- In this video I look at how to create and load folders for all your synth and kit presets. If you want to get hold of a copy of the contents of my SD car from my Deluge then support me on Patreon - Tier 2 or above - link and details below. It is a pretty large file due to all the samples etc in there - alomst 10GB of stuff so beware when you download! You have been warned!!
If you would like to support the channel and keep it going please consider supporting me on Patreon. By doing this you will get access to exclusive content not available anywhere else such as synth patches for a variety of hardware and software synths, exclusive free access to my music, lesson notes, sample, loops and much more - / rezzonator

Thankyou searched ages to find out how to load synth folders
Oh man, thank you! I spent 10 minutes trying to find this in the manual but couldn't..
Thank you so much for this. Been using the Deluge for a while now, and had no idea how to load in a synth or kit without endlessly scrolling. Made it very hard for live looping performance based stuff. Total game changer especially with the new OLED screen.
I also went through and named all of mine using the table in the manual and a bunch of spreadsheet and script hackery. I even wrote a few scripts around managing kits and synths both proper and multisample. Once I get around to it I'll figure out wavetables and add them as well.
I wish it was a real folder browser. Having to load them in like that is painful. Even better it would be really cool if we could have a startup XML file that could script these sort of things on startup or SD insert.
Thank you! Just what I was looking for.
Nice. I was excited for folders, but haven't used them much after beta testing, but I should really start getting more organized
I have two machines now, one with OLED & one which is in the queue. I discovered that the firmware version is written into the xml files, & that the latest OLED firmware explicitly states a "minimum fw version supported" in the songs & synths & whatnot made on the OLED machine.
if I edit this part of the xml so that it matches the same line created on the non-OLED machine (which is on the latest non-OLED fw itself), then the songs & things all load happily.
I think this must be an oversight by the devs, because there are no other backwards-compatibility that I can find.
headed over to your patreon now- your work is much appreciated.
Many thanks. Much appreciated
THANKYOU,I needed a folders tutorial
Great, thanks for this
Thank you for this video
I don't categorise by lead, bass, pad, fx etc because a lead for instance can become a pad by putting in poly and using attack/decay. Or a pad a bass by making mono and changing octave.
My main saving of presets are my own multi sample sets.
hey friend could you tell me how to save a synth or kit to an already existing folder?
Did you find out how ?
Thanks for the vid- really helpful:) Curious to know if you “collected” all of your existing tracks first, and / or whether you used Deluge Commander to relocate your xml files without destroying the links to your songs?:)
No. Didn't do the collect thing. Not actually checked if the links to the songs have been affected by putting them in folders. I'll check and let you know if there is any problems in that department.
Just had a quick check. As far as I can tell ousting the presets in folders has not effected the links. Obviously any renaming done outside the song will have an effect I think. For example if you change the names on a PC.
@@rezzonator so to do the renaming you went into each song and renamed sounds from there to keep the links?
That would be the best way to do it to keep the links. I didn't actually have many songs with links to worry about on this SD card so I just did all the renaming on my laptop.
My understanding is a song saves the synth so even if you rename a synth the version saved in the song is the old one. As long as you don't rename sample files
Thanks for this! So you have some presets duplicated in more than one folder? I would think that might cause issue’s somehow down the road? cheers
Not sure. Guess time will tell. Suppose as you can only have 1 folder open at a time it may not be an issue but we will see.
@@rezzonatorso, what did time tell ?
Not come across any issues so far.
@@rezzonator good to know !
Can I ask what overlay you have please?
Hi. It's made by a company called mxpand....www.mxpand.com/en/instrument-overlays/deluge-complete/
How many gb is this?
My SD card is a 32gb card. Think I've used around 10gb of it.
