- All the rights go to ITV. I don't own any part of it. This is for entertainment and educational purposes only.

Others seem to have added their own small corrections, so I'll add the complete list:
1) The obvious one throughout the video is that the London Weekend franchises are all missed off.
2) 0:04 - that "ABC" ATV logo was never used in the Midlands, it appeared for two weekends in London before a hasty name change to ATV, resulting in the unusual ATV "eyes" logo.
3) the Midlands and North regions don't have the weekend counterpart mentioned (as London), and the North region is split far too early, leading some to believe that ABC served Yorkshire when it was ATV (weekdays)/ABC (weekends) in the Midlands and Granada (weekdays)/ABC (weekends) in the North.
4) The Scottish TV region extends a bit too far North.
5) Speaking of which the South Wales region also spreads too far North (or the other Welsh region is not spread far enough South if you see it that way).
6) You haven't included the Grampian logo when it is easy enough to find on the internet.
7) For some reason the Anglia region is split by a dividing line at 0:23
8) Southern go colour far too early.
9) 0:28 Yorkshire TV didn't launch in 1967 and the logo used was used before they officially took over as programme contractor for Yorkshire (and probably shouldn't be included).
10) Tyne Tees' logo changes two years too early.
11) 0:30 No sign of the Granada "two stripes" logo they used before introducing the "arrow G" in spring 1969.
12) 0:32 Westward also go colour two years too early yet Granada, ATV and Yorkshire seem to still be in B&W. Border's logo also changes two years too early. Ulster's logo changes a year too early.
13) That Anglia division now turns into a Yorkshire region division.
14) 0:59 - the TSW letters are missing.
15) 1:10 - the Central cake was actually first used in 1985, but only locally.
16) 1:24 - the "Carltonised" Central logo for some reason makes a brief appearance three years early before reverting to the cake.
But apart from all that, excellent.
I should have added a box for LWT like I did with WHUT from Washington D.C on my upcoming PBS station timeline. Speaking of that upcoming timeline, it will have far more missing logos.
So was ATV in the midlands region was closer to London than it was thought?
So Looking at the map, London ITV region has only ever been within the now M25, not also including the English home counties too, was that right? So all this apparent ooh-ah about Elstree being London when ATV held the midlands contract after LWT took over the London weekend franchise was it really justified after all? Elstree's Hertfordshire, not London. And London's not Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire's not London in the same way London's not Essex and Essex's not London.
Border TV goes as far North as the southern outskirts of Glasgow it appears on the map.
And how close to Stirling did Grampian get? I saw some old transmitter information on youtube for the Grampian 9.25am startup saying that Perth was in the Grampian region, not the STV or Scottish region?
The Yorkshire logo was used as a pre-launch logo
I guess the reason why the Yorkshire/Anglia region is shown as split is because it always has been. Different news bulletins/progs to the 'main part' of the region back in the Anglia days the same still today, sadly now just limited to news.
back in the day living in blackpool on really clear nights i could also tune in to htv, central, yorkshire it was great as granada would not always show the same programmes late at night so i tuned in to htv watched terminator on my game gear
1968:
Southern: Look! I'm in color!
1969:
(Westward appears)
Westward: Hey!
Southern: Oh, brother. And I thought I was the only one in color.
STV: Did you forget me?
(Southern packs stuff for 1982)
Carlton: F* k this it’s gonna be all for me now, yum!
(Central packs stuff for 2002)
Nicely done :)
The Northern portion of Meridian and Southern part of Central was merged into ITV Thames Valley and later merged with ITV Meridian.
Wondering if Carlton America can be a TV Channel for DC, MD, and VA. (I'm in the DC Metro are in Maryland)
There were two HTV and ITV regions - One was HTV Wales and one HTV West (the part in England) plus, between TWW and HTV there was ITS (Independent Television Services) when TWW threw their toys out of the pram
Misses the transfer of Bluebell Hill from London to TVS on 1982 chang
ATV:You Stole My Logo!
ABC:Did not.
Slight correction, in 1955 there was only Redifusion in London. ATV/ABC in the midlands didn't come until February of 1956
@ 0:27 I didn't know the Yorkshire Television logo looked odd looking back then! 😮
Probably was a Prototype.
@@Palmy0724 Could be.
I made another one of these, this time it's PBS:

Grampian tv= STV north
STV=STV central
This music was for the 1989 ITV campaign slogan when they say get ready for itv do they mean crape TV after 1993.
the music in this is ever so slightly irritating as it goes on a bit.
I believe it's the generic 1989 ITV ident music and your right, it does!
John Macleod I like the 1989 music!
😎
London Weekend (LWT) and Channel are absent in the timeline.
David Leystar that's because they don't have any suitable spots to place in the UK map!
They do have a space to put the Channel TV logo, you can see the Channel islands right at the very bottom of the map.
Aidan Lunn oh...
Basically then, due to the boatloads of mistakes, this needs taking down and reshooting, frankly.
1:50
What was the station in wales
TWW for the South and Teledu Cymru for the North, HTV took over in 1968
Can you do maybe BBC nations logo timeline?
I'll try around December/January.
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Why are they not adding lwt
Because Thames is in morning and LWT is in night but for weekends.
[0:11] My country, Northern Ireland got a station!
Yes, it has that black border. If you go in it, you’re in Ireland!
Northern Ireland is not a country.
@@SPGRepublic It literally is.
Itv
Lincolnshire had central and Yorkshire
ITV wasn't national on day one? Learn something new every day. It looks like there are two identical YTV logos next to each other for much of the video. What's going on there? An oddly moving trip down memory lane - thanks.
Yorkshire TV from the Belmont transmitter was deemed as separate from that which came from the Emley Moor transmitter, due to regional differences. Yorkshire Television, 'East', was Lincolnshire and, for a while included Humberside, which had a separate newsroom from that coming from Leeds. It was, in effect, a region within a region.
Where's LWT and TV-am?
LWT was only shown on weekends. TV-am was only sown in the morning.
1970 Stv hi
South Cumbria is in the Granada Area
It's also in the Border area, as there is a significant overlap between the Granada and Border areas there.
I'm from South Cumbria in Barrow in Furness. we have granada and I know it only go as Kendal where Kendal is bordered
Philip Henderson yep I live near
There's now logos from Grampian and Scottish Television in Logopedia (logos.wikia.com)

Itv more like pie tv
No! More Like ITV!
Once the 21st century came along, all the ITV regions and their own individualistic uniqueness disappeared only to be replaced by homogenised, mediocre, bland nothingness of a faceless corporate brand.
Actually, what REALLY was some sort of homogenized, mediocre, and bland nothingness had been the pre-2002 identities. Just a shame Channels 4 and 5 didn’t learn from this mistake until 2004!
Stv should become itv no mater what snp says
