Hello Ben i am a focus mk 2 expert. If you have the Diesel you have the PSA engine its french. It is very Important that you have to fin out which Sump you have the sump was come out with a old and a new Version. If you got the old sump you have to changethem to the new Version its very important. If you drive with the old one everytime you can get a motor damage
I have a 2008 1.6 Zetec petrol and it is one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned and totally love it and prefer the look of it compared to the Mk3. I must say though I would rather have the 2 litre engine for that extra punch as it's a lovely engine and I had it in my previous two Mondeo's Mk1 and Mk2 and it was good. One thing worth mentioning here is that the centre armrest over the storage bin actually moves forward and very convenient for short people like myself. I only found this out after watching another UA-cam video which demonstrated it as the handbook doesn't appear to mention it. I was really pleased about this as I have to move my seat a bit closer to the steering wheel than most people. Great video by the way.
Thank you for your message :) My mums other half has a 1.6 zetec and it has also been very reliable. I never knew that the arm rest moved until I filmed the zetec :) I loved driving the zetec, it was such a good ride. It was a nicer all round car compared to the mk3, and much more refined than the fun mk1. I consider it the best of both worlds. :) cheers
Just bought a mk2.5 Focus in the run out Sport trim. Usually buy an old banger for a few hundred but with used prices being eye watering fancied something a little more conventional. Almost immaculate, one owner and a nice thing to drive. Was good to have the video to view before buying, thanks 👍
Thank you for your message. I did film my mums partners 1.6. They seem such a great buy. I am trying to find one in Russia now, for a friend, but its difficult to find a nice one for under £5000.
Wow, I'm not really a Ford Focus fan, but this one is lovely. Thanks for changing my opinion on modern fords. This is nicer than the mk3 I had to rent. Take care.
Thanks for commenting, it means a lot. I'm not a big Focus fan either but this certainly changed mine too, it has a lot more kit than my 1series. Take care

This is my first Ford since my MK 3 Cortina 🙈. Well, considering how expensive fuel was when I was there, most are either 1.6 or 1.8 if they're petrol-fuelled. Back in 2009, I remember a litre was £1.20 of 95 RON.
I live in the UK, I own a titanium 1.8 duratec petrol in Avalon blue, unfortunately doesn't have as many of the neat optional extras that I wanted (DAB radio, heated seats, keyless entry, mines a fairly simple titanium). My neighbour has the titanium 2.0l but he has a TDCi. I can't say I've seen many 2.0l petrol and I worked as mechanic in a Ford Dealer. Also, the 1.8 duratec petrol and the 2.0l duratec petrol are Mazda engines. Fuel wise I get 29mpg in city driving as I don't do much motorway travel or long distance journeys. I also remember when fuel was cheaper. My local TOTAL fuel station did 99.99p per litre back in 2009. That's now a BP station selling at 126.99p a litre
Surprised with how popular this video is getting, my brother wants to know what car he should get next. What would you get and why. He likes this kind of size car.
The Mark III Focus is a lot smaller in the back seat than the Mark II or 2.5. It's also had its fair share of transmission problems, since Ford of North America thought customers should be the testing guinea pigs for the transmission. Currently my car is on its fourth clutch pack and now sometimes has difficulty engaging reverse.
southeastern failways hey :) it all depends on what you want from a car :) for my brother the focus was ideal for his first car. It was cheap to run and to be honest he doesn’t really drive it enough to worry about fuel, but my mums other half has the smaller 1.6 version (also on this channel) and it was pretty good on fuel. The focus for me was very easy to drive, but it was pretty fun as well. It’s easy to park, it has enough room in the back for your friends and luggage. It’s also a car that doesn’t really age, and I preferred it to the later version. The focus is a better car than its French rivals (which I advice against) , its much better than the Astra (also made a video on that). I don’t know what you think about skodas, but I think they are great, and are basically very similar to the vws :)
The 1.6 petrol is a great reliable car. My friend and I have been looking for one in Moscow, for another friend. We found a 2006 focus estate for about £5000 ( cars are very exspensive compared to the Uk) hopefully that will last many years. It will appear on my channel soon. Cheers
The 1.4,1.6 have belt (and 1.0 ecoboost), the 1.8 and 2.0 are mazda designed chain cam. The Peugeot designed diesels all have belt. They all have dual mass fly wheels apart from 1.4 and most 1.6 I think.
