set
This is a perfect way to explain the “transmission” :)
@@TheMarcQ nope, that's very wrong. ICE is very much mechanically linked to the wheels. What you're describing is how the BMW i3 REx works.
Cheers that helps explain it :)
Lol, you're such a geek Sarah. You're literally my favorite person I don't actually know.
This car has to be the greatest improved car from generation to generation that damned near ever existed. I am so happy to see Toyota making attractive cars again.
Would be nice if they made ugly indestructible cars again... Who cares how nice it looks when it's sitting on the side of the highway???
100%
But bring back manual transmissions!
Priuses are the lowest cost per mile vehicle to own though. That's why taxis end up all using them.@@bmw328igearhead
@@pitrescuethere's manual options on their trucks still
I love how excited you get about the little features and do-dads, don’t ever change.
Thank you Sarah. Please dont stop. I look foward to your posts. Much respect for what you do
Love you Sarah ❤❤
Thank you Sarah!
Hi Sarah. Hope all is well with you. I watched your last video about working so hard and I will tell you that I felt the same way at times wondering the the same thing. I'm retired now from the construction industry and look back at all I that I acoplissed in mylife and know what I was all about. Hold your head up high because you are a talented person. PS: Thank you for your service to our country,a d keep up the awesome work.
Some older Audis had a solar roof that would power ventilation that keeps the interior somewhat cooler when parked. I never understood why this wasn't more widespread.
The 2010 Prius also had this feature. I’m not sure why they removed it from newer models.
So did Saab.
My '93 S6 Avant had the solar roof, and it NEVER worked properly.
Mazda had it too.
too expensive to repair if it got into a car accident?
Sarah I love the way you give us the info !
❤
One of my family members has the standard model Pruis and they love it getting over 50 mpgs! They only have to fill the tank once a month!!
This new gen looks really good too!
Toyota continues to improve the Prius in features, performance, and looks. I can certainly understand why many people love them. Great honest, unbiased review. Loved the “beans” graphics during the acceleration test. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Although I think Toyota took a major step back with the last generation Prius. I currently have a gen 3 (that has a solar panel for ventilation), and when Toyota came out with the ugly gen 4, I thought my next car would not be a Prius. However seeing this design, and the EV range of the Prime, I've made a deposit on one.
We have had two Prius. Both with well over 125,000 miles, the best part we have not had to do any unusual types of maintenance just oil changes, tires, and one needed rear brakes. They are GLC older people will remember the GLC
The japanese model is even more badass looking, great review sis, thanx for your service
As always, your reviews are the 💣. ❤ (I had to rewind 3x due to laughter.) 😅 Never liked Prius styling until this gen and now can't believe I am saying I want one!
Thank you so much, Sarah, for always bringing your delightful self to an info rich, useful and objective review. 👍🏼🙏😊
This little thing would a blast on a small, twisty turny road course. There were a few in North Florida\Georgia line tracks. Even a 1/4 mile oval. A few in mid- Michigan, too. Sticky Yokohama's would do.
2010 was the best design until now. My son bought one a few years ago in showroom condition!
Very intelligent and informative as always. Thank you.
Definitely looking forward to that nature channel you’re creating!😂
So pleased to see this Sarah. Im one of those boring buggers that drive a CT200H with the original Prius drive train. I love it actually but im also really happy that Toyota are moving their game on a bit.
Great review aa usual, love your channel.
Why are we annoying I love my ct😂
@@thegnomegang6825 Well it's a fair question, although annoying wasn't actually the word I used. I guess I've seen so many reviews saying that the car is boring and anyone interested in cars or driving wouldn't have one (I disagree on both points btw) that I've sort of absorbed this into my subconscious .
I flippin love mine though, as you do yours.
I have said the exact same thing about it not being a CVT for years. You're the first UA-camr I've watched who explains it correctly! ❤
What you said…!!! 😃👍🏾
I really enjoy your channel, your videos are amazing, your editing skils with blend and timing are the best...fun, entertaining and truly appreciated.. awesome job as always!
