    Pokemon should distribute a 6 iv ditto every year via internet and encourage breeding legit pokemon. And after that hackers shouldn't be given excuses..because everyone has an easy way to get good iv bred pokemon and there is no need to go for illegal methods.. unless they are stubborn or lazy to spend more time in the game ..

      Getting 5 ivs in the right stats is extremely annoying. I've bred 200+ pokemon "legitimately" and I'm tired of it. It's boring and repetitive and ultimately pointless since you can do it so much easier. I got a 6 iv ditto and a couple of friends with hacking devices and I'm able to update my teams much easier. People who are actually good tend not to care about breeding.

    • @thesagem

      Pokemon company makes the rules, we need to respect them, I don't know how many times he's had to iterate this, I'd be annoyed too if people kept saying it was legal. Listen, I don't care if you hack a mon to play with your friends, but don't bring them into a tournament/Use online play and expect to not be called out.

    Sadly, all VGC stands for nowadays is 'Very Good Cheaters'. Just a competition where people hack and bring their legendaries/megas and compete to see who hacked the best sets. This is why I'll never be impressed with any 'VGC battles'. I dream of a day where Pokemon devises a way to block any sort of Genning or hacking. Then I would like to see these same 'top VGC players' try to play.

    • @NUpokes
      @NUpokes 8 років тому

      Benz Quizon
      Kudos to you. If only more people were like you, VGC wouldn't be in the rigid standard form it is now. And not saying that the whole VGC style are all hackers, as there is still a small fraction of players who I'm sure legitimately obtain their pokemon teams.
      Lord Wallace Hacked pokemon will unfortunately always be available through transfer and pokebank unless they find a way to patch this up.. very unlikely. But in the scenario that it does happen, your VGC players that you idolize so much, the ones that hack... good luck even seeing them make it to the competition with any sort of team. Without their shiny 6IV megas and legendaries, you won't see the usual bunch of players anywhere on the ladders or scene. Don't mean to burst your fantasy.

    • @NUpokes
      @NUpokes 8 років тому

      Lord Wallace But it does make a difference on the game, hacked or not. IVs are super important in the game. Because good luck getting a perfect IV legendary.. or even getting the right IVs in place if you legitimately soft reset. So tell me, how does hacking a perfect competitive legendary like this, give 'ZERO advantage'??? Answer that.
      Without hacking, no doubt that the same VGC crowd would be much more diminutive. There's a certain popular poketuber out there that I've called him out on not even knowing what the IV Judge is! Do you think, said people like this, is going to be battling competitively, without the means of hacking a team, anytime soon? I'm not saying ALL the top VGC players are like this, but you have to realize that there is a good portion of people who may have the skills, but not the dedication to legitimately obtain a team, or constantly alter it to adjust strategies.
      When I say, 'I'll never be impressed with any VGC battles', I mean I won't be impressed with VGC players who show off their skills but have hacked in order to do so. Because that is the equivalent of being impressed by a bodybuilder who uses steroids and illegal enhancers!

    • @NUpokes
      @NUpokes 8 років тому

      Lord Wallace
      In response to 1 & 3- Zero advantage in the context of a battle.. should BOTH parties have perfect IV teams. But not the case in REALITY. Because in reality, a legitimate player will not have that perfect stats team. Such as, they will bring optimal stats on their legendary pokemon, but not perfect. And I understand it's up the competitors to meet the standards, but the reason why it will be a disadvantage- in reality, the player with legitimate team does not have perfect stats.
      Hacking isn't opening up accessibility and expanding competitive scene. If anything, it closes the doors and discourages players who play by the rules. It has gotten to the point where now, if you don't have the usual hacked team consisting of one Mega and several perfect legendaries, you're done. Remember a while back when Pachirisu was used in the finals? You'll never see this today. Hacking is part of the reason why all you see are the same VGC pokemon over and over on every team. Why train a regular cool pokemon when now you must hack a perfect legendary pokemon to play VGC? It creates a very rigid play standard.
      I can tell we will never come to an agreement, so we should just agree to disagree.

    Personally I like the fact that you don't use hacked Pokémon, I like the fact that you are proud of it. But I also think this witch hunt has got to stop, if the Pokémon are hacked but technically possible then sure, frown upon them but that's about it, the holier than thou part of this video about being a top VGC player and therefore having to use non-hacked Pokémon was just disappointing to me.

