about a year ago i was in between 7900xt and 4070ti. it was a very big upgrade for me since i never had a high end system before. 1050ti was ok but vram was causing me issues in some games even with low settings. i could not justify the 12gb on the 4070ti at that price, and 4080 was out of my league. So i took the risk and tried amd for first time. nothing against amd, it just didnt happed for me to own one of their cards. amd is actually great but that is another topic ofr another video i quess.. anyway the perfomance for 1440p is amazing, i even havent had the need to use any upscaler, except from fortnite and that to get a reasonable fps count, even with raytrace enabled. Perfomance wise it is excellent but i was unfortunate to get an AIb card with slightly higher hotspot temperatures. while this being not a big deal for functionality or danger to throttle, it made my fans louder, and these fans on my model are loud indeed. so i had to chose between fan limit and high temperatures, or noise and reasonable temparatures. My problem is that i can not even consider to overclock or even mess with power limits since the fans will perform like a mini aircraft. I am very sensitive to noise to be honest and i was not aware to this. My motherboard has small coil whine but nothing annoying really and the irony is that my card has zero coil whine.. what is sure though is that i will never buy again from that aib partner and it would be bad from my side to blame amd or something, if you know what i mean. while noise and thermals are my main issues, there are also some features that are exclusive to nvidia that i would like to use. Perfomance wise i could be happy with 4070 super, but then again the 12gb are killing it for me. dont get me wrong by any means 12gb isnt bad, but if you gonna play a new game on a new card and there is not enough vram to play it for so much money(even at 1440p), reducing graphics sounds like a sad excuse to me. I remind you i've been gaming on low settings for more than 10 years, i dont have problem lowering settings, it is a matter of what you pay and what you get, while on the other hand the price with modern standards isnt bad either.. The other choice i consider is 4070ti super, i beleieve it can fulfill all my needs, but i am afraid that my country may not follow the 900eu price suggestion... so depending on price i think i may get one of these two. another reason i consider 4070s, beside the rather average vram capacity, is power draw and raw perfomance related to it, along with the more compact size and the way lower price obviously. to conclude i believe the best cards this generation for 1440p, are 4070tisuper and 7800xt for amd(based on todays prices). ibeleieve these cards will age very well, and for amd while having worse ray trace, and inferior upscale quality, isnt as bad as rdna 2, it is more than usable and along with fsr3 framegen for all games that is exclusive to rdna3 cards(along with antilag), they will get insane fps boost with very low latency..( these drivers are being tested, i suspect they may get realeased soon, and get properly advertised) one advice i can give is not to buy the cheapest models from non reputable brands, you may get surprised like i did.
I was planning to build a new desktop since i've been using laptops for years now and wanted to go 4K. I will definetly wait for RTX 4080 Super, plus I am waiting for all those jucy OLEDs to become available for sale. This would be my first 4K PC expirience.
Personally I would only do the TI as it has 16 gb vram and will Stay relevant way longer. the non Dlss benchmarks were not that impressive either. Less than a 2% percent power gain and time has shown us again and again that they lie out their ass with DLSS benchmarks. with a few tweeks people have gotten similar benchmarks with the 3090 with manually patching than the super is showing. personally i would save my money and wait for the 50 series.
I think supply is a big factor not enough people are talking about. Also, the FE card will start at $999 not the partner cards. Those might be 1100-1200 easily. So if supply is low these prices are likely to go up. So then now we are back at square one. Although Nvidia lowers their msrp, it won’t matter if the supply is low.
I just bought the standard 4070 because it was on sale. I knew they they were going to release the ti super and 4080 but they are super expensive. For £530 from Currys I wasn't complaining. Plus I had to also upgrade my 500w PSU to 850w. Huge difference from my old gtx 1050ti which is expected. I won't be changing for the next 7-10 years. And this is what GPU upgrades should be about. Not comparing yearly but comparing 3-5 years prior.
You would see a significant increase in performance. I suppose it just depends if you play older fps shooter games or story ones. Probably worth it for the fps sensitives ones. Also if you do go for it make sure you have a CPU that won't bottleneck the 4070 super.
i would assume the 20 series up are gonna play 1440p no sweat. i got a evga 1070 and love it and play 1440p good at over 60fps and even 4k ive played above 30fps. so how can 20,30,40 series be just a little little bit better. they have got to be superiorly better. like if u get 4090 and play 4k max settings and that gpu starts to lag and shit. then we are not up in tech with next gen future technology. thats why we buy these cards because they are so far ahead but by the looks of things they havent moved forward much. 192bus still? come on nvidia u cunts.
@@ThePalePatriotyou could probably get away with something like a 5700x with no bottlenecking but if you're willing to spend extra to be clear for a good few years then sure go for the x3d chip
Just sold my 3070, using old 970 and waiting for 4070 Ti Super. I game at 1440p and i have Ryzen 9 5900x and 64gb ddr4 3600Mhz ram. I think 4070 Ti Super is max my cpu can handle and maybe I will have slight bottleneck.
@IgorBozoki1989 Yeah I think you'll experience a bit of a bottleneck but at least you'll gain a bit more performance when you decide to upgrade the CPU as well later on.
No point in getting the super at this point just wait until the 50 series. And if they keep prices a bit more humane like they did with this refresh than more power to the gamers hopefully. Rommored we only heave one more year to wait for the 50 series
What are your thoughts on the new cards ?

lol u think ngreedyaass going to release a card better than previous gen??????lmao they going to charge u more foor an inferior card garanteed.
@22louki For the temps and noise you could try undervolting and using a program like MSI afterburner to limit the fan speeds :-)

This is true, however we'll just have to see how it goes and hopefully it pushes other prices to trend downward.

They call the 4080 “Super” but only has 16vram and 256 bit Memory Bus is a joke.
256 bit Bus width is fine, 16gb is enough for now but maybe not in a few years. We'll have to see
So being on a 2070 Super, wanting an upgrade to last me 3-4 years, is the 4070 Super worth the $600? I play 1440 and mostly older games tbh