You did a great job walking us through how the MGs works, thank you. Great interview as all. RIP robot lol...
I like to hear you talk science and active than the Prius ‘s functionalities. ❤ great job Missy car scientist. More posting please.
I feel like seat coolers should be more popular than heated seats.
And why call them "ventilated" instead of "cooled"? You can ventilate with hot air!
You should definitely start a nature review channel, I want to hear more about the green pokey thing!
your review videos are getting better and better, love it
Back in the 80s, upgrading to 12" brakes and 50 series tires is what we'd do to our cars to make them better. Nowdays the defacto econo-car of our time comes with it from the factory, lol
Should see how big the Carbon Ceramic brakes are on the Audi RS7 and RSQ8...
10 piston calipers
17.5" rotors
$5000 per pad set, $10,000 per rotor.... $50,000 (+ labour) to do a brake job on one of these vehicles.
Even "bad" cars today are still leagues ahead of what they were even 20 years ago.
@@bmw328igearhead😮😱😱😱😱😱
Another great review from you Sarah, we appreciate your work.
Great job on the video Sarah! Thanks for making it.
It’s about time the Prius looks like a reasonable vehicle.
Always a great review Sarah! 👏🏻
This is my current dream car, I would eat noodles every day for 3 years to afford it haha
I dont expect to ever have one of these but I do like it.
The way you get neutral is to hold it. Thats so you dont accidentally knock it into neutral because it seems fairly easy to do so if it was bump only.
But it looks WAY better than previous generations and the weight is great too. If the top of the line came down in price and I needed a daily driver Id consider one of these.
Loved the technical explanation w/ the "transmission", etc.👍
Just got my new shirt, great quality and looks great ! Thanks Sarah
Thanks for another freakin awesome video!🐧🌻
Thanks Sarah, a lot of fun!
I want a Prius Prime with the solar panel (and fully loaded advanced technology package) like the one you drove!
Another great spec detailed review. 🔥
If I were ever to buy a Prius this might be it.
Thank you for what you do!
Schwarzenegger:”I swear I will not kill anyone “. 😂
Love the whole dash layout
I love the in depth reviews, from the engine, suspension, repairability and the technical issues. Thanks for the awesome information. The braking tests are very entertaining.
Every male is scared of being judged by the calipers. My biceps are not big enough
Idk why I watch car review videos but Sarah does it best ❤
I love your creative humor
Thanks Sarah for another great review
Bought one. Love it.
It’s a really desirable car now. I’d have it as a daily with no issues at all.
Ur still my "Fav" Sarah! The car Note! Thank you, J
Great review Sarah!
Thank you for posting this interesting informative review of the Prius. You packed a lot of information in a short video.
Great video! So much info. Oh, and you got a sub by biting the yellow finger stick puppet thingie at the 3:00 min marker. LOVE it!❤
Thank you for another great video Sarah 👍
Wow, nice fun review video!
That was a savvy / fun review.
That's the first of your reviews I've seen.
I senced you really love touring this Prius, that entertaining.
Another great comprehensive review. I liked the new intro music
Thank you for the first honest and complete review of this ive seen .
Hopefully they can let you test thw GR prius next year
Agree on the 80's tube socks. You should wear some! Haha!
You do awesome car reviews
I would totally watch your nature channel!
I'm a newbie to your channel, and want to say that all your time, effort, and smarts (pronounced Schmarts--right?) are appreciated. Editing in animations, special effects, etc, make for a very informative and entertaining time. Also, love your humor. Bummer those desert plants are pricks to you.
Happy Humpday Sarah!!!
Stay excellent!!😎
Wonderful review!!! Toyota has come a ways with their hybrids!
Been in hospital missed loads of content so bringing you
Great review!
I love the new Prius it looks so amazing
I like your review, your angle for the general population !
