I loved Otaru, I went on Christmas 2019, it is a very beautiful city.
There I tasted the best ramen I ate in Japan, for now of course, I went to Japan 7 times, for Tokaiya ramen.
I hope that when the borders open, I will return to Hokkaido.
    greetings from Spain.

Thank you for getting that beautiful icecream even though it was freezing outside. And I am sorry you fell and hurt yourself. Hugs.. the things you do for us , the viewers.

I'm sorry to hear you slipped over, Shinichi! Ouchie. I fell sideways one time where there was a slope on the pavement [sidewalk] covered with black ice - landed right on my hip! That really hurt too.
Thank you for another wonderful premiere. I'm sorry I wasn't able to join in the chat, I was out dropping off books and other things for charity ahead of our house move.

I am impressed by Mother Nature and icicles, too, Shinichi! I think because I grew up in a warm climate-not as warm as Hawaii, though! And I’m extra careful in the snow because it feels dangerous like those 🥶 icicles!!! Also, I have the hardest time talking when I’m outside in cold weather. I blame a condition I got in 2014 called Bells Palsy. When it’s cold, it feels like my entire right side of my face freezes up and I suddenly can’t speak!! Ha! Anyhow, just two things in your video that seemed familiar to me. I am so glad I found your channel and I just love you and Satoshi and Justin!!! It’s been such a treat to learn about the Hokkaido region. Looking forward to Sapporo. Many thanks and happy travels!!

Oh no on Satoshi's knife cut. I always make it a point to bring simple first aid stuff with me whenever I travel (e.g. bandages, antibiotic, etc). Takes up nearly no bag space and a nice relief whenever minor injuries occur. The layout of Otaru seems a little more western to me, but not entirely sure why. Maybe the building design?

Yes! I was at a market last week where I usually buy 6/8 size frozen prawns - a 2 lb box used to go for $17.99. Now they're 2 lbs for $27.99! 😲

Otaru , is so picturesque I can't get over how beautiful Japan is all year round. Loved the fish market plenty of well stocked varieties . And all the famous pastry shops in the area looks delicious. I can't wait to visit Japan with my family some day ,I hope my Japanese language lessons pays off 😉.

I think the Shopping Mall connected to the Grand Park Otaru Hotel is larger. Nearly half a kilometre long. It has Daiso but no Don Quixote.

My mother wasn't able to watch the premiere live - she was being treated by an Energetic_Therapist.
Now, hours later, she can watch it all the more relaxed. And she really enjoys it. She really like the old houses very much.

And on your batteries, it's certainly the cold that causes the device to think that they are low on power. Just warm them up in your pocket or in your hands and they'll work again.
I used to use a 35mm camera that had auto-advance, and in the winter I would have to use 2 sets of batteries - 1 set in the camera, and a second set warming up in my pocket. I would swap them back and forth all day.

I could be wrong but perhaps a large battery bank connected with a cord to the go pro (you would need a special door for the USB C to go through as well) would work for longer streams. You would have a cord to the power bank to the go pro but may last longer if the battery bank was with you in the jacket pocket or something. I'm not a pro but maybe that could work?
Wonderful video and what a beautiful city!

If you love architecture, you HAVE to come to Chicago, Shinichi! Come when it's nice enough to take the architecture river boat tour downtown. Things change so fast here that it's different every time you come. And even if you do come in winter, we plow our streets and sidewalks better than Otaru seems to (mostly! 😂)

Satoshi always looks like he knows where he’s going, even in a strange town! My Dad was like that, because he always studied the places before we ventured out so he had a pretty good idea where to take his family. The only times he failed were when he was driving, he used to find ALL the dead ends! LOL! Consequently when I was four, he taught me to read the street directory so I could guide him. 😜👍🇦🇺 He would say, this is where we are and this is where we need to be, now you guide me, which I did. 👍😍

Great video guys of Otaru . Missed the Livestream today as I was working but watched
tonight . It’s relaxing watching you guys show us the towns historic buildings, markets and the Shotengais . Shinichi is a good narrator as you guys walk around describing in detail all the different points of interest. Despite so much heavy snow ❄️ it’s business as usual for the local people, i admire their resilience just to get on with their day. Arigato 👍🙏😀

Music Box store and The Snoopy store is a must-go-to. Was there last year visiting my grandfather, uncle and 2 aunts. Going there tomorrow. Girls want to play in the snow. This comes the day after we were on a beach in Pattaya, Thailand. Happy New Years

Thank you very much for taking us along with you visiting Otaru!
My wife and I visited Otaru in March 2015. As far as I can see in your video not many things have changed during the past 7 years.
Especially the fish market is still the same.
We enjoyed some very delicious fish bowls there and excellent sushi as well.
Hope we'll be able to visit again soon.