    • @Yamidoragon
      @Yamidoragon 8 років тому +3

      Why? Do you think it's acceptable for a high-esteem member of a community to take an advantage over the people who idolize him, not only sending the wrong message but instead of simply saying it was the last time, attempting to lie and counterattack again? I think shutting up and accepting is what is slowly rotting this world away, be it a political debate or a kid's game. To me it's incomprehensible how anyone could accept this....

    • @silveroon009
      @silveroon009 8 років тому +4

      +Yamidoragon because it's not like hacking necessarily breaks the game, if it is done to save on hours of breeding is not the same as doing it to create impossible stats, moves or abilities. An argument could be made about the Dream Ball but honestly it doesn't affect the competition. Tbh it's this kind of black and white binary thinking that is rotting the world away, trying to pass laziness to analyze specific cases to determine if it is wrong or right as a moral standpoint when it's really just an easy way to avoid thinking about what the actual issue is, because why bother when you can dismiss things automatically with no analysis or second thoughts whatsoever, right?

    • @Yamidoragon
      @Yamidoragon 8 років тому +4

      Santiago Echecopar Frisancho There is nothing to analyze. :D A person who does not hack and breeds every pokemon legitly will never have the array of pokemon so quickly at his/her disposal as a hacker who is one click away. You will never be able to adapt to a meta that will change faster than it should be able to anyways, giving you a strong competitive backlash. :D Apparently you know nothing of the subject you are talking about, otherwise you would be just as frustrated as every hardcore player with competitive ambitions who refrains from cheating :D It's as simple as that.

  • @y_strikes2770
    @y_strikes2770 8 років тому +34

    cheating is for lazy people just like in real life, I mean cheating or hacking pokes I don't think is that big a deal if it was a single player game or something (it'd just be like a mod) but you shouldn't be doing it for competitive battling to gain advantages against other players which is just unacceptable. I have about 6\7 pokemon with 5ivs that I bred myself like a charmander, ferrothorn, hydreigon, scizor, swampert and one of 2 more I can't think of and that's it because yeah it's work but if I cheat then the game becomes too easy and unrewarding tbh

      Getting legit competitive pokémon takes a ton of time, dedication and effort; It´s a long ass grind.
      You have to catch all kinds of Ditto with all the Natures and IV´ss you need, including stuff like 0 speed and 30 IV´s for when you breed for Hidden Power. Catching all the required Ditto alone can take days of work, and then you also have to check each one you caught (of approximately 2-300 or so individuals) for their IV´s using IV calcs. Then, if you´re anything like me, you codename the ones that you want to keep so that you know its nature, and what 31 and 30s it has.
      Then you need all the EV training items and the Destiny Knot, and THEN you can start to think about the actual breeding process.
      It is a struggle that not many players will find the dedication to overcome, which is why so many people go straight into hacking. But Gamefreak intends for you to have to work that hard if you want top tier Pokémon. If you want to be the very best, like no one ever was, you´re supposed to work for it.

      TheBanta:
      I´m sorry, it seems I misunderstood your initial question. I´m still not sure I know exactly what you were asking. Did you want to know what I meant by "those legit hatched mons will soon pay off"?
      By that, I meant that, from the looks of things, hacked mons and their spawn will no longer be usable in online tournaments, whereas my legit mons still will. Then, I´ll feel like my time and effort paid off; that´s what I meant.
      If, on the other hand, you were trying to ask whether legit mons, and the ways in which you obtain them, have any kind of advantage compared to their hacked counterparts, which is how I initially interpreted it, the answer is no, because their stats will be the same at best, and the legit ones take way longer to obtain.
      Beyond that, your last little ad hominem there was uncalled for, but I do in fact work full time, and live by myself. My Pokémon Alpha Sapphire copy tells me I have somewhere between 6-700 hours of playtime, and 2400 or so hatched eggs. Every Ditto and miscellaneous monster used in that process I caught single-handedly.
      Work is not an excuse to hack your game through external devices, or receive monsters from others who did so.
      If you can´t fit grinding anywhere in your schedule, you (should) have no business participating in competitive Pokémon - especially not official tournaments.
      That´s how I feel about it.

    So Verlis wants trading removed from game because
    1. It gives an unfair advantage in form of experience where players can go directly to practice battling instead of wasting time breeding.
    2. You can never know if the traded pokemon is hacked, or even related to hacking, so you can't use the pokemon for anything anyway.

What I get from it is, that if its nothing supiscous, with ball, stats (EV's IV's) or abilities there is no real way of telling if they are legit or not and that is currently my case. So I Will just have to battle on with my pokemons or only use Pokemons i can Catch my self from Pokemon Y or Alpha Saphire casue thast the only real way you can tell if they dont come from skilled hacked pokemons or their offspring.

