    Great in depth video. I have this light and love it. Can you give us a breakdown on typical pricing for commercial and other projects.

      Thanks! Pricing/rates for services is a different ballgame entirely - might do a future video on that, but feel free to DM me separately to discuss.

    I have a 60x coming tomorrow-I will use it in a lantern and softbox, but my primary use will be focusing-a hair light is a must for interviews-being able to feather it off and barn door it-makes it a fresnel first, and multi-utility second.

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni Рік тому

      Congrats on the purchase! It's a great multi-purpose fixture for sure - the focusing ability really sets it apart from most of the other COB lights in its class.

    Small jobs you where you don't have space for a lot of gear the Amaran is a great option. You opened my eyes to the LS 60's, the build quality is in line with the larger LS models and it looks like something that will last. Wow 8:01 you sure do clean up nicely 🤣

      @andrewsaraceni Рік тому

      You gotta have "the look" (my standard gig outfit). 😀Yeah the Amaran's are definitely space savers - I could've easily used one for my studio/UA-cam - but I think the build quality differences with the LS's are worth it.

    Thanks for the review. Gives a lot to think. Would not say its typical for Aputure to ship with that kind of bag. Cheers!

    hi and thank you for a very nice video review
    have a question is the 60x light output strong enough for the Aputure Light Dome II?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni Рік тому

      No problem! Yes, I've used it with a Light Dome II (e.g. 9:31 for the interview examples), and it's powerful enough for softboxes of that size, at least in certain situations.

    If the light isnweather resistant, do we have to bag up portable batteries?

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni 5 місяців тому +1

      It actually is mostly weather resistant (the lamp head and power connector), you might benefit from a light plastic cover over the battery area though.

      Great question - I'll have a video covering the light stands I use coming soon (there's a few), but I'm using the Manfrotto 1004BAC probably the most at this point.

      @@andrewsaraceni Thank you! Just bought the Aputure LS 60x after I saw your video. But noticed that my Falcon Eyes 1900 lightstand is too light for it. Love the video!

      Not sure what you're asking, but there's a slot for where the battery could be mounted on one side of the yolk of the light.

    This light fell apart after a few uses. Ive owned three of their lights and two of them have had issues after only using them a bit. My Godox lights have been better in terms of reliability so I'll bit be buying this light again because their quality just isn't there for me.

    • @andrewsaraceni
      @andrewsaraceni 11 місяців тому

      Just curious, what were the issues you had and how did they fall apart? These have been probably the most robust fixtures I've purchased from Aputure, and I've been using them pretty heavily.

    • @PlayedWith
      @PlayedWith 11 місяців тому +1

      @andrewsaraceni With one, one of the cables just stopped working and had to spend 100 to replace it. My 60x adjustment screw just randomly fell out after maybe ten uses and it still looks brand new because I treat my gear with care. The screw will not go back in and now I can't use it, even though the light works great. I've had Godox lights for far longer with no issues. The build quality may not be as good, but they seem to last longer as they still work 100% after a couple years of use. I will likely never buy another Aputure COB light again.

      @@PlayedWith If it's still under warranty, I'd be curious if/what Aputure support could do to look at the unit and/or assist with some of that (e.g. send a new adjustment screw). Especially if it's the same light with all the issues, you might have had a bad unit/batch.
