Love the record function of this unit, otherwise wouldn’t have bought for radio.

The D batteries give the radio better sound as the amp and speaker are larger than what you would find using AAs. I would welcome this as the Ds would last longer. I have an Eton radio which uses AAs and is always using power to light up the display which is useless to me. Good demo...thanks. W3CRH.

I bought 2 of these today for gifts. $48.00 not bad. Very interesting the amount of people buying these and CB radios?

Looks like my CCrane CCRadio that's over 20 years old but still kicking, a few more modern features but mine is designed for DX reception because it has twin ferrite coils so I listen to 880 and 780 and 1120 most nights, especially when there are no major static crashes but for the price, its ok. I.just wish were more SW stations like I enjoyed back in the day. I'd even enjoy hearing some Radio Moscow.

You should discuss about the recording function which is why I am interested in the TR629.

Ugh, the non scanning knob tuning is a show stopper for me.

“Old school tuning method”. Love going through the shortwave dial slowly sometimes. This would be a killer for me also because it doesn’t scan slowly. “Flat earth radio” made me laugh. 8:55 I wish they would go back to regular batteries. 18650s and the flat phone batteries are just too expensive and they are too hard to find.

Dear friend, what about when you use the power cord: Do you get a slight hum on the case? And do you get a humming noise from the speaker when you listen at low volume? Because what is easily ignored during the day can become an impossible disturbance during the rest at night. - Thanks for the video.

I have tried the TR 629 with the power cord although I usually use batteries. I didn't notice any hum from the power cord and it did not appear to affect AM/SW reception either.

Hello, Ria, as I do agree with you that the Retekess TR629 has a nice sound! The radio receiver in the SW bands seems average. Thanks for the video showcasing the Retekess TR629. 73's, Ria...

If you haven't already done so you might want to check out the TECSUN PL-660.

Interesting I've seen this very radio on another channel and it showed the temperature in the upper right corner but I'm not seeing it on this one but I'm pretty sure it should have it somewhere
