Never mind the picture orientation, this is a mind boggling labour of love. I have lived and worked in Leamington all my life. It is quite evident the amount of work that Pete has put in to researching the town as it was back in the day. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful layout, but PLEASE film in landscape format. So difficult to watch and appreciate the workmanship like this.
Pete, that was fascinating! Loved the "behind the scenes" views too.
What a splendid system this is. The craftmanship here is of the highest order. Well done Mr W.!
Great to see an update on this tremendous project - I've missed catching up. I don't care what format you use, Pete; the brilliance of your modelling by you and the team of the whole scene of rolling stock and buildings shines through. I'd still like to show you how easy it is to clean wheels !
Thank you, Pete, for showing us around and for telling us what you intend to do on the layout. I bought a Black 5 off of eBay it is one of the models you endorsed, At least I hope it is. It is not in the right box. I cannot check it yet as it is at a friends house in the UK. I am trying to save enough money to send him so that all the things he has can be posted by land. Thank you Warley Model Railway Club for putting this all together. Martin. (Thailand)
Just brilliant. But have to say we need a full screen. It's like looking through the keyhole.
I've been following this layout for years is there any chance to have a camera on a loco going to all the different places. That would be a trip.
Thanks.
This is a brilliant layout! I thoroughly enjoyed the look behind the scenes and the standard of workmanship, everywhere, is simply amazing.
Like most everyone I found the portrait format frustrating , especially for such a brilliant t layout.
Modelling of the very highest quality. Used to do my spotting at Leamington and well
remember the chip shop; the car showroom was called Moss's Agencies, used to do the audit there in the early 70s, it was a bit scruffier in real life. A great amount of work done to the layout and it certainly shows!
Fantastic layout, great to see all the work done in lockdown. All the best 👍
Hi, Love this, Dear Pete It is essential that you carry on with this, because in a very short time those wonderfull kids that follow us will not be able to understand how the railways built modern Britain. Would love you to do a video on a subject that I know you are an expert. A detailed explanation of how several different regions ran their trains into Leamington and why you can experience many types of ex LMS LNWR SR & LNER Locos through this geographical situation. Well done much support!
Pete, love the new signal box
fantastic update..
Brilliant Video, very interesting indeed!
Marvellous
This is a very impressive layout.
Great stuff!
I wish this was filmed in landscape rather than portrait. When I view the video it looks like I'm only seeing a 1/3 of the picture.
I was looking forward to this but gave up watching due to the bizarre choice of using portrait mode. I couldn’t see any of the details he was taking about. Such a shame
Wow. What a superb model and a great layout. Is "we" the royal we, or is there a team (I presume there's a team!) working on this. Interesting idea (if I've got it right) to combine a permanent layout with an exhibition layout. Particularly love the modelling of the burnt section of embankment and all the blinds on the shops.
Looked great but couldn't watch after a few minutes due to the portrait mode
Nice to go behind the scenes a L Spa.
OK Pete, so precisely how many wagons do you now have on the layout - I'm assuming your TOPS computer can tell you!
Excellent! Stay safe.
Why video in portrait mode?. This would be so much better in landscape mode.
Like the other's respondees, skipped due to the silly, gimmicky, decision to phone film at 90 degrees off the conventional.
As said "wonderful layout" - but I gave up watching just one third of the screen - should do better.
Amazing layout... sadly this was terribly filmed. Did the layout such a disservice by being filmed vertically on a phone.
No people about?why?
What is the matter with people, please film your subject in landscape!!
i stopped watching after 3 minutes please post again in landscape
Your filming, such a shame, why use a vertical format? Not only that it's all out of focus, please do it again, properly?
the way is was filmed --just ruined the whole thing!
Oh dear what a rookie error - sorry had to give up watching what is probably a wonderful layout.
Oh Pete you silly sod. Turn the camera round next time :L
Great layout shame about the filming style. ☹☹☹
This is no way to video a model railway.
Yet another video of this much publicised subject. This would be a joke but for that fact that it destroyed the 'O' gauge model industry. I'm sure that future generations will refer to it as 'Waterman's Folly'. A spotleesly clean world where reality ends just above the treetops or halfway up the buildings. Where the sky is adorned with strange signs and the buildings hover 3" off the ground. Enjoy it while you may, Pete. What happens to it when you are gone?
Rediculous format
Why don´t you use a decent camera. This portrait format is frustrating !!! Thumb down, sorry!
