Traxxas should really change to something like the strongest name in radio control, because they are always taking older RCs and making them better!
@@Rick776my Rusty is an absolute tank, even with a bigger motor and on 4S. Steel CVDs are a must though, wish they included them with this one.
@@Rick776 I've had my Rustler 4x4 VXL for over a year and have failed to break literally anything on it despite some serious punishment. When I got it I did a few suggested upgrades like the steel chassis bar and metal wheel hubs, etc. It's an absolute tank.

The price is actually worth it in the long run. With the upgrades I’ve done fixing this for the hoss, it is probably worth around $550

Looks like this is trying to be a Mini XRT to go along with the mini MAXX. It’s nice to see the Ultimate name making a comeback, I just hope it’s good!
I have my rustler 4x4 vxl and love it. This truck looks to be a great package out of the box with a lot of upgrades. I’ve done all the same upgrades already but in red and I have the led light kit on my truck. I think I’d like to get a set of those tires and some of the shocks as well!

I really wish traxxas would come out with some of there retro stuff the bandit rustler and stampede from the 90s again with the same platform those were seriously some of my favorite vehicals still are now but the colors were perfect and th body styles were awesome

Love the Rustler! It’s a hobby legend. Just a tried and true platform without a lot of nonsense and great durability. Plenty of hop up parts available if that’s your thing. Probably the only RC car I don’t worry about breaking because parts are everywhere and not expensive. I still have the original 2WD VXL Rustler. Been wanting the 4x4 version and this may be it.
I'm definitely NOT spending 530.00$ to buy it!!!...

I pretty much have this already everything on my rustler is the same just missing the sway bar
That was a quick stream but pretty dope, i saw some sway bars installed, as well as some kind of reinforcement for the front of the body. The new tires might be a good choice for hard packed tarrain, any chance all the parts on here will be compatible with the regular model?
Yes! Everything on this truck is compatible with the standard Rustler 4X4 VXL

I've broken something every run I love Traxxas but running to the hobby store daily is getting old mostly the c peice on the steering screw mounts are too thin
I just want the tires, already have the rest of the upgrades on my rustler 4x4.
Edit: Traxxas has the tires in 2 different colors in stock on their website, I just ordered a complete set. Can’t wait for them to get here.

Can’t go wrong w/either one. If you’re gonna do a lil more rough dirt stuff and big jumps go Maxx. If you’re more about speed, dirt drifting, gravel parking lots and some on-road. Rustler is a lil more stable at high speeds. Both can do everything though.
I'm waiting for a 6s Maxx or 8s( larger scale) UDR .

Ive had 2rustler 4x4 vxl they were fast to fast for the shorter wheelbase sent more time putting them back on its wheels ..im not putting traxxas down by any means i have a sledge, a maxx a slash ultimate a 2wd slash vxl with the 272 transmission 4 t.axx a 3.3 revo i had and sold many traxxas nd other brands i will stick up for traxxas when other ppl run there mouths i also have the k5blazer a 2021 bronco the 79 ford ranger high trai edition a 2 trx4 m crawlers and get this a nitro stampede 1st edition and a traxxas nitro hawk with the image .12 engine gold ch chassis oh and 2 nitro 4tec so i am a big supporter of traxxas and thats just the traxxas models i have 38 cars or trucks all together and thank you traxxas for keeping making nitro models you all need to make a big bĺock nitro model you do have a lot of ppl still into nitro

1 I hope the body is easier to take on and off 2 I hope you fixed the wheelie bar jamming into the body breaking it 3 car needs fans 4 you should have a chassis screen on it this rc collects to much stuff it should be standard.
Not bad at all...only thing i would have liked to see is the beefier splined half shafts from the heavy duty kit.
The price is actually not bad for what youre getting.
Aluminum knuckles and hubs.
Aluminum chassis brace.
Gtr colored anodized shocks w/titanium nitride coated shafts.
The 2075r servo is pretty good in a 1/10. Far better than the blue case plastic gear 2075.
The gravix tires on the xrt are awsome on road /lite offroad tires. They Should be great here too.
Just would have loved to see those metal or Hd splined half shafts.
Oh well, cant have a completly bullet proof rig. Traxxas and the hobby shops still need you to replace or upgrade a part or 4 every once in while to keep the lights on. 😆
Shafts from EHD kit don’t fit these alu carriers because of bigger bearings. But yeah, too bad they didn’t include steel CVDs with this one, that would make it a true Ultimate imo. Now we just need the regular 4x4 VXL updated to come with 9080 EHD kit.

As a rustler 4x4 vxl owner I’m wondering if there will be an upgrade kit to get it to this spec
Edit: don’t worry you can now buy kits from Traxxas such as the sway bar kit to make it better
the swaybar kit is pretty old so idk what you sayn here?
Are you using your Rusty on track or for bashing? This build is more track-suited, for a basher you probably want 9080 kit instead.
All of the upgrades on the Ultimate are available separately (Gravix tires will be available soon), but we don't currently have any plans to offer them as a complete kit.
Traxxas should switch it up and do something like the tyco fast traxx with tank treads thats quick! The company needs to stand out more