I owned 1 here in Philippines 2012 ford focus 2.0 TDCI S and its like a rocket when you accelerate and runs 23km/L of diesel..love this car..cheers mate!!!
Thanks dude. She has a few dents from Car parks but she's really been loved. It has every receipt for every little part ever bought. Been serviced at the recommended intervals etc. It's mint.
Adam Walker it’s great to here when people love and take care of there cars. Oh, just remembered I’m half way through editing another focus in depth tour. My mums partner has a 2010 zetec facelift. It’s not as tidy as my brothers titanium but it was less than half the price. :)

Hey, it’s very exciting buying a new car. Good luck knocking the price down. My brother loved his petrol 2 litre, no idea what he will get next. Keep me updated with the purchase and experience. Have fun :)
Cheers bro, I do speak when I film lol, hence why I keep making mistakes because I'm focusing on the camera. Or do you mean speaking ON camera as in seeing me. Haha. I'll try and do it when I can get a quiet place. Hope your good
Thank you for the in-detailed video. I would like to ask, how to distinguish different trim levels (Titanium vs Zetec) of Ford Focus MK2 by looking at the interior
Thank you for your kind comment. There is another focus on my channel which belongs to a family member. I shall write down what each version got soon :) take care
Tom Jardine Hello Tom, he’s had it a few years now and it has been very reliable. It’s only needed the usual service stuff like tyres brakes fluids etc. My mums partner has the 1.6 version (in another video of mine) and that has also been very reliable with double (maybe triple) the mileage.
Hey :) I was asking my friend who also owns a mk2.5 focus. He said he doesn't think you can remove that little orange piece of plastic, unless you cut open the unit and alter it. So I guess the whole unit will Need changing :) good luck :)
Thank you for the comment. :) I really do like the style of the European Focus too. I have no idea why they can’t share the same style across the countries, especially when they share the same name :) Off topic, I was going to rent a Ford Fusion in Cyprus (I didn’t know what they were back then and there was no picture of car). I thought the deal was a bargain when I found a photo of a Ford Fusion (in America) When I looked on Wiki, I realised the Fusion in the USA is what we call the Ford Mondeo. In Europe the Fusion is a very ugly and basic Hatchback. So you do also get nice models too :) One thing that has confused me though is, being a BMW fan, I love the M5. It was never sold in the UK with a manual Gearbox (we love manual cars here). But, in the USA, there are manual versions!! I thought America was the land of Automatics who don’t like manuals. Take care :)
Lol, hey :) if you have push button start, your 12v power socket should be under the center arm rest. There is also a USB and Aux port inside. Go to 13:48 and you should see it :).

1.6 is a reliable option but be careful with the injectors seals they tend to leak, the sump is badly engineered so and the air intake tends to get really dirty, also clean your egr valve regularly
Can’t believe you forgot to showcase the most important things! The 2 cup holder in the front and the pull down arm rest in the back seat with another 2 extra cup holders! Disappointed! lol
Hey. I'm sorry that I'm slow to reply. The unit in this one is supposed to be one of the better units in this model. It's a Sony stereo and my brother is more than happy with the sound quality., my brother loves his music. The sound quality is better than the unit I have in my newer 1 series.
User826 hey mate. The mk2 in general would be a great first car, thou get some quotes online (across the engine range) This one is the bigger 2.0 lump which costs my brother 400 a year at the moment, but he is 30 now, looking for upgrade to a e350 droptop. But his first car was a mk1 focus 1.8 3 door, which he loved. Both mk 1 and 2 Ford Focus are very nice to drive, easy to park, cheap to maintain in my opinion (and it's quite easy to do DIY on, compared to other brands) It also looks the part especially in this trim. I would also recommend getting quotes on cars which you think would be exspensive to insure, the reason I say this is because.... When I was 15 (17 years ago) I bought a 85 318i which for me was perfect. I also had access to a mk3 fiesta 1.1L. The quotes I got on the BMW and the fiesta were about the same, so while my friends were rolling up in old Novas etc, I had my dream car. When I was 18 I upgraded to a E30 325i touring and it went down from £1000 down to 550 :).
simple Troll Hey Simple Troll, good point, you're correct, though you can probably connect your phone to the aux port and have the navigation on your phone, play through the speakers. Well that's what I do on my BMW. The problem with some navigation systems that are built in are, they go out of date, unless your car is connected too the internet. Thanks for your comment.
That's now a BP station selling at 126.99p a litre
they are indeed. they had a healthy 150bhp if i recall correctly. Much more exciting than the 100-115bhp 1.6 petrol models that currently roll about.