      Pretty sure I'm banned from commenting, but by any minuscule chance you can read this Verlis: you're an intelligent person so you do know that calling him a cheater all the time because of using an impossible to obtain mon OUTSIDE of an official VGC tournament is kinda desperate for attention. You tried to cheat your way into fame by saying you went undefeated in a tourney too (private messages are ok to be shown in public) *wink wink*
      In your previous vids about cheating I said I agree that cheaters should be banned from competing for a period of time, Ray Rizzo with his impossible aegislash can be put in this category, not Wolfe. He didn't use it in an official tournament. period. Most people didn't even realize that he used an illegal mon, including him and you I believe. If he used it in an official tourney, then yes call him a cheater or whatever.
      Another point, you keep on saying he's lying, lying, lying. Lying about what? English is not my first language but I asked a lot of people and everyone agree that he's not lying. He talked about what he believed in, obtaining a "legal" mon by breeding an illegal parent. Is it allowed? Apparently not. Now you proved him wrong, why keep calling him a liar and a cheat? Desperate for attention? Now, what do you expect him to do? Make a vid just like you did earlier in your youtube career? Begging to Aaron Zheng to drop his vid about you? This is no longer about "keeping cheaters out of VGC" it's more of "Let's bring Wolfe Glick down for whatever reason".
      What you did was commendable, being a policeman of hacked mons/cheater in VGC but the way you're doing it is not intelligent man. The info you showed on this vid (TPCI's reply) is great to be shared with THE WHOLE community, and you can do it in a civil way. You don't have to drag someone down to have a big channel. Unless your main purpose of doing this is not for VGC, just for the money, then it's just a genius piece of business as a youtuber.
      Anyway, keep on doing a good job at youtube. And I really wanna see you do good at VGC too, without cheating of course ;)
      PS: timer stalling is 100% legal

    There is an implication here that I find a little unsettling. To suggest that a person cannot breed using a pokemon that they got using Wonder Trade for the possibility that it may be hacked is to suggest that a person can be disqualified from competitive play through no fault of their own, just for thinking to benefit from a feature that was implemented into the game.
    Personally, I think that hack checks should focus on what is obviously not normally possible to obtain. And yes, I think that a pokemon coming in a pokeball that it couldn't be obtained with does fit into that category. Such a pokemon can create a competitive advantage because it can influence prediction. A pokemon in a Cherish Ball, for example, may possibly have moves that only an event version of the pokemon could have.

Wether it's by action replay, powersave, or PKHex. Some play competitive while others don't. Most people have jobs, family, and friends that are more important than hours of breeding for the right natures ivs or even hidden powers. It's not worth the time to most individuals. Maybe if ivs didn't exist there would be less hackers idk. I'm tired of seeing bullshit videos like this of people complaining 24/7 basically like they are the rule enforcers. People will play how they want to play because they spent their money on a 3ds and a game cartridge. Leave this issue alone because it only creates more drama between people.

    I have a question. At official Pokemon Tournaments such as Worlds, does the Pokemon company have a system to check for hacked Pokemon, and pokemon bread from hacked parents? If this is the case, then wow, good for them, but it also brings up the case of people who received, lets say, a 6IV Ditto though trading and had no idea it was hacked, then wandered up to the Tournament only to be thrown out for using a Pokemon that were bread from this hacked Ditto? I have no idea what's going on between Verlisify and the other dude, and frankly don't pay much attention to the competitive scene, but it's just something on my mind.

    I dislike drama, but Verlisify's completely right.
    Hacking a Pokemon in, regardless of what you're using it for, whether it has stats that fit the natural equivalent or not, goes against the terms of service, therefore is illegal, even if it's used to breed a perfect Pokemon; that child's still as tainted as it's parents.

