  • How-I-did video replacing sparks plugs. The rear spark plugs seem to frustrate people so this may be useful. In the end the coil pack needed to be replaced, but plugs and wires were timely maintenance.

    Thx man. Im doing the deed right now actually. All 3, plugs, wires, and coil pack. I enjoyed the long form video. Your personality came thru on the video. You seem like a cool guy. Have a good day

    I would have tried to attack the back ones from underneath, if I had the tools to do so.

    Thanks for posting this video. Gave me confidence with the back ones. Other people waste time disassembling either the wiper cowl or the intake plenum which is really not needed.

    Hi! So what was it doing? While driving, I push on the gas after stopping and it takes time to rev up. When sitting, I'll push on the gas and when it gets up to 3 rpms the car starts shaking. Does this sound familiar? Spark plugs were changed, started running slightly better but about to move to the coil. Thanks!

      Rough growly idle and driving. I recall similar experience to yours.

    Do I turn the wrench towards the driver side or passenger side to get the spark plug out?

    • @samvore2963
      @samvore2963  3 роки тому +1

      Counter clockwise loosens them, the ratchet will have more space to move depending on the direction you point it.

      @@samvore2963 I'm standing on the passenger side of my van. Trying to change the plug in cylinder 1. Don't know if that helps.

      @@savannahparton9277 at the 6 minute mark I discovered the rear passenger side spark plugs are best removed with ratchet pointing to passenger side.

      @@savannahparton9277 also I had room to reach to that spot behind the engine from the drivers side. In the back point ratchet handle to passenger side, in front point handle toward drivers side. That’s what worked for me! Good luck!

      After the coil pack was replaced the van ran great. If it hadn't worked I would have moved on to a mechanic. Plugs, wires, coil pack fixed my issue.

      @@truthnlies8330 I was very disappointed when spark plugs didn't fix my rough running issue. And since the coil pack seemed easy and cheap compared to hourly mechanic rate for diagnosis, I took the chance. Win some lose some.

    Hey now do a front end allighnment on the thing with strings with a 16th inch toe inward. but I guess you put the jack stands under the a arms for suspension issues? Please it seems stone cold easy enough.👷

      I don't remember. Pre-gapped low or mid range quality from the auto parts store. I usually don't have a preference so I walk in and tell them what engine I have and choose the lowest cost.
