Couple of things -- the scientist hanging out in the inaccessible room is not an institute scientist - YET. They need him to help with a very important project (which slips my mind at the moment) and send you to recruit him. I don't know if it was because I had done the automatron DLC, or because of some odd mod I had installed, but I was able to send some of the farming Handys out as provisioners. Lastly, when it comes to stairs at Greygarden (and Finch Farm) -- I find they work best if you start them from the top. Make a landing platform on the road deck, and take the stairs DOWN from that (even if you use stairs to get up in the first place). That way seems to work with the navmesh the best. I also use double stairs, that way settlers can keep going up and down even if someone stops to talk (or just stops for some reason). It's sometimes makes it tricky to get it landed where you'd like it to go, but they always seem to work well for me.
The car is the prize you can win from Supervisor Green if you play his game and pass all his speach checks asking for more money. Jokes on you if you win as you get a rusty p.o.s😂
that direction you said you havent seen attacked from, I have. it was a massacre as i tend to build my settlements as forts with walls around them and turrets everywhere.. it was a slaughter.
One thing I found is it appears that if you get lootables from the Graygarden residence garage before you talk to Supervisor White, the outside robots turn hostile and will come down to attack you.
@@Evilfairy04 I believe it is usable on ps4, I've been up there on both versions. Height isnt as restricted as map square. Use stairs and work way up or use broken part of roadway.

Anybody agree that the railroad tracks next to this settlement are WAY too steep for trains to safely use? 😅
I chalk that up to the land settling and the roadbed being eroded away in the last 200 years.😄

I may be wrong, but on PS4 I swear the build area is smaller than that, which is why I've never bothered building here
