Eric, your channel has turned me into a complete radio nut! I've gotten a small CB for my car and saving up for a base station CB -- I'm also in the market for a shortwave radio and a GMRS radio. I'm studying for my Ham test, to boot. I'm in southeast Kentucky so once I get the base station up and going I'm hoping to catch you on the airwaves one day! Just wanted to say thanks for turning a guy who had ZERO interest in technology into a radio enthusiast.
(Side note: What happened to the FF Theme with the "Breaker Breaker 1-9" at the top of the videos? Not that I don't like the new song, the old one was just fire!)
    73s to you!

Eric, please note that led lights put out RF interference. Also, any motorized equipment. I get a lot of RF interference from my a/c unit and refrigerator on my 10 meter ham radio. Take an AM radio and walk around to different equipment in your area. As you get close to something that is putting out the interference it will get louder. Just eliminate the stuff in your place. If you find something in your place, you could buy ferrite beads to put on the 120vac cords to help eliminate the interference.

I am going to try the ferrite coils on my equipment to see if I can lower my noise floor. Thanks for the advice!

🖐️🙂 Hi! The radio receivers won't work well from the mains, the mains gives strong interference, but from batteries it will work well! 👍

My dad had a radio that had the sw bands back in the 1950s. Used to be in bed picking up all kinds of stuff,,mostly interference I suppose but it was cool to listen in,,,will remember the brand someday,,,but not this day……

I still do that today- I love to just turn the dial to see what I can pick up- Some nights there is some really weird stuff, other nights not much

Just got this radio. only covers a handfull of stations on FM and one very distorted AM station.funny thing is i got a cheaper radio that can do a better job on catching signals. it''ll probably improve if i took this radio some place else.

Nice radio! I was wondering where that interference was coming from , I was thinking it was my computer or iphone charger hooked up to the vintage wiring of this old house. Bet you were listening to WKIX back in the day lol

It's a new signal coming from that tower up behind you on that hill. What kind of signal and if it will go away, I'm not sure of. Kind of a bummer though.

nice radio. wish it had a ext. DC in jack. great pick up. take that radio on battery tune to a frequency wear you get the noise interference and drive around and try to pin point where it is coming from. even power company's send low level low frequency RF down power lines to remote control sub stations. just a example . so trying to find the source is best wat to start solving the issue. even the rail road uses RF to control switching of tracks and signal lights and stuff. RF is all around us. some times hard to find source of interference.

It is a bummer when interference shows up. Thankfully, it's faded out now.

It really was. Thankfully it's gone now, but I think maybe some gov agency was doing some shady stuff around here at the monstrosity. I have a working theory that it was a cover for a rather large underground base they built under it.

You didn’t mention that this radio has a major design flaw; it resets every time you unplug it from the outlet, or whenever you remove the batteries! All your settings like time and alarm settings, backlight setting, and all saved stations in memory will be erased. So, every time you power it on again, you have to redo all the settings, which is annoying and very inconvenient. Plus, the batteries drain quickly because the clock stays on permanently even when the radio is off. You can’t remove the batteries to save their power because the settings will reset. I hope Retekess has a workaround for this, perhaps in a firmware upgrade?

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  3 місяці тому

Mine doesn't do that. Maybe yours is defective?

    • @froilanvillafuerte4107

When the radio has batteries or is plugged into a power outlet, the settings are not reset when turned off and on using the power switch.
The settings are only reset if:
      1. The radio is turned off via the power switch and unplugged from the outlet. When plugged in and turned on again, settings are all reset.
      2. The batteries are removed while the radio is off. When you put in the batteries and turned on again, settings are all reset.
Appreciate if you can also try the scenarios I mentioned and see if your radio will reset the settings.
      Thank you.

64Mhz только для Росии, в AM должен быть переключатель 10/9Khz шаг. Скажите звуковой диапазон сужается при плохом сигнале или передает полный звуковой спектр не зависимости от сигнала?

WHAT,,you're not going to climb to the top of the cell tower to see if it actually IS the problem?!?!? WHAT,,you didn't go down to the basement to check REAL "nuclear zombies are here" scenario reception?!?!? I bet you didn't even measure the springs that hold in the batteries to see if they will hold adequate pressure to keep good battery contact! Get it together man, what kind of review is this😅?