  • @sparky716
    @sparky716 8 років тому +1

    +Verlisify If I breed a pokemon that I got from a trade (I don't know if it is hacked or not) and then used the pokemon that hatched from the egg that would be illegal however since I didn't know if it was hacked then why would I be held responsible for something that was out of my control, what the pokemon company is saying is we ban you even if you got it through trade which defeats the purpose of the trade system because we know there are hacked pokemon and so do the company and yet despite all the community protests they refuse to do anything about it apart from ban the people who breed the illegal hacked/traded pokemon. They can ban you if they find 1 illegal/hacked pokemon on there which for filling a pokedex is stupid, but for battling is great. The GTS system people ask for event only pokemon which can't be traded so the pokemon company doesn't check the GTS system, if they do then they don't do anything about it which annoys the hell out of anyone.
    You say that people should know what a hacked pokemon is, the fact is that most people don't actually use databases unless they are specifically breeding for certain move sets, I only use it to find out which pokemon can be bread with certain moves and what pokemon I need for playing online, to say that it is the person's fault for not knowing how to spot a hacked pokemon is not alright especially since we all don't have your knowledge, I know if it is hacked through the moves but if someone did it right, and made sure that they followed all the proper procedures (e.g. randomized the iv's but made sure to have 3 iv's as 30-31, and legal moves that the pokemon can learn) then the person getting that pokemon on wondertrade or gts wouldn't know the difference then they can get banned by the company for something they know nothing about which is ignorance on the company's part.
    The game developers are saying that they are hackers and doing something that you can't do, well if they missed it in development then the people that find the bug should be congratulated because they discovered something that no-one else found especially not the developers, but they are not hackers they just go and find these flaws for fun (yes some do it for an edge on the competition). Most of the time it is done to prove it can be done. If someone designed a game with no flaws, eventually someone would find a flaw, take Halo speedrunning for example, you aren't hacking you are using your knowledge of the game's code, some would say it is exploiting the game but it isn't, in fact 343 have even named achievements after the people who speedrun because they are using mechanics built into the game, any game can be manipulated if you know the coding script, so for the pokemon company to say it is illegal is true but the hackers have proved it can be done and the just manipulate the code until they hack pokemon but the code for breeding them is legal and should not fall under scrutiny, pokemon itself can be considered illegal because you have to buy the games to obtain all the pokemon or trade with other people, I want a pokemon game with all the pokemon in it not just version exclusives. If the pokemon company valued other opnions then they would have a game where you can catch all pokemon and not have to trade unless you needed too.
    If the top vgc's players are saying they hack pokemon then why haven't the company banned them? Simple, they don't want to because then negative mouth of word would spread and pokemon would start losing sales. I don't like people who hack but when you have top vgc players admitted to using hacked pokemon and not getting banned then the terms of service are a joke and show that the company don't care what the pro's do only what the casual players do.

    Objectively, Verlis is correct. Modifying game data should not be tolerated, and professionally speaking Pokémon Company should enforce that. But objective reasoning isn't going to stop people from getting fed up with the RNG nightmare of obtaining perfect/near-perfect IV Pokémon with their correct natures and abilities, which is causing the problem in the first place. Condemn silly, minor things like Pokémon with illegal Pokéballs, fine. More major things like illegal stats/abilities/movesets, without question. But condemning people for being annoyed at the game design requiring them to monotonously ride their in-game bikes or soft-resetting for dozens of hours is just childish. I sincerely wish the main games would just do away with unmodifiable traits that affect gameplay. Changing IVs, Natures, and Abilities (including Hidden Abilities) would just eliminate all this dramatic nonsense from the community.

That is to say I use (or rather "used" as I'm now going to change) 6iv dittos to breed my comp pokes. I was told from PokemonShowdown that pokemon bred from hacked parents were legal as well, so I just assumed they were right, since they probably knew better than I did (again, average player, so I was just getting into the more competitive stuff). I agree that hacked mons with unattainable abilities or impossible stats should be banned, but I don't see any moral fallacies with having a hacked mon with legitimate properties for battling. Because the focus is on the battling. It doesn't put anyone at an unfair advantage to the contest of skill. Where as if this were say a breeding contest, or strongest wildest Pokémon caught contest, that would be an inexcusable place to use hacked mons, because the competition is directly related to the origins of said Pokémon. The origins of each trainers' Pokémon has nothing to do with how the Pokémon performs in battle, making the rule that there can be no legal hacked mons in these competitions a superfluous one at best. If 2 craftsman made the same piece of furniture, but 1 of them made all of the materials they used from scratch would you consider his finished work to be superior or more proper? No. Because it's not about how it came to be, it's about what the finished product is and how it functions.

    The biggest problem with outlawing breeding from hacked parents- Sometimes you're not going to know they're hacked. Say, you've traded for them over the GTS or you got them via Wondertrade. You can't tell, unless they've got an impossible move or ability or poke-ball. And then, you breed them (because you want to use that pokemon competitively) and then it's not legal, even though you had no idea.