Beautiful car
Best car UA-camr and keep it up. Pleasing to watch and all about what the car is about. You show everything a car is and explain it your best. We are not looking for fancy ultra expensive vehicles. We are looking for functional and save us money and hope to last a long time.
Ive been waiting for you to review this 🙌
I had a Gen3 Prius and put > 110K miles on it without a single issue. Changed the oil regularly but that's it - never even had to change the brakes
My favorite car review channel. Supremely entertaining. Sarah is freaking awesome!
Thanks Sarah and algo's
Thank you for another dose of Sarahisms.
Thanks Sarah.✌️
Sarah is a smoke show🔥🔥. Plain and simple
YES! the spicy bean footage!
Great review as always Sarah, giving it the beans. Keep up the great content.
That is a beautiful car, totally different from the previous Prius models that I like for their economy and reliability, but this one is better in every aspect. If they only offered it all electric it would be fantastic ... at least here in Germany where we have plenty of charging stations all over the place.
Sarah, you are the Best ... Very well informed, extremely knowledgeable, very talented (mechanics, electronics and even the video editing), a disciplined workaholic, absolutely hilarious and really beautiful. That combo is simply unbeatable. Herzliche Grüße aus Deiner zweiten Heimat!
First Prius that I've wanted
😂😂😂😂"this is hard to explain" i laughed hard 😂😂😂
hello ppl reading comments love ya work Sarah
2:55 - The power-split device is notoriously hard to wrap your brain around, but it’s mechanically amazingly simple compared to any classical transmission: essentially just one single planetary-gear set. (All but 1st- and 2nd-generation Priuses add a further speed-compensation gear as well, but fundamentally, it’s just a single planetary-gear set.)
Once you do wrap your brain around it, it’s actually very straightforward! It’s essentially a differential with its inputs and outputs reversed:
A differential has one input and two outputs, and the rotation speed of the outputs average out to the speed of the input.
A power-split device has two inputs and one output, and the output’s rotation speed is the (weighted) average of the two inputs. One of the inputs is the engine and the other is MG1.
Very nice!! Appreciating the breakdown of the (non) CVT planetary gearset drivetrain.
Once again, Miss Sarah, an interesting review, and vid!
The humor - on point. Start a podcast. Talk about grass growing or dust landing on your desk. I will listen. 😅
You are freaking awesome Sarah. In every way.
If anything happened to my current car I would seriously consider getting a new Prius (not the Prime since I can't plug it in). Well that assumes I don't walk out the dealership laughing due to markups.
you have a lot of humor, very pleasant to watch
Great looking car, and at 500+ miles of range I think this is the right way to go to get more people into electrification. On a more serious note, a Sarah’s nature channel would be awesome 😂
The "Skynet" thingy looks like one of those devices that watch your eyes to see if you are falling asleep at the wheel.
I just test drove one of these over the weekend. I gotta say, it's the most intriguing Prius they've ever made. However, something caught my eye while I was there. A brand new model that replaced the Avalon. The Toyota Crown. It is a great looking car that has many SUV qualities. I ended up liking the Crown more than the Prius. But of course, they are two rather different vehicles. Great review, Sarah.
Don't ever change. You are my only hope that maybe my youngest nieces might be inspired by you and become gearheads.
My only disappointment you didn't use the Jetson's car sound effects during this vid.
Half expected Sarah to say "We're going to give it… a bean." at the beginning.
Thanks! Pricey but cool👍🏽
Best looking prius by a long shot, i have ordered one and will have it before the weekend. Cant wait. There is a hint of mk 3 Supra in the front. Keep up the great work Sarah, youre the best.
I'm not into high end Golf Carts, but I did see one on the road today- first time- and it's a nice looking little car. HUGE upgrade aesthetically for sure.
Love this video! Thanks for bringing a new perspective (or presentation?) to otherwise stuffy subject matter. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!