Mine is a 2.0 duratec ghia estate focus Mk2.
The 2.0 is actually more economical on fuel than the 1.8 on paper anyway.😎👍
Very good report Matt.... I bought my mk1 Focus from AC Cars too....
tonyt thanks for the nice message :) my brother seems to be very happy with that garage. :)
Surprised with how popular this video is getting, my brother wants to know what car he should get next. What would you get and why. He likes this kind of size car.
Golf Mark VII
The Mark III Focus is a lot smaller in the back seat than the Mark II or 2.5. It's also had its fair share of transmission problems, since Ford of North America thought customers should be the testing guinea pigs for the transmission. Currently my car is on its fourth clutch pack and now sometimes has difficulty engaging reverse.
Hey. Was wondering if the focus mk2 would be a perfect starter car? Should i get it or should I get something else?
southeastern failways hey :) it all depends on what you want from a car :) for my brother the focus was ideal for his first car.
I don’t know what you think about skodas, but I think they are great, and are basically very similar to the vws :)
southeastern failways what other cars are you considering
@@mattsbeamer a car that has cheap insurance
I like 1.6 petrol that would be nice for the family
The 1.6 petrol is a great reliable car. My friend and I have been looking for one in Moscow, for another friend. We found a 2006 focus estate for about £5000 ( cars are very exspensive compared to the Uk) hopefully that will last many years. It will appear on my channel soon. Cheers
I just bought a 2011 TDCI Trend X, thoughts?
I have been filming a mk2 Ford Focus Ghia, if anyone is interested :)
Can you make a video test driving it
I wish I could. My brother sold the car a few months ago. If I can drive another I will do a test drive. :)
Any idea which engines of Ford Focus have cambelt and which have cam chain?
The 1.4,1.6 have belt (and 1.0 ecoboost), the 1.8 and 2.0 are mazda designed chain cam. The Peugeot designed diesels all have belt. They all have dual mass fly wheels apart from 1.4 and most 1.6 I think.
I owned 1 here in Philippines 2012 ford focus 2.0 TDCI S and its like a rocket when you accelerate and runs 23km/L of diesel..love this car..cheers mate!!!
Jolly good video
Feel The Pain !!! Cheers man!
so good in white.
Adam Walker thank you. I agree :) looks better in the sun after a polish.
I remember when white cars were frowned upon :lol. Have a good day.
Adam Walker I love red cars :) my dream is to have a classic bmw 8 series in brilliant red, preferable an alpina :)
Adam Walker she looks very nice Man. Very clean!!
Hi mate I’m going to look at one tommorow it’s a 10 plate identical to this but grey on 112k he wants £2000 for it hopefully I can knock him down abit wish me luck ( I don’t expect a reply just realised you made this 6 years ago)🤣oh it’s the 2 litre titanium too diesal
Hey, it’s very exciting buying a new car. Good luck knocking the price down. My brother loved his petrol 2 litre, no idea what he will get next. Keep me updated with the purchase and experience. Have fun :)
Wow more and more ! I think it may be better when you speak when you film

Thank you mattsbeamer.
How reliable as this Focus been ?
Tom Jardine Hello Tom, he’s had it a few years now and it has been very reliable. It’s only needed the usual service stuff like tyres brakes fluids etc. My mums partner has the 1.6 version (in another video of mine) and that has also been very reliable with double (maybe triple) the mileage.
dear friend, can you tell me how to remove this amber acrylic from the headlamp arrow?
Hey :) I was asking my friend who also owns a mk2.5 focus. He said he doesn't think you can remove that little orange piece of plastic, unless you cut open the unit and alter it. So I guess the whole unit will
Need changing :) good luck :)
Tomorrows video will be a quick style video of the new xc90. It's beautiful
I need a fairly used one
That focus is seriously awesome , I have a 2008 and 2010 Ford Focus SeS north America models and they look really plain compared to this one.