    I want to ask a question about obtaining unobtainable Pokemon, if I were to use some device like an action replay to obtain the flute needed for the event of Arceus, but only hack the item but legally generate the RCs above spear pillar in Diamond pearl Platinum, would I be able to transfer that Arceus up without Nintendo having a problem or would they look at that as some danabol violation. Because the Pokemon is technically legitimately in the game. It's just the item to access it it is not. What's the situation there?

    Does anyone know how to stop a channel from showing up in my recommended? I am so sick of seeing this guy crying and whining about the dumbest things. I thought I could get over it and just enjoy the content, but nope. This guy is getting on my nerves and at least 3 of his videos are always in my recommended.

    I kinda take pride in spending hours breeding for the perfect pokemon I want. They're my babies that I turn into killing machines and I'm so proud the times I win with them. It's a lot of work, and yeah sometimes it's draining, but once you get that perfect pokemon you train from the ground up, it's the result of your hard work and dedication.

    Alright, so my 5 iv skarmory came from a 6 iv ditto parent...
    Now what?? Even if Nintendo claim offsprings coming from illegal parents are "illegal" so what? What can they do about it? Theres no way to tell the difference between an offspring that came from a "legitimate" or illegal parent. The Pokemon Company is just bluffing, they have no way to know the difference, What are they gonna do? Set a requirement for vgc participants that they need to literally show in the pc or pokebank where the original parent came from? So that they can participate? Yeah right.

    I feel people hack Pokemon so they don't have to devalue the game by doing tedious amounts of breeding for a team just for an event, and they probably have better things to do with their time. From that stand point, it's understandable why people would hack, but it still puts other players at a disadvantage. Well, I play Pokemon Showdown and I go by smogon's rules anyway, I don't play competitive in the games.

    Allright, thanks for clarifying the breeding stuff in this video... I'm still going to use that 1 Pókemon I bred using a hacked parent. Not breeding new ones with 6 IV hacked parents, though.

    Hey Verlis,
    I completely agree with you and I am very happy that The Pokemon Company have spoken out on this issue. I just wanted to ask something I feel may be asked. So if parent Pokemon is illegitimate due to being hacked in, all offspring are deemed illegitimate due to their parent being so. As you are probably aware, there are sites that distribute 6 IV Shiny dittos that people use to breed that are more than likely hacked. If the parent Pokemon wasn't hacked but was duplicated using either Powersaves (which I do not use or condone) or the Pokemon Bank method, are they still illegitimate. I think but getting a solid answer from Pokemon on this would finally settle the argument. Please note I am only referring to duplication.
    Lastly, as an ambassador of PokeTubers, it would be good to know, how do you breed your Pokemon in order to get 5/6i ivs? Did you go searching for dittos till you found a 5/6 iv ditto or another method. Once again, thank you for getting Pokemon to speak out on this issue and I hope in the future there will be a way to back trace Pokemon to see whether parent Pokemon were hacked in or not, or at least a way to prevent it for Sun and Moon.

    I used to be one I stopped all together playing pokemon because I felt ashamed later I restarted and went the legal way in game to reach a great team and I love the fact that I am changed from hacker to legitimate player all the work makes it 10x more rewarding

    And yet people won't care about it, because if you use a 6 IV ditto to breed, the pokemon will pass the 'legitimacytests' of the Pokemoncompany

    I don't understand why there are so many dislikes for this video, you might not like this guy Verlisify, BUT the point is clear, the Pokemon Company states in the rules for vgc play and online play that the use of external devices to obtain Pokemon or Items is not allowed, you cannot argue with that. Until the rules change his point stands.

    To the best of my knowledge, everything I use is legal by Game Freak's standards. I have received a few trades of Pokemon in certain balls that I did verify are legal, but I have no way of confirming if they were genned. The majority all originate from Pokemon found in my games or Pokemon hatched from other Pokemon found in my games.

  • @BenM714

    so they make a rule against something that 100% unable to be enforced. if the poke.on itself is hacked you can check for that but if it is bred from hacks without coding info on the parents no way to prove it, and even if they put in data on parents you could just breed down a few more generations past that point. and essentially at that poibt it's 100% legal so long as everything is legit obtainable in game, if you take two hacked 6iv pokemon and breed a 4 iv good hidden power one with all legit stats ball and moves in my opinion that's cool. my comparison would be like children of illegal immigrants in the us, parents aren't citizens but if the kid was born here they are.

    I think nintendo should make hacked mons physically unbreedable. Like, for example, if one of the parents is hacked it would not be able to breed even if the other mon is legal.
