- This video I will be showing you how to forge box jaw tongs. I'm forging these tongs so I can hold the nibs of tongs blanks better during there manufacture.
In the video I will give a step by step guide on how to forge a small set of box jaw tongs. I will cover the main point so of developing the jaws of the tongs and how they work.

Thanks, I learned something new.
Any time I see a blacksmith make tongs without using tongs it's going to get a like from me. Great video!
Thanks you.
Making a pair of tongs to make a tool you will use to make tongs. This is why blacksmiths are the king of all craftsmen!
Daniel, you are so informative
I don’t consider myself a blacksmith but maybe a greysmith? Lol. You’ve helped me quite a bit
I built these for 1-1/2” by 3/16”; and King Kong couldn’t have rested them away.
Wow those are awesome
I can never get sick of Tong videos. Really looking forward to your Hammer class soon
It's going to be good.
Thank you
Watching you pound away with your various sized hammers reminds me of how I used to be able to work like that (construction) when I was your age. Now, with various old cronic joint problems, I still like doing stuff and making things. That said, how about making geriatric tongs for us old geezers? It would be cool to see some lower impact approaches. Cheers.
Such a inspiration! Thanks man for keeping me going
Another nice job a work of art.
Quality craftsmanship Dan, brilliant.
Good to see you again sir. 61 day's till I get to shake your hand. Can't wait..

Very nice video thank you for sharing! I have not been subscribed for long but have enjoyed going back into your content archive. Keep up the good work! :-)
Speak slowly. Enunciate your words carefully. Otherwise it’s just blah blah blah.
I need a pair each of one and a half inch and 2 inch, both by one quarter inch thickness! Unfortunately, I'm mildly, physically disabled and don't have the strength to make them myself! WHERE do I go to get these from you???
I love your work!
Dan, you have to be able to temporarily attach that block to your power hammer, you'd then be able to use both hands and you wouldn't have to have help. What about ff welding that T section, you don't need larger stock then? As usual, enjoyed the vid - if I had the $2000 to fly out to the UK, then I'd take the course ASAP. Good luck with that, more than reasonably priced.👍🖖
Dan, Phil here is right. You made a "tapering tool" bottom die for kitty that sat in place; couldn't you do that style again?
Great vid. Any chance of doing an in depth vid on the side blast forge?
Or alternatively forge weld the cross member on the end of the nibs ? (for larger versions without having to go to much bigger stock)
or possibly upset the end