Thank you for the comment. :) I really do like the style of the European Focus too. I have no idea why they can’t share the same style across the countries, especially when they share the same name :)
Off topic, I was going to rent a Ford Fusion in Cyprus (I didn’t know what they were back then and there was no picture of car). I thought the deal was a bargain when I found a photo of a Ford Fusion (in America) When I looked on Wiki, I realised the Fusion in the USA is what we call the Ford Mondeo. In Europe the Fusion is a very ugly and basic Hatchback. So you do also get nice models too :)
One thing that has confused me though is, being a BMW fan, I love the M5. It was never sold in the UK with a manual Gearbox (we love manual cars here). But, in the USA, there are manual versions!! I thought America was the land of Automatics who don’t like manuals. Take care :)
@@mattsbeamer i heard that they had a money shortage at that time
Does this car have a cigarette lighter? I’ve bought some usb ports that go in the port but I haven’t seen one yet 😅
Lol, hey :) if you have push button start, your 12v power socket should be under the center arm rest. There is also a USB and Aux port inside. Go to 13:48 and you should see it :).
Is there an auto you can get in this model? Pls let me know
Hey, yes you can, there is a black one, on the Uk autotrader with the same wheels and 66k on the clock. :)
@@mattsbeamer please reply back with a link

I'm about to buy a 2011 1.6 tdi desiel done 95,000 dose anyone on here recommend this?
1.6 is a reliable option but be careful with the injectors seals they tend to leak, the sump is badly engineered so and the air intake tends to get really dirty, also clean your egr valve regularly
Can’t believe you forgot to showcase the most important things! The 2 cup holder in the front and the pull down arm rest in the back seat with another 2 extra cup holders! Disappointed! lol
Lol, jumped into this car after a few years and I’m thinking, how on earth did I miss them all. Oops lol cheers
I'm pretty sure someone stole your video. UA-cam: Vehicle Showroom
Master Chef thank you for letting me know. I’m glad I stick mattsbeamer in the corner lol :)
How does the audio sound in this car?
Hey. I'm sorry that I'm slow to reply. The unit in this one is supposed to be one of the better units in this model. It's a Sony stereo and my brother is more than happy with the sound quality., my brother loves his music. The sound quality is better than the unit I have in my newer 1 series.
mattsbeamer alright. Thanks for your reply!
Thanks for the question, any other questions just ask. Take care
mattsbeamer Would you recommend this as a first car btw?
Suprising it doesn’t have a reversing camera?
It would have been nice, especially with the dark tints. It’s a pain to reverse at times lol
Weirdly my 2010 ford mondeo zetec auto has a very similar spec to yours
I bet she is a beautiful car! I love the Mondeo.
@@mattsbeamer needed a battery change and new tyre sensors though but so far its a good car
Looks like my zetec Ford focus
Do you love it sir..do you
Feel The Pain !!! I'm quite fond of my brothers car, ya :)
I have a 2 L Titanium Diesel Auto I like your brothers valve caps
6:40 does everything that you need... HOW ABOUT NAVIGATION ? This review is for 3 4 year old kids
simple Troll Hey Simple Troll, good point, you're correct, though you can probably connect your phone to the aux port and have the navigation on your phone, play through the speakers. Well that's what I do on my BMW. The problem with some navigation systems that are built in are, they go out of date, unless your car is connected too the internet.
Thanks for your comment. Have a good day.
mattsbeamer You can still update it from dvd or sdcard no need to have internet. I dont like using gps on the phone... If you recieve a call bye gps... Have a nice day
Place to hang your suit up …… that will then get stuck in the door when you close it
Rare to see a focus with a four spoke steering wheel
I had no idea. Apparently the guy said that the colour is quite special for this car too. Well the sales guy told my brother :) it feels much nicer than the basic one on my channel :)
mattsbeamer its normaly the mondeos that have four spoke stearing wheels
roblox fan thank you, it doesn’t matter how much I research stuff, I learn more from people like you. Cheers. :)
bize bos hep focuslar geldi
Great car, I have also ford focus 2010 but with 1.6tdci engine with 110ps Titanium (little bit less equipment). Nice video, I was knew 90% what you said, but you can extend arm rest :). Why you can not close the door mirrors? This is my postimg.org/image/z9g8w48mr/
Josip Matić hey buddy, just looked at your focus. Great car. Nice colour. I can see why you and my brother are happy with them. I didn't realize about the arm rest :) same with my 1 series, i always forget to check them :)
I don't think my brothers car has folding mirrors, it certainly would of been a cool option.
Thanks for the message, take care :)
interior very dated for these days
I don't think they are too bad when they have all the gadgets etc. I think it looks more modern compared to Astra H. What do you think? :) cheers for the comment.
So it's not your car
Not my car, it used to be my younger brothers. Sold it just before covid :)
For a so called "top of the range" titanium, im not impressed at a the level and "quality" of the material used in the interior.
