My relationship ended suddenly 3 weeks before our wedding. I was in bits and didn’t really have the time to take a breath before having to cancel everything. The worst was having to pick up my dress, which I did on my own because having anyone else there would have been awful. I also had to deal with the actual day which was meant to be at a family party in my parents back yard. The party still happened and I was there. Not going to lie - it was awful. Fast forward 12 years and I am happily married and have been for 7 years. Thank you for this video. No one talks about these things and yet they are far more common that people realise.

This was a video I didn’t know I needed. My relationship of two years ended unexpectedly a week ago, and I truly thought he was the love of my life. We had a very positive relationship, then it ended when he felt he needed to be alone for a while. I’ve been afraid to come to grips with the breakup and worry about finding that happiness again. This video made me feel even just a little bit more hopeful ❤️
Kara Condie the same thing happened to me just before Christmas, now sixth months on I can see that time has started to heal those wounds. I can truly envision my self moving on from what I thought was the best thing I was ever going to get, to a whole new chapter in my life. I’m planning my next adventure, and hopefully someday soon you will too x
I so, so value you speaking out about this. Last year, I was due to move back to Australia (I'm from the UK, but had lived there before) to be with my partner; we'd found our dream house and I was desperate for marriage and babies. He broke up with me a month before I was due to fly back and a week before my birthday. I'd love to say that my life is markedly better now, but I'm still doing a lot of mending and repair work on myself. Still, "The right one won't pass you by", as a good friend once told me.
I booked my wedding 💒 and then found out I was pregnant 2 weeks later and our relationship broken down when my son was 3 months old I was heartbroken.. 4 years later I'm in a happy relationship of 2 years and it was the best decision of my life and 10x happier xx

This video has come at such a good time for people who are having to cancel/postpone weddings due to covid too. Albeit without the break up side of things.

You always make such helpful videos and you're always thinking of ways you can use your experience to provide guidance and support to others. Its so nice. I found your frankness to be very relatable at the time and my heart broke for you. I'm so encouraged to see how content you are now and how you're able to put your past to good use. Although - maybe I'm oblivious and this is a common thing but I was a little perplexed at the venue offering to transfer your deposit to a new date. That to me seems very tasteless and insensitive. Obviously you'd have imagined your day there with a specific person and settled on it together, so will have that association. How is it appropriate to offer that to a former bride to be who is processing a breakup? I still haven't completely found peace after a 3 year relationship that I thought was "it". You gave me hope for the future and I'm sure that applies to a lot of people who have struggled with similar periods of grief, then found solace here. X
I know some of your advices by heart and healing after a narcissistic abuse during lockdown I often repeat your words and believe things are gonna get better. Thanks :)

Last year I did the same.
After I watched this video something inside get the point that I was heartbroken too, after my decision. The breakup was the totally right thing. But I struggelt with guilt and I felt so badly guilty for breaking up, leaving my Ex behind....But now I realize: it broke my heart too.... Even thoug I was the one who initiated the breakup.

Thank you so much. My wedding isn't cancelled but is postponed now until next year ... I've had ups and downs about this and though I know it'll happen I am still sad that it won't happen in less than a month's time ... This has really helped Xxx
Awwww we had the same experience. I was also engaged but I didn't push through with the wedding and I am happy with my decision but it was a very hard decision though. I feel you.

My parents were supposed to get married and a few months before the wedding my father told mum that he had met someone and he didn't love her anymore.
Mum said when her wedding day came along she was devastated but then after than she realized that she wasn't meant to be with him and that she was lucky that she didn't get married and that he was honest with her so she was able to find someone who loves her and makes her happy. She said looking at it as a good thing and a bullet dodged helped make it easier and the next year the day came and went and she didn't even realize it.
Just saying that's something crazy to go through and anyone who does is crazy strong and incredible

Thank you for this video. I was supposed to get married on 19/10/19. Six days before (after weeks of issues with his family) my fiancé decided he couldn’t do it and cancelled it. Almost a year later I still struggle with it, and it does really help to know other people have been through this. The complicating factor in our scenario is that we are still together and trying to make it work. That is the part I haven’t been able to find any advice for. One day at a time!

I had to cancel my wedding and find a place to live. I was also starting a new career! It was so overwhelming I’m happy I’m still alive! Lbvs I know I can go to hell and come out breathing. 💪🏽

You dodged a bullet. If you married this guy, it would've probably ended in a nasty divorce. Just go talk to other people, form new relationships, and you will find someone better.
