You are spot on I had indeed washed the fabric. Loving that you made an Ogden cami too like me. Omg I had to be so strong to not want to buy fabric after seeing what you bought. Well done for making plain red trousers.

Hi Bec, love your videos. I have a suggestion for you. You seem to have a very simular fitting problem as I do...full bust and narrow shoulders/back. What always works for me is to pick the pattern by my upper bust (just under the arms, over the bustline) measurement which on me is about 36". I do a full bust adjustment which ensures that the bustline fits ( mine is around 40") while leaving my shoulder measurement stays smaller. Keep bringing the great vids!

I usually do same thing- I go by my high bust measurement. If it is not available, I check what standard bust the company made and calculate myself or I check measurement on pattern pieces. And I go from there. Its pain in bum sometimes but for a good fit it is worth it.

I totally sympathize with you on Shingles! It took me over a year to mostly recover from my own bout with them, even after getting medical treatment! I was able to get a Shingrix vaccination afterwards in hopes to never have them again. Still have some scarring & some residual pain & discomfort flairs. 😵💫

It’s the third time in 2 years, different place this time, whilst it’s painful it’s nothing like it was under my ribs, as soon as the pain started I was able to get the treatment which I am hoping means I have caught it early x
I love your new Ogden and I think the pattern clashing is really fun!! I wish there were sewing socials where I live. When work isn’t so crazy anymore, maybe I’m going to look into organizing one to see if there would be any takers. I hope you feel better soon! 💞

I had trouble with the Etty, but the HC Reynolds fits well. For the Ogdan, don't worry about your hips.

I also had the same experience with the Ogden cami. I’ve made it several times and never a good fit. I was going to make tie straps next time so I can have a better fit and focus on the bust fitting better. I will size down 2 sizes like you did!
Yeah see how you get on, it was helpful getting someone to pin me so maybe see if someone can pin you on the straps front and back so you can work it against the pattern pieces x
I've had shingles; it was MISERABLE. I'm so sorry! This weekend I'll be hopefully learning to sew with knits, visiting a friend in the hospital who took a bad fall in the rock climbing gym, and spending time with a friend thrift shopping. It's going to be brutally hot & humid and I don't have AC, so I'm not sure how much time I'll spend inside my apartment.
As much as I moan about the rubbish weather there is such thing as too hot!

Shingles isn’t fun but I have had it twice now so I kind of know what to expect x
I’ve been thinking of making a cami .I’ve got only 1metre of a lovely patterned cotton and want to make something out of it. I’ve had trouble with the esti too. Not sure .love your spotty fabric.❤️

Oh sorry you had shingles Becs, it’s not nice, I got it post chemo, when my immune system was low and it was so bad. I now take a supplement called L-Lysine, which is also good if you suffer with cold sores and it seems to work so may be worth giving it a try to stop it coming back again (so far so good for me 😊) xx

Have you tried the Sorbetto vest top? It's free on seamwork and I'm sure there's also a fitting class on there about darts and fitting tops which might help x
Ooo I haven’t, I used to be a member of seamwork but stopped as I wasn’t using the patterns, I will go and have a nose 😊 x
I've found this is a really good fit, compared to the Etty which didn't sit right over my full bust. Feeling the same about my seamwork but decided to revisit it along with their fitting/hacking tips and see if that works! 🤞
