You should be crimping wire connections for automotive applications, not soldering them. Crimp connections are stronger than solder (and the actual wire itself if done correctly), and solder becomes brittle and eventually breaks when subjected to repeated vibrations on the road.
Awesome Video, nice crisp speed and thorough explanation!! I've had problems with those red wire crimps, and only a little corrosion in them, makes them short, so I electrical tape mine to stay dry. Keep the great Video's coming!!!
Just be aware that it all depends where in the world you are located as this video would be deemed to be an illegal installation in lots of countries!! For instance in some jurisdictions as soon as you switch your main beam lights on (high or low) the DRL/s must switch off automatically!! The mere name of these lights (DRL/s) is duly representative of daylight running lamps & therefore they were not designed for night time use but only for daytime. Further DRL/s were not designed to throw light onto the roadway ahead as per normal lights but were designed to simply make your vehicle visibly stand out during daylight hours & hence their brightness but they don't throw light down the roadway & neither were they designed to do that!! With night time driving there is absolutely no need for DRL/s to be running as your main lights are already on & bright enough & if someone can't see you with ordinary headlights running they seriously need to think about getting a new set of eyes!! As it is most modern cars look like bloody stupid Xmas trees all lit up with their profusion of search lights protruding from them as though it was Xmas Eve!! Some good advice, check your local authority for the legal bylaw in your jurisdiction before proceeding to implement any installation on your vehicle as the rules differ dependant on where you are located!! Understandee de englishee????
Hey dude, you made a hell of a video my guy! thank you for sharing your talents and abilities. That was a very clean and well done video! I definitely subscribed because I’d like to see some more.! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Does the quick splice connector/adapter make this install permanent ? So would I be able to remove the quick splice connector/adapter along with the LED light bar in the future if I wanted to ?
+Imaad Thassim I might be able to, I'm pretty sure there are other videos out there for that but if I end up doing that on either of my cars I'll make a video
Why would you want a toggle switch for DRL/s as they are supposed to switch on automatically (via a current sensor) when you turn on your ignition. Likewise they should turn off automatically when the sensor detects that there is no longer current being used as in ignition being turned off!! Can I respectfully suggest that you read some background information on how DRL/s actually work & their whole design concept as they are not designed to throw light onto the roadway ahead of you as per normal nightime driving lights!! (yeah right) Hence their name description as being, DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS!! They never called them NIGHTIME RUNNING LIGHTS!! (understandee de englishee????)
+Shahanas Subair there's a good chance I'll be doing a video about interior LED lighting with a switch which will be the same basic process, I can't say when that'll be coming out though
Yeah that's what I think too, some people think it's boring to just listen to me talk, and I see where they're coming from so I'm trying to think of something
Nz law states that when your headlights are turned on the driving lamps must be off as they are not a part of factory headlights then when you turn headlights off driving lamps are allowed to be on weird huh
John Elway same with mine. The deal is the positive solder spot on the board grounds out on the metal frame. I caught it in time and opened up and put a lil hot glue over the solder points and they worked fine after that. Don't know why they just left them barebto ground out from manufacturer? But that's why your smoked and melted
Need DRLs? Get them here! (Affiliate links for which I may be compensated) amzn.to/3VvLhQV

You have a voice from a 1950's news broadcast
How does the double sided tape behave when the LED heats up, or when the car is pressure washed? Thanks!
+furulevi it's held up great so far! They're still on there good
@@CashedOutCars what about now? STill ok?
nice tutorial and explanation of the cable connections.
good video as usual
+BrendanPike001 Thanks!
Very good tutorial.
+5and 50 thank you
Its a DC system so you have + an -. Not hot and ground wire
could u do the same thing but put them on the fog lights / daytime running lights insted?
+Travis Pina wire them in to come on with existing fog lights or daytime running lights? Yes you should be able to
Mine wont switch off even with ignition and key off
Does the quick splice connector/adapter make this install permanent ? So would I be able to remove the quick splice connector/adapter along with the LED light bar in the future if I wanted to ?
Nice and clear! But I want my new lights to come on when the engine is on, not tied to head- or foglamps. Connect to what?
Thanks! Depends on the car, a switched 12v source that comes on when you turn the ignition on sounds like a great option for you
Thumbs up like always. Keep up the good videos man.
Thanks man! Let me know when you get the stickers!
+CashedOutCars Will do! thanks again man:)
would u be able to post a video of installing led light with a toggle switch? for example interior ones?
+Imaad Thassim I might be able to, I'm pretty sure there are other videos out there for that but if I end up doing that on either of my cars I'll make a video

that was nice
can u teach me how to add a separate switch for drl.
so that i can even turn off when i need
+Shahanas Subair there's a good chance I'll be doing a video about interior LED lighting with a switch which will be the same basic process, I can't say when that'll be coming out though
+CashedOutCars thank you so much
How to install LED light bars! What are your thoughts about using soft background music in future videos?
I personally wouldn't use background music of any form because you would struggle to hear what you are saying
Yeah that's what I think too, some people think it's boring to just listen to me talk, and I see where they're coming from so I'm trying to think of something
CashedOutCars hi I have a Mitsubishi. Lancer and I have some new led light I can't not install in my car Bcz cindont know how
Have they lost any brightness with use? I have these and mine have gotten very dim after 3 months of use. They also get very hot
Nz law states that when your headlights are turned on the driving lamps must be off as they are not a part of factory headlights then when you turn headlights off driving lamps are allowed to be on weird huh
Hey can you do a video on LED headlights
Nice video
Thanks!
can u do a vid on side mount plate?
+Assorted Compilations the license plate? I actually already have one on my channel
yes just saw it lol, oops.
Be careful. I bought some like these and they got over 150°F and melted the Plastic and the wires.
John Elway same with mine. The deal is the positive solder spot on the board grounds out on the metal frame. Are they legal to drive with at night
That'd depend on where you're from, I didn't have any issues in CT though
How can I wire them to go on when I start the car and go off when the motor is shut!! Have a 2015 Nissan Juke.
+Fred Quattrone if there is a light somewhere on the car that turns on when the motor turns on and off then the motor turns off splice into that
Thanks Ill try!!!
CashedOutCars their isn’t
CashedOutCars do these only work with transportation?....trying to hook it up to a 9v battery and it wont light up
Do you think this could work on my svx
Sadly the SVX is the only car that this will not work on... Of course it will work, you just have to find the right wire :)
So....these LED ligths can be jumped directly to any +/- bulb rigth????
Cool and easy installation.... Thanks Bro!!!
Nice video! Where did you pick up the LEDs?
+Jeffrey De Rosa Thanks! and I got them on Amazon for $6.50. Search car LEDs and they'll come up!
What part of CT you in? I'm having trouble finding any car community around me :/
+twiggymac North West CT. What about you? and I'm sure it's there, you just have to find it
southeast near the sub base. seems to be all military guys with jacked up trucks over here :/
Do I need to disconnect the battery ?
I’d recommend disconnecting it for any electrical project on your car, just to be safe
203 CONNECTICUT BABY!!!!
+GOON LoSo hell yeah! Local!
